They're just being honest...her hair is damaged. If you're doing a video promoting a straightener, the hair is expected to look a certain way in order to convince people to buy it. After seeing this I wouldn't have bought it, but thanks to borderhammer's video, I saw hers first.

Ateyaa gurl I do not think that this iron is better than the last few you have mentioned. I like my same ole' Revlon Ionic Flat Iron. It does the job and does it VERY well. I dont believe that this iron even flattened your hair nicely. That is a no go for me. My review of this iron is that I can leave it. Although the GHD flat iron may be a good iron, it is also very expensive, and many peopl will not be willing to invest in it. The earlier videos you put out suggested the CHI,then FHI, and IZUNAMI and so forth...I believe your earlier videos were your honest opinion and now its maybe just a job for you,because now you switch up so much. I have a FHI and I like the way it works, I would say to anyone if you have a iron that works for you;keep it....

@Sh0paHo0lic I have a ghd, well my mother got me one (so i didn't really spend money on it), hum it works really nice, i have mine for 2 years know, and it still works like wonders, my hair isn't very long, but you should really invest on one, or just try someone's GHD, then you decide it, and the corners are round so u can even try to make curls or waves, and they will not have angles... its worth the price :D God bless!

@00maui00 The Andis one doesn't last long it's not ceramic it chips of after so many uses. I suggest you go to TJMaxx the have alot of brands for low prices.

nah contrary to beliefs if you stop using nu gro or have sensitive scalp it can make your hair dense and shed theres a few vids about it and thats what happened to mine

Don't worry about what people are saying about your hair. The ends just need to be trimmed. But I have to say, I'm not impressed with this GHD iron at all. Your hair looked 10 times better with CHI and FHI.

All i got to say is DONT DO IT. Save your money if you want the flat irons and buy them yourself from the official web site. I did the same thing twice and both times i wasnt satisfied and i knew that the irons were fake. I took both pair to the salon that i go to and compared the difference. Your hair is not looking too healthy..i think you use too much heat..its been a year and a few months since u joined youtube and you started out at a healthy shoulder length..now your hair is necklength and thinned out at the ends. i just recently began using Apogee a few months ago and my hair is mega smooth and silky! I love it the only issue is how often my hair gets dirty and i have to wash it. My highlights are now slowly fading in which i have got at lest 3 weeks ago. I really think that it it s the shampoo & flat ironing so ima try to slow it down.
How hot did the iron get? I like for my irons to get to atleast 450. Your hair is pretty anyway but to be real honest that iron didn't make me want to run and buy it. Use your heat protectant whilst your hair is wet. It won't feel and look crispy. I think i prefer it when you use the Chi your hair looked so much smoother x

Toy2cute,my hair is just about shoulder length,thanks to Ateya,Aphogee,CHI silk infusion,and very little hea:)t. I had some breakage on the crown area and that's made great progress. I can barely tell where I had the breakage.

I agree that the iron is overrated. So far, I've seen ateya straighten her hair with the CHI and FHI, and they both left her hair more shinier and with more bounce. The GHD did absolutely nothing. I just bought the FHI irons and CHI silk infusion today because i was tempted to perm my hair after watching her videos and it got my hair looking like i either pressed it or got a perm. I love them.
She took out her sew-in herself but did it incorrectly so it left a lot of matted knots in her hair and she had to snip off some of it. She has a video up somewhere if you wanna see the full thing.

You should cut your hair in a nice bob to get your hair back healthy. That would look so good on you. The fact the you have to use a guard sounds to me as if its too much heat on the hair. There is a complete difference in her hair from before the sew in and now, I honeslty believe the her stylist should have trim her ends because those damaged ends are spliting up further and causes more damage and the extreme heat is not helping.
i noticed the change too. her hair was so healthy and thick before now it's just really damaged and thinning out. all the protein and treatments in the world isn't gonna repair split/damaged ends.. it just hides them and ur right. the hair will continue to split and she will never see anymore growth. but you can't tell ppl nothin. they gotta learn on their own. just hope no one else takes this as a sign that they SHOULD be using heat on damaged hair.

Don't worry about what people are saying about your hair. The ends just need to be trimmed. But I have to say, I'm not impressed with this GHD iron at all. Your hair looked 10 times better with CHI and FHI.

All i got to say is DONT DO IT. Save your money if you want the flat irons and buy them yourself from the official web site. I did the same thing twice and both times i wasnt satisfied and i knew that the irons were fake. I took both pair to the salon that i go to and compared the difference. To make a long story short, I got ripped off.

Hey Ateeya! I love you but i just have to let you know something. Your hair is not looking too healthy..i think you use too much heat..its been a year and a few months since u joined youtube and you started out at a healthy shoulder length..now your hair is necklength and thinned out at the ends. You should stop using so much heat, and get regular trims to get it in shape again. I still love u!

Hey Ateyaaa - your hair is looking good and it's growing out nicely. Could you just use the CHI Silk Infusion as a heat protectant instead of the Iron Guard? Just wondering because when I blowdry or flat iron I've been using the CHI Silk Infusion by itself and I thought that was enough.

i just recently began using Apogee a few months ago and my hair is mega smooth and silky! I love it the only issue is how often my hair gets dirty and i have to wash it. My highlights are now slowly fading in which i have got at lest 3 weeks ago. I really think that it it s the shampoo & flat ironing so ima try to slow it down.

How hot did the iron get? I like for my irons to get to atleast 450. Your hair is pretty anyway but to be real honest that iron didn't make me want to run and buy it. And I have bought stuff you have shown before. I am shopping for a new flat iron but I need one that goes to 450 to make the natural hair and weaved hair straight. You know some of that yaky hair is nappy and 400 won't do nothing for it. Thanks for the video though :0)

Use your heat protectant whilst your hair is wet. It won't feel and look crispy. I think i prefer it when you use the Chi your hair looked so much smoother x

I like the Chi 44 iron guard! I use it for stretching my relaxers, because it really gets my hair really straight and I always use a protectant, so it's my two n 1! Love it!

Toy2cute,my hair is just about shoulder length,thanks to Ateya,Aphogee,CHI silk infusion,and very little hea:)t. I had some breakage on the crown area and that's made great progress. I can barely tell where I had the breakage.

After the rod set, Every now and then maybe blow just the roots. You would be suprise- you would achieve the hair body and hair growth as a result of this. Next to all out natural hair, I think this one of the best methods for treating that breakage in our hair...

You have a nice skin tone & Natural glow to your skin, HOWEVER...I do NOT agree with some of the methods on how u style your hair. U mentioned treating your hair in the video...1 thing I must say/admit..Most of us black women must STOP adding that extra direct heat 2 our hair! This is what breaks it off! The old tried and true method is 2 rod set ur hair and sit under the dryer or let it air dry..

I agree that the iron is overrated. So far, I've seen ateya straighten her hair with the CHI and FHI, and they both left her hair more shinier and with more bounce. The GHD did absolutely nothing. I just bought the FHI irons and CHI silk infusion today because i was tempted to perm my hair after watching her videos and it got my hair looking like i either pressed it or got a perm. I love them.

She took out her sew-in herself but did it incorrectly so it left a lot of matted knots in her hair and she had to snip off some of it. She has a video up somewhere if you wanna see the full thing.
Poor Ateya, but I still admire the fact that she still tries to make her hair look good. :)

ok so i have started using wrap lotion and i couldn't get the keracare so i got Elaster QP and the lady at the store recommended it but my hair feels like it doesn't have enough moisture and kinda hard and it is sressing me out. toy2cute- hair textures are different,but it makes my hair feel like silky. I wrap my hair wet and it detangles it beautifully. I love the smell,some don't but Iove it and I'm so thankful to Ateya for introducing me to the product. My wet wraps have NEVER been easier. BTW I add the CHI last,after leave in,wrap lotion,etc.

You should cut your hair in a nice bob to get your hair back healthy. That would look so good on you. I know it's painful sometimes to cut your hair but to have healthy hair you have to have healthy ends. Last year I had to cut my hair due to damage and it was the best decision I ever made! Now my hair is so healthy & thick.

The fact the you have to use a guard sounds to me as if its too much heat on the hair. There is a complete difference in her hair from before the sew in and now, I honeslty believe the her stylist should have trim her ends because those damaged ends are spliting up further and causes more damage and the extreme heat is not helping.

i noticed the change too. her hair was so healthy and thick before now it's just really damaged and thinning out. all the protein and treatments in the world isn't gonna repair split/damaged ends.. it just hides them and ur right. the hair will continue to split and she will never see anymore growth. but you can't tell ppl nothin. they gotta learn on their own. just hope no one else takes this as a sign that they SHOULD be using heat on damaged hair.
