  • No doping needed only the right selection and the support of governement that will do

  • Felke had been voted the most beautiful athlete in athens 1982 european champs,

next year in helsinki world champs she actually had a beard....

    no further comment....

  • cheat

  • Why are the last 5 comments all stupid comments about not the weight of the javelin being changed, but the point of gravity, jezus, I think this guy gets the hang of it now since it's being said like 100x? Just read some comments before answering! ><

  • Petra "doping" Felke !

  • We had to watch her throw the javelin at school, then try doing it.I was best in the class(not a massive achievment)so i got the nickname Petra which i was not too happy about.

  • Петра Фельке 80м.

  • yup felke definitely maximised her potential ( with the aid of 10 years of stuffing anabolic steroids down her mullet framed mouth )

  • @tobybunny77 God this anabolic bullshit is so tiring. GDR had the best recruiting methods and all that. A country with 17 million people almost taking as many medals in the olympics as another anabolic nation - USSR with like 10 times more people. This means they are better athletes. So just shut up. Im so tired of comments like that.

  • @ohedd If the dope didn't aid the GDR, why the Hell did they use it?

    German Doping Republic

  • @ohedd Oh go and cry me a river.

If the dope wasn't benificial, why the Hell did they use it?

    German Doping Republic

  • @beebeechitown Nobody is saying steroids isn't working, but explain to me why GDR was a better sporting nation than any other country in the world!

  • @ohedd Please explain to me why Germany(with actual drug testing) can't come close to their past(dope saturated) glory?

  • @beebeechitown Because children aren't systematically recruited from age 6 anymore and if the kids get to choose, they will rather play soccer with their friends! But right now there's a german shot putter born 1990 who has performed well over most GDR shot putters did at the same age. Now you explain to me why GDR as a doping nation performed better than both USA and USSR, them too being doping nations.

  • @ohedd If drugs were eliminated, we both know American athletes would still be great performers. Did Ali, Jessie Owens. Willie Mays, Wilma Rudolph, Wilt Chamberlain, Joe Louis, Jim Brown, Sugar Ray, Jordan, need dope? Germany is tainted.

  • @ohedd If Ben Johnson's records were taken away, so should ALL of the East German "records". Any true sportsman should have a problem with the inconsistency.

  • @beebeechitown Ben Johnson's record was taken away because he failed the drugtest within a certain timeframe from the 1988 olympics. The same deal with everyone commiting the same crime. I don't know about Sugar Ray Leonard and Muhamed Ali was on roids. they weren't convicted so I'm gonna say no, but Im sure you won't argue with me on some obvious cases like Flo Jo.

  • it's all about drugs....

  • what is the difference between the old javelin and the knew one?

  • the weight...i think

  • @frnfba84 The differennt is not a weight, the different is where is biggest weight or something like that :)

  • @MrPallonivel Sorry about my bad english :)

  • @frnfba84

No, there is no difference in weight. Both are 600 grams. The difference is a change in the center of gravity with respect to the center of dynamic pressure. By changing the diameter, and hence, the surface area, at differing points along the shaft of the javelin, the effect center of mass was moved relative to the dynamic center of pressure. The goal was to cause the front end of the javelin to "nose over" sooner and aid in less "flat" throws having to be called by the officials.

  • @frnfba84 fucking stupid.. its the focus is different..

  • @frnfba84 the point of gravity is the different..

  • @frnfba84 the point of gravity was changed, so the javelin cannot fly so far..

  • No the weight is the same but the centre of gravity was moved forward slightly so that the javelin would come down sooner.

  • both weigh 600g, but centre of mass is 2cm ahead in the new javelin. The idea was to help referees to find a mark where javelin lands. Actually the change wasn´t that big still javelins land on their stomach. On mens side 4cm transfer in centre of mass was made

  • And because people like Uwe Hohn were throwing the javelins out of the stadium :P

  • @egon55 Not the weight, but the placement of the grip. By moving it forward on the javelin, it forces the javelin nose down and shortens the throw by about 5-10 meters for the very best throwers, 2-6 meters shorter for most of us.

  • amazing throw. she is the best ever

  • Oral-turinabol did just that.

  • Potsdam

  • ehm...just a little finger's mistake

  • whoat nice throw
