This was the first of the Bill Weiss-produced Sidney cartoons after Gene Deitch was fired from the studio in late 1958. Along with reviving "Heckle & Jeckle" and "Mighty Mouse" in new cartoons, Weiss determined the ONLY continuing character from the Deitch era [1956-'58] that theatrical audiences wanted to see was Sidney. This was released (originally in CinemaScope) in April 1960; directed by Martin B. Taras [not Bartsch]; story by Larz Bourne; music by Phil Scheib, and voices by Lionel Wilson.
