there's even an easier way to play melodic minor...play the major scale with a flatted 3rd

What does he mean by the _V2 stuff?

If you look at his first lesson he calls a major ionian scale that starts on the low E and work across the neck a 6v2 scale. When he uses a major scale that starts on the 5th string[ in this case C major on the 3rd fret. He calls this scale 5 v 2 scale. Hope that helps
