I remember seeing somebody using a hockey puck as a card protector at the table. Pretty stupid idea, since the puck pretty much covered the entire cards up and people couldn't tell if he was in the hand or not. Just use a goddamn chip from your stack.

The guy did just that and I stuck the chips in my pocket and then forgot about them. Hours later I was happy to find that I still had that whole rack of chips in my pocket because that was my buy in money and everything else was pure profit.

i my self often use one chip to hold my cards together, sometimes over couple of hands and within 2 - 3 hours, i find i am using like 3 - 4 chips ,
it is funny , it is a habbit too , i know most of poker players do it too but actualy there is not good real reaosn for it.
