For me, the Samsung 9 is just for the Windows user that is looking for the Air equivalent, while spec wise, Samsung won with the new Sandy Bridge, but Air is releasing the new refresh in June which is also using the same SB chip as Samsung's, so i guess, they both will work wonderfully, but with different OS, that's all, i love the Samsung 9, but i still love Air's simplistic model

I suspect this laptop will be dead on arrival. We know iPad or even iPad 2 doesn't have usb port, lan port nor card reader port. It may has 3g connectivity, but not for texting and phone as in samsung galaxy tab

Yet iPad still king of tablet, and always sold out on launch day. MBA also don't have gimmick ports, but I never manage to hate apple, and i think most people don't either

Don't even bother getting this notebook, Sony will unveil its new Sony Vaio Hyrbid Z series in this summer. Probably as thin as the Macbook Air but a real multimedia notebook. Including the second component it will have an i7 sandy bridge processor, SSD, probably a 1gb Radeon HD 6750, 4Gbs Ram, and a lot of ports to choose from including the thunderbolt port from the new Macbook Pro lineup.

@stealfz im sry but you cant fit an i7 and a graphics card like that in a 13 inch computer. its not possible. but to compensate, the vaio x is thinner than both this computer and the air and it weighs a lot less. amazing computer

There will be two components, the PC (possibly as slim and light as the Macbook Air or Samsung 9 series) and a slim docking that will have an AMD Whistler-XT 1GB GPU (ATI Radeon HD 6750m), Blu-ray burner, HDMI and VGA outputs, ethernet and USB ports. So basically the PC itself could be for casual usage and when you need power you just plug in the docking for intensive gaming or applications.

I think the growth of technology is stantar but Apple trying to be the first to sale this new technology. Samsung prefere to be the second to release new features of technology. The difference is that Samsung always offers better features in better price.

As you can see the hardware of this two notebook is better in Samsung than MacAir.

@All, at this point in time, I can't say which is better as I haven't really used the Series 9 for an extended period of time.

With that being said, I absolutely love the MacBook Air (blogged from CES with just the Air).

The Samsung 9 is definitely sleek though and seems like it's going to offer some features that the Air does not including more ports, 3G connectivity, and what appears to be a spacier keyboard.

macbook air killers have been coming out since the dawn of time... Whenever you make a "something-killer" it's always inferior to the original product. Companies need to make their own innovations, instead of trying to copy or 1-up other companies

@ConceptVBS and there is one fundimental problem with this computer. why should I buy this instead of the acer timeline or the sony x or the xps 14. i shouldn't. its either a weaker computer or a larger computer. This will be forgotten behind the competition as the air sells 1.7 million in less than a year. in a few months, thats more than this sammy will sell in 3 years
