This is a joke compared to the way US cops treat the citizens. Just recently we had a veteran sprayed with 60 bullets when he hadn't even committed a crime. A SWAT team broke into his house, he arrived with a gun before he knew they were police. He didn't even point it at them and they all began firing. The cops still won't release why they were at his house ot begin with.

These officers acted using to approved techniques, i.e. punches to muscle groups to release arms for uncompliant handcuffing. Do you not think it strange that the other two officers were not prosecuted if you were in fact correct? Only one was prosecuted, and that was because he lied. Nothing more.
@d0dge25 From my perspective, the officers' actions do no fit the description of 'violence'. This is an appropriate measure for dealing with drunks. This sort of thing is not unusual, and happens to drunken idiots in my home town on a daily basis and nobody bats an eyelid. Why? People under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs can display extraordinary strength which requires them to be dealt with robustly in order for the arrest to be safe for everyone. I couldn't care less whether he has to deal with PTSD or not, it's an occupational hazard, much like the hazards faced by police officers day in, day out. I behave myself and can handle my drink, hence why I've never been arrested.

These guys did their jobs. The only reason he got convicted of a common assault was because he lied in court. They broke no civil liberies whatsoever. There's no input from the officers as to why they took that action and it's been given the usual anti-police media spin, so how can anyone draw a conclusion on whether it was right or wrong? All I can say is that this type of force is justifiable in some circumstances. It's up to the officers to justify their actions.
If you would have followed the discussion thread in here, it would have occured to you that one of the officers was found guilty of using unnecessary excessive force on that person and was convicted.

Initially it was'nt to bad the police were very much in their rights to take him down and and restrain him as he ran away. But the head scraping and beating is unneccessary and wrong. As for the punches they may have been malicious but they are often used to try and get cuffs on someone who is resisting, they didnt hit him in the face or anything so i think it was just a bit ruff not violent. I do hate it when mindless chav scum who only joined up so they can shoot people are described as brave war heroes. I've met many men who are brave war heroes included many members of my family. This man is a drunken lout and should be treated as such. Legally, of course, this does not include the excessive force used in this video. These officers acted using to approved techniques, i.e. punches to muscle groups to release arms for uncompliant handcuffing. Do you not think it strange that the other two officers were not prosecuted if you were in fact correct? Only one was prosecuted, and that was because he lied. Nothing more.

This sort of thing is not unusual, and happens to drunken idiots in my home town on a daily basis and nobody bats an eyelid. Why? People under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs can display extraordinary strength which requires them to be dealt with robustly in order for the arrest to be safe for everyone. I couldn't care less whether he has to deal with PTSD or not, it's an occupational hazard, much like the hazards faced by police officers day in, day out. I behave myself and can handle my drink, hence why I've never been arrested.

This isn't brutality, it was a standard arrest that got blown out of proportion. He got sent to prison because he lied in court and failed to give his reason for using the force. His own stupidity got him locked up, not his actions shown in this video.

These guys did their jobs. The only reason he got convicted of a common assault was because he lied in court. They broke no civil liberies whatsoever. Initially it was'nt to bad the police were very much in their rights to take him down and and restrain him as he ran away. But the head scraping and beating is unneccessary and wrong. As for the punches they may have been malicious but they are often used to try and get cuffs on someone who is resisting, they didnt hit him in the face or anything so i think it was just a bit ruff not violent. Had it not been for the head assault this would have been not to bad. PS the reporter is so biast.

0.39 Stands ten feet from them, but walks towards them still winding them up. Should have just gone home.

0.50 Cops effect the arrest, takes three of them cos this guys a soldier and trained to fight (to a certain degree).
1.00 Soldier lifts his head up cop restrains him. Shouts in his ear? Where's the volume?

Walking along mind his own business; pushed down and assaulted by a copper (who'd removed his number so he couldn't be indentified) and later died? When people tried to intervene when collapsed, riot police surrounded him (including his assailant and chased them off) - all this was caught on camera phone and yet his assailant got away with what was, basically, manslaughter. Tough one to call. You can't have cops afraid to act in today's society, and no-one knows what he actually said to them before it started. I think charging him for police assault is quite out of line though. He got his beating and that should have been enough punishment, if indeed he did deserve any.
