A) Someone's personal life is "news" and you have the right to know things about someone's personal life if they make enough money/work in a certain field.
B) You think someone's personal fetish that he exercises with his wife is news worth countless dollars in salaries (of reporters, etc) and every other expense that it will take to broadcast this across the country/world. Not like the US is at war or anything.
