Have you ever done any research? Do a google search and you will see in 5 seconds cyclones and hurricanes are identical. The strongest cyclone to make landfall in Australia (Cyclone Monica in 2006) was stronger than any US hurricane.
I think it's weird someone from ustralia would degrade there own storms as if they are somehow weaker than other tropical cyclones. They are all the same - obviously there are weak ones and strong ones, but thats the case anywhere they form.
@CyrusNixes Wrong. Hurricane Camille (August 1969) had 190mph sustained winds. Hurricane Andrew (August 1992) had 175mph sustained winds both stronger than Monica
Tropical Cyclones, Hurricanes and Typhoons are one and the same thing. Fighting over which is stronger is a mute point. Context plays a big part, for example had Larry hit Florida as a Hurricane there would have have been incredible destruction simply due to dense population in Florida. Some Typhoons in the north Pacific reach 'super typhoon' status, going beyond a CAT 5 cyclone, but as they weaken by the time they hit large landmasses they do not get much media attention.
ya right mysterio, cyclones are worse than hurracanes. look up pictures on the web.

No, a cyclone is like a "mini-hurricane". They look similar and share a similar structure, but Hurricanes are bigger and much stonger.
