  • My chicken lays blue eggs?

  • the breed is native to Peru

  • its simple as this, shes an Easter egger, some where in her gene pool she has genes from either an Americauna or an araucana in her gene pool.

  • now we jst need a green pig... uhm green eggs and ham

  • araucoonas? isnt it araucanas.....i have amerucanas, blue and green eggs arent that rare......lol

  • i have blue eggs from my chicken

  • just imagine if it was a golden egg

  • esa es mi abuela (: ... enserio ! x)

  • i do not like green eggs and ham said sam i am

  • wow... here in our country it's white!!!! :/ lol........... haha anything weird has always have to with science XD

  • u can tell the people r scripted fuckin retards i mean ''ruffled some fethahs'' wow dude...;\

  • are you guys retarted?

  • blue or green eggs aren't that special, all that's different is the color of the shell. "I've never seen anything like it." Coming from the news? I would think they would have done some research. Araucana and Ameraucanas lay those eggs since they are bred to. Easter Eggers, which are mutts bred with Araucanas or Ameraucanas are even more common, there's a few hundred for sale at 2.50 a hen at my feed store. Easter Eggers lay colored eggs to.

  • im not going to pay extra for a blue chicken egg ill get a regular egg tht would taste the same stupid bch

  • IDIOTS!! Its an Araucana!!!! OR CROSSED WITH IT!!

  • @lilblueguy Your right. In order to get green eggs you need to cross breed a easter chicken also known as Araucanas. with any brown laying chicken.

  • @TheDudeman0234 Thank god! Someone that knows there chickens And ISN'T an asshole!

  • salted duck eggs from indonesia!!! google it./

  • its amazing, the varied levels of develop and civilization across the globe, and to think, I got my chickens because of their eggs color.

One lays green, one lays grey, and the fairest one lays a TARHEEL BLUE egg...YEAH YAYE

  • lol "never seen anything like it" was that on the news?.....some rare chicken breeds, such as the Araucana and Ameraucana, lay blue and blue-green eggs, like some of you have stated, you think the news would know that

  • @Brandon85923 The news doesn't seem to do much research anymore. The blue egg laying gene is dominant. I plan on getting chickens soon, I want to get some Ameraucanas just for their egg color alone.

  • LOL I have hens that lay green eggs all the time. They are araucanas.

There is nothing special about this, it's just the breed. Seems that there are not many of this breen in Mexico.

  • thats nothing speacial. i have a hen that lays green eggs as well

  • When I was a kid we had chickens that laid blue eggs. Nobody believed us, they said we gave the chicken color dye or we dye the eggs afterwards. Believe it or Not.

  • They just need to come out of the chicken covered in pink and yellow stripes so we don't have to worry about painting easier eggs anymore.

  • Araucana's chickens, originally from the south of Chile due the region of Arauco, lay colored eggs.

  • @Machin396 Yes you have right ...

    8>D

  • Our cousins chicken does this! aw man... I thought it was just a mutant:(

  • It's not only 2 breeds of chickens that lay blue/green eggs.

We have the silver dorking. Then araucana, and the ameraucana, and cream legbar and the swedish breed Isbar.

= 4 breeds. And dont forget all the mixed breeds with the gene of green/blue eggs. ;D

But, araucana is the first bluelayer. All other blue and greenlayer breeds have been developed by using the araucana.

  • thats so cool!

  • Green eggs and ham please... ^_^

  • lol good 1! XD

  • thast normal..... in brazil they have it all the time

  • imagine purple eggs

  • Duh!

  • i never have blue and green eggs in my hole life. i only eat brown and white

  • @iluvkawaiimakeup The egg shell color doesn't affect the taste of the egg. One lady at the farmers market has a mix of colors in each cartoon, white, light brown, chocolate and adds one green egg for color. It's very cute.

  • all this is soo funny the lady and her reaction and all the stupid comments that people have left, the eggs are green because the chicken has to be a ameraucana chicken they are known to lay light green eggs or light blue ones. EDUCATE YOUR SELF PEOPLE!

  • There are two breeds of chickens that lay Blue/Green eggs. They are the Araucana and the Crested Cream Legbar, which includes Araucana in its genetic makeup getting the egg colour and the crest from that gene pool. Ameraucana seems to be used in the USA but this is not the correct name for the South American Araucana. It appears that the Spanish took the birds back to Europe and on the ships of the Spanish Armada because the Shetland bantam from the Shetland Islands also lays a blue egg,

  • It's false...

  • lol the person who is translating sounds a little fed up 1:07 - 1:17

  • Yea, it was probably crossed with an auricana. Thay always lay blue and brown eggs. Nothing very suprizing...

  • we also have chickens that lay blue too green eggs also speckled and solid brown

  • when I was a little gal, I went to england and found out that crows laid bright blue eggs! its amazing how pretty they were. I do wonder though, why on earth the birds would lay such odd coloured eggs.

  • that not a new thing my friends chicken lays green eggs, its just the breed of chicken

  • yea i been getting blue and green eggs from years! clarence court eggs are blue and green.
