It's weird why they used velociraptors. A way better raptor would have been Deinonychus. When I was a little kid and I watched this movie, I Thought it was a Deinonychus, because the velociraptor's size in the movie was the same. Oh well. It was still a pretty good movie. I just think think that Deinonychus would be a better pick.

@avpkid345 For all we know the Velaciraptor could have been favored over the Deinonychus because "velaciraptor" was though to sound cooler. :P Yeah, as a little girl I grew up with the Deinonychus and it took some time to accept the mutant Velaciraptors snatching the place of the most well-known Dromaeosaurid. But it's okay now.

@FiePige1 the book, which came out before the movie, explains a bit more, the scientists didn't always know what the DNA they got from the mosquitoes would make. and they also only had a limited amount of different DNA types to make a diverse selection of animals in the park. they made whatever animals they could with the DNA they had and the results were as you saw in the movie.

well there is research with unborn chickens in there eggs. That they still hold there genetic past. they gave a 2week inqubatated chicken teeth, just like an aligator. They then gave it something similar to scales. So its not intirely impossilbe..just science need to come a bit further before we can make one using animals that still hold that genetic layout of the past.

The lean, mean, gritty attitude of the Velociraptor, combined with its pack ability does make it way more dangerous. But then again, the Rex has brute strength, which the raptor lacks on its own. Therefore, in my mind, they are evenly matched. just sharing my opinion.
