We used to vacation there every year for about ten years from the mid 70's to mid 80's. I haven't been back to the park since 1989 when I graduated High School. I wish I could bring back everyone with me who'se never been before. It's the most beautiful location for any amusement park in my mind. Thanks for sharing your memories.
Wow, that's awesome that Boneville has been there all these years. And it's interesting to see that high school marching bands used to visit Cedar Point during the sixties as well, I always thought that was somewhat of a recent trend.
my goodness! wow! that video is awesome! thank you for sharing such a wonderful piece of amazing history of a beautiful and memorable place. take 5 stars for your generous work.
Deffinetly hang onto that video. I worked down there at Cedar point in 2001 and 2002 and am interested in its history and that is an excellent glimpse into its past.
So much of that is still there, and quite a bit isn't anymore. I grew up going to Cedar Point once every couple of years, then made a point to go yearly for a few years. Now, I'm on the other side of the country and missing it horribly. Thank you so much for putting this up. It makes me so happy. And so homesick. I very much enjoyed seeing what it was like years before I was born.
there used to be 2 tracks for the trains back then if you ever get on the train look to the right and ull see were the train used to run and also theyd used to have cowboys jump off the train and fire at eachother
This movie was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I love it, this should be shown to people before entering the park to let them know where Cedar Point's roots are... You are lucky to have such an awesome grandfather, and thank you for sharing some of your families history!
I was born in 1962 and barely remember my first trip to Cedar Point in 1968. It's great to see some of the old rides and attractions that no longer exist there today. Thanks for the memories.
Great video. *rates 5 stars* It's nice to see footage of my favorite place in the world 25 years before my time... especially footage of the Scamper - a coaster I never got to ride.
I was born in 1972 and I can remember things shortly before Star Wars and to see things from the early 70's and before is scary. I see movies and things, but not everyday people and life. Poor film quality though.
Hey if anyone has any onride videos of coasters or roller coaster tycoon videos they want to put on my website called coasterstuff, message me the link with your name and i will put them up on my site. We also need more photos of roller coasters.
So very nice of you to share your family films of Cedar Point! There are many people out there that must have such films but you went to the extra effort to post what you have! We are all grateful for you having done so!
Thanks for sharing the good old times. I wonder if you have any footage of the old Euclid Beach Amusement Park( Cleveland) or Chippewa Lake Park (Medina) They were all cool.
wow.... thats C.P.?? man it must have sucked ass whithout all those fast coasters like millenium force or dragster... i can't believe all that was cedar point before today....
WOW... I am a native Sanduskian, or what C.P. employees refer to as a "towny".... I've lived here my whole life working at C.P. for many years and that's the first time that i've ever seen Cedar Point from an earlier time other than the 80's to now.... That was really entertaining. Thank you and your Grandpa!
Wow - they had the skeletons on the train route way back when... That's awesome!
