Your using chavant NSP? What do you use to make a mold out of it? and would pouring plaster in the mold be good? i mean would the plaster capture the detail? if not what would you recommend? Sorry im new to sculpting and want to sculpt Mythological probably greek gods
@DarkForestStables Thank you so much. I added a link in this video to show what happened to that horse a little less than a year later.. You might want to watch this again to get that link.
Consider this a positive affirmation to your artistry that the the busts need to be bronze! Not that resin wouldn't be stunning, but they deserve to be something really special! Your new work looks exciting! You have a real value to relationships in your scuptures! Your positive outlook can only yield more of the same. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Sharon
David, Sorry to hear the news. It's great to see your positive attitude despite all this. Looking forward to seeing new work and better days ahead. Hang in there. ~Gary
Darn thats so sad,, those busts were awesome, sad ta hear yer news David.. the buffalo is older than the horse? well I hear Native Americans hunted only the older Buffalo so I guess this is a sign its gonna be a winner,, cant wait ta see this, I did a painting of this same senario years ago, so I am seriously gonna enjoy seein this through its stages of sculpting. Sorry again about the news,, they are crazy ta not go for these in resin from a master like yerself.
@2darbit It takes anywhere from an hour to several.. depends on how cold.. right now it's 17 degrees and very windy.. so the studio will be very cold.. heat just turned on there so.. maybe by 1 pm.. lol
I hope I'm not asking a newbie questions and embarrassing myself, but: 1) aren't there other companies that could produce resin casts for you and 2) have you thought about producing resin casts yourself? I've never done it, but it doesn't look like rocket science. I bet you could produce several hundred reasonably quickly. Just curious.
@EV4UTube Not sure.. the way I want to go is bronze.. more collectable.. you produce resin.. you better have a few gift shops lined up.. galleries won't carry them.. gift shops want a track record on your reliability in producing and delivering on time and quality.. that would take more time than I've got... but great suggestion.
Im sorry David, I hope things look up for you again. I'll cross my fingers for you. I really like the Horse and the Bison they really would go good together. Its different and fun.
@Diana8Matthew It will have an Indian hunter on the horse... If I continue this piece.. funny I started the buffalo 6 years before I started the horse.. and yet they work.. lol
unlikely friends the horse and bison.. they both have the same kind of frolicing/ playing way.. looks like the horse is already there, can you make the bison look more playful ? just shooting an idea your way.
You are just amazing, there is so much detail in your work.

Things will work out... seems the nature. I like the buffalo too. How long does it take for the clay to warm?

@clayguy1 That makes sense. I understand better now. I don't know much about the art business. That was actually pretty enlightening.
