The only thing I liked about the 80's was the skateboard and punk movement, Reagan caused a big uprising in the hard core punk movement because of the right wing backlash and the rise in televangalism. Same thing happend in the 2000's with Bush! We dont like to be told what to do or how to think, that its wrong to be free thinkers, the only reason reagan got in office was the fundementalist christian movment.
Presided over the highest unemployment rate since the great depression (10.8%) - including today
He hurt our civil liberties, imprisoned millions, gave aid to muslim extremists, soared deficits and gave greater superpowers to the aristocracy.
Increased the size of government by the largest margin of any president - including today and trickle down economy= TIED WITH BUSH 1& 2 AS WORST EVER!!!
Our nation is controlled by the media... People are becoming too dependent on information that comes straight from stupid news stations such as Jon Stewart and Bill Maher. All you have to do is just turn on the tv and watch David Letterman. I believe that Letterman has given up on his comedy to just bash conservatives and sway the younger crowds. Whether you agree with me or not, AMERICA NEEDS A HERO AND OBAMA IS NOT IT! Since Obama came in, the nation has been more divided, not more united.
In my estimation, the public opinion of the majority of Americans will change within 25 years. I think that Reagan will be seen for what he was: a deliverer of propaganda for corporate America. No other President had as many cabinet members incarcerated as Reagan's.
I think that it is especially revealing as to how much his speeches were empty when he discusses France's Health Care system @ 2:07. I've been living in Paris for 8 years & their HC System is ranked #1 according to the W.H.O.
RIP Mr Reagan. You were in my humble opinion the one of the greatest leaders our country has ever had, I know there is a special place saved just for great men and women such as you.......... Rest well my friend...My President
What makes me sick is that no "Republican" leaders seem to follow the glowing example this great man gave us. They invoke his name while acting more left than right.
He was so immeasurably popular and successful because of his total conservative vision.
thank you, wyatt, for sharing this with me. ronald reagan is dear to me. my wife, a democrat, has given me many books, movies and other items about mr. reagan. she is a doll of a person. and you are my dear friend. yours, david
As he was to me too David, I have a few books and such about him and everytime I read them I find that I learn something new. :). You sound like you have a dear of a wife, definately supportive :)
Thank you for the kind words, you are a good man and a good friend
1-social security was never meant to take the place of private or union plans
Reagan then when he became president did his best to BUST the unions and RAID social security funds. not to mention raising the national debt to its highest level yet seen.
also- his SOCIALIZED military spent hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars enriching corporations like GE, boeing, lockheed martin, etc.
why is socialized medicine bad, but socialized military good?
Happy Birthday to "The Gipper" . God has a special place just for him in Heaven. 5/5* my friend Wyatt. God Bless you and God Bless our great Nation.. The USA!!! ~~ spooky
Thank you Spook, and the peace of the Lord be with you always. I have no doubt that he has found comfort in the arms of the savior. God bless America.
Great video, but it's a little hard to hear with the music. Don't get me wrong, the music goes well with it, but it's too loud.

It works.
Did then, will now.
We need a true Reagan Republican in office.

So true, but who?
bittergunowner12 3 years ago
This is why we needed Mitt Romney, my friends. I don't know if he's quite Ronald Reagan...but who is? Maybe 2012 will be our year.

Bobby Jindal! Just ask anyone from Louisiana what hes done.

I've actually heard a lot about him and I heard he's awesome. I also heard he's in Iowa right now (or will be in the near future).

Both were great and visionary leaders. I share the sense of mourning for when Reagan passed, he was a leader the likes the world rarely sees.

This was the first man that I voted for, the reason that I am what I am politically. Thank God that we had him!
mahowel 3 years ago
I was born the day he got the nomination. I never got to vote for him but I can say he is the reason I am political. He was a great leader.
