Like you stated EU is not full strength and it will not be for a while. Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal all have major economic issues. As for China, we are doing what we could so foreign powers will never invade us again. To do that, you need to make money so you can build up military strength. We will not invade anyone, but over Taiwan, we fight.

Now, I have taken your consideration of other allies following the US to pull out, but can they? @GeneralArrow China is at a yearly $265B surplus and has been for 11 years. Its debt is only $560B (2010 end estimates) Do the simple math. Will losing $53B in revenues from the US be devasting considering +$200B surplus. The US will be happy to see that result. The US is at a disgraceful -$560B yearly budget. They are about to raise the debt ceiling again which may lower treasury, bonds, and ohter ratings.
