  • @OutDoorsExpertiece I'm not sure, but if you go to yahoo answers they can probably help you. Always lots of people in the fish section.

  • Very Nice! Check out my fish

  • great looking tank, hom many gallons? did you make it?

  • @simoncanela - no, he just shot a few videos in the zoo

  • awesome setup, I just started my tank with one of those green texas fish, he's an asshole though, he took over this fake treasure chest I have in there for decoration, and every time my pacu get even near it, he's all over em, kinda funny really, he's about half the size. lol

  • @nobunsylvia

    ahhh... i see^^

Those catfish are awesome, you should think about uploading some videos of your tank(s).

  • Very nice tank. I have a thing for wood/plant combo's.

  • @Sursion7

The only way a good tank should be decorated.^^

  • No the name of regualar texas is Cichlasoma Cyanoguttatum.

  • @ryanpatrickkenneth

Yes, you are totally right. "Herichthys cyanoguttatus (Cichlasoma cyanoguttatum)" and "Herichthys carpintis" are sister-species. After some research in my books i found the following thing: If you look at the pattern of the scales and its altogether more silverish (bigger silverish dots with thinner dark edging) it's a "cyanoguttatum". And if it looks more like smaller silverish dots on a mostly darker body it's a "carpintis".

  • Can someone look at my video and tell me if this is a texas cichlid or a carpintis? tanks by the way nice cichlid man...

  • @ryanpatrickkenneth

Wait, wait, wait... The latin name of the green Texas cichlid is "Herichthys carpintis". So both names describe the same cichlid, don't they?

  • hopefully mine is a good one.

  • @mrHernandezify:

It will become one, if you take care for him. =)

  • oh nice. hope mine turn out as nice.

  • @Dodger20001:

Yours is still a nice little guy. =)

I'm looking forward to see him grow in your next video-updates.

  • thats a nice texas

  • Yes, true.

  • 0:14 is the smaller green texas a male or female...i have one the same & i wanna know the gender...thnx!!

  • The smaller one is a female. The bigger male got those forehead-humps. But that's only a clear differentiation when they are older.

  • i suscribe to you cuz i too likey the fishy :P where exactly is this zoo?

  • This is one of a few zoos that i filmed near my hometown. It's in Cologne, Germany.

  • why wood you tape a zoo not your own fish tank

  • I also tape my own fishtanks. Just watch my playlists. But i also like to watch and tape other tanks.

  • That is a good question! +1

  • was the first fish a jack dempsey?

  • Hi! No there are only green Texas cichlids in this tank.

  • your videos are incredible. I would love to start a Cichlid tank but I need a large tank for that and after I got my 125gallon and put my 2 Alligator Gars and Oscars into it I have no more room for a new tank.

  • Thank you.

Alligator Gars become very huge, not a good fish for a fish tank, i think.

Why don't you think about a smaller alternative.

  • I already have one Alligator Gar.

  • all your vids are amazing, cheers for that. i also agree with the others that you should become a wildlife photographer or something to that extent. once again great job

  • Hi, thank you!

    I keep it up.^^

  • man you do a good job on filming why dont to have a job with it

  • Hi, thank you very much. It's ony my hobby. I need better equipment badly. (I also hope i'll earn more money as a mechanical engineer.)

  • I caught a Texas cichlid the other day on a spinner bait, gave a pretty good fight for its size. Then released it.

  • I'm not into angling.

  • will u guys give me ideas on what fish i should get i got a new tank an the only fish i have is electric blue jack demsey and electric blue crayfish gimme some ideas oh ya if u wondering 300 gl tanik so gimme alot ideas thxxx (:

  • Wow, 300 gallon is a awesome size. I would think about a "Middle-America-themed" tank: Another jack dempsey, to get a pair of it. Maybe pairs of: Midas cichlid (Amphilophus citrinellus) Yellow belly cichlid (Cichlasoma salvini) Convict cichlid (Cryptoheros nigrofasciatus) Rainbow Cichlid (Herotilapia multispinosa) and some: swordtails (Xiphophorus helleri) platyfish (Xiphophorus maculatus) Molly (Poecilia velifera)
  • I 'm a big fan of your vidoes you should become a wildlife cinematographer or something of that nature. What a remarkable job of filming all these beautiful aquariums. Keep up the great work.

  • Wow, thank you very much!

I wanna share my impressions and i will keep it up! :)

Add me as a friend and subscribe for at least one new video weekly.

  • anoter or two jack dempses, apistograma cichlids three or six of them, pair of convicts, one or two baby flower horn, and coradoras catfish. lots of plants, anchord to the bottom

  • Watch the Videos of ichtussie. The ones that are called "Harrie's 1660 literbak" are videos of a 430 us gallon middle-america-themed tank. It's a great example. Try: /results?search_type=&search_query=Harrie's+1660+literbak&aq=f

  • I love teas cichlids. They seem to have awesome personalities for fish. I just picked up one about 2 months ago. He is in my 55gal, with other beautiful cichlids. All south american except for my african peacock. He seems to get along great with the south americans.
