  • I've been wanted to learn Swedish for a little while.

It's kind of weird because I have never had much knowledge of the language.

I'm in love with the country though, and would love to go up and live there for some time. While I'm at Uni I am hoping to learn the basics. Any advice on where to get started?

  • @dontmakelemonade well this is a good start.

i will also suggest Transparent Language they have specific Languages CDRoms &

one for learning swedish about 50 Dollars well worth it.

you can even search Ebay & buy a used one (if avalible)

  • The girl sounds about 10 nice to see so many people ''in love'' with it :S...anyways thank you this helps I'm subbing.

  • @Iareorgas What exactly is the point with saying: "The girl sounds about 10" - to offend me, or what? I'm 25 years old and quite frankly I am glad to not sound like an old woman.

  • @GoSwedish lol I didn't say it to offend you so the point in saying it, is because thats how you sound! deal with it.

  • @Iareorgasm I do deal with it. It's not the first time I have heard it, dear. I really thank you! :)

  • @GoSwedish Yeah, but your voice is like unreal. It's like silk to your ears... Thought about voice-acting?

  • @Iareorgasm you dont sound your age. by 25 you're supposed to have matured vocally

  • i love u

  • Than you sooo much :)

I'm wondering, do you have an accent in Sweden? What I mean is, in Sweden, would someone say you have a sourthen/northern/etc accent? I'm looking forward to a foreign exchange and I'm using this to help me keep up on my Swedish, but I was wondering if when I go there, they'd wonder how an American got a southern accent... :P

  • @UniversalInc Yes she is from Stockholm i guess.

  • @UniversalInc Yes, even in Sweden we have different accents depending a little on where we´re born.

  • I bet you swedish is really hard and that's unbelievible.

  • I am just starting to learn. I became interested from the music. Mainly Swedish Hip hop. But does it take long to get a good grasp? Will I learn faster if I surround myself with the language and music?

  • @thafuknouz Excuse my late reply. You will definitely learn quicker if you surround yourself by Swedish; people speaking Swedish, Swedish movies, reading Swedish and also Swedish music - real the lyrics as well. I can only speak from experience as this is how I taught myself English. I learned it from movies, books, music and by surrounding myself around the language.

  • Tack !!!

  • @Mikemugee Varsågod!

  • Åh, förresten. En bra grej kan vara att sätta ordet direkt i en kort mening, och liksom prova säga orden på 2 eller 3 sätt. Alltså t.e.x ett formellt och ett mer casual som folk pratar.

  • Good job at teaching swedish! Är du norrlänning? Jag tycker mig känna igen det, men jag kan helt fel också :-)

  • Tack for this (tack all I can remember haha)

Got a long way to go!! English native speaker love Sweden so much love northern country's!!!!!!!

  • please upload some more video.please,,please..this is the best video..

  • @22sansu I promise I will! I am truly working on it! I miss having new videos up. Thank you so much for your lovely words.

  • I'm from Italy, trying to learn Swedish all by myself... Your video is very useful, I think I'm going to see the other ones from you! TACK!

  • where is your accent from? When i hear some of my swedish friends speak the pronounce "med" differently. It sounds like "mèd" if you're familiar with french ponctuation...

  • @buffteak Well, I'm born in Stockholm. I want to teach people proper Swedish and therefore I teach you all to pronounce all letters and I don't skip any letter at the end of certain words such as "Med" and "Jag" - many do skip the last letter in these words but it's either a dialect OR most of all just slobby Swedish. Sorry to say; I know many don't like to hear this. I skip letters too when I don't care to speak properly but it sounds ugly. Sadly I'm not familiar with French, I'm sorry.

  • You have such a sweet voice! Definitely want to learn Swedish from you!

  • @stealerofthesoulkat Well, how wonderful is this to hear! I welcome you to the adventure. Let's Go Swedish, my dear. You are so kind to say such a kind thing about my little voice; this voice of mine will be the voice repeating in your mind.... Are you really sure you can handle this? :)

  • I love this video, so clear and funny way to learn, tack!

Jag är ny på svenska, jag älskar denna video, så tydlig och rolig. tack.

(still confused about some words though )......!

  • @Sarah1978Jaber Hey there! Excuse my very late reply but the new version of YouTube confuses me and it messes with me when I try to answer to comments. I am not feeling this new YouTube for you cannot reach certain buttons. Grrr. However, I did see your comment you posted 1 week ago. I am glad that you like my video and that you found it funny. That is wonderful. I thank you SO much for your words and well done on your Swedish. Tack så mycket för din kommentar.

  • for some reason when you speak english i image Dessie(dessire nilsson) speaking....i only just heard her song..

  • Thanks so much for this video. It has helped me a lot. You are a very good teacher (:

  • you're not meant to pronounce the 'g' in 'jag' though.

  • @bisforbambi Yes actually, that is a common mistake by us swedish people, you're actually supposed to pronounce the 'g', but you don't have to if you don't want to.

  • Nu andra kommer att kunna tala svenska! : D Hur snällt av dig. :)

  • @13acklashRuneScape actually it is: Nu kommer andra kunna tala svenska :) AND hur snällt som helst av dig OR väldigt snällt av dig. :D :D

  • @44azza Jag talar bara svenska .. : /

  • @13acklashRuneScape

How kind of you = Vad snällt av dig

  • I have a question about "senare." In the US, we sometimes say "later!" as a goodbye instead of "see you later." Is that ever done in Sweden?

  • @MadHatterMCR Yes, absolutely, we do. That is also a way to say "see you soon" which would be "See you later" so in Swedish that will be: Vi ses senare. Here are some more: "See you = Vi ses" - "See you soon = Vi ses snart" - "See you later = Vi ses senare" - pretty easy, huh? Only the last word changes in each sentence and those are translated literally. "Snart" means "soon" and "Senare" simply means "Later".

  • @GoSwedish Thanks! =)

  • @MadHatterMCR I really hope my earlier comment makes sense. I hope it's not too much information in one comment. By the way, I always say "See you later" in Swedish. "Vi ses senare!" :)

  • @MadHatterMCR No we don't say "later", we have to say more words or it sounds wierd. For example " see you later " or " see you ", not only "later" because that sounds wierd in a directly translation.

  • @44azza Thank you!

  • :D shalom

thumbs up if you agree!!! Thats all 4 today!

    Love, a Canucks fan <3

  • Det där var ju awesome. :O Men du låter ung GoSwedish. :p
