@antigen4 ok there mr pro.... someone doesn't read descriptions and annotations.... they're there for a reason... In fact, let me summarize them in a sentence for you...
This simulation is not technically accurate but was only constructed for one purpose, and that is to show how packets travel and how they are handled on the devices.
That's it, plain simple. If you can't even understand that, then sure... why not go and see a real and much more complex tutorial? like you said. Feel free.
Did you change the icons? If not I'm not impressed since these are (appear to be) all switches... But I'm pretty sure that if you would make something like this today, it would be more advanced and have more than just Switches and Cross over cables? Right...?
cheater, using switches and naming them routers :P still really awesome! This also helped me a lot, got my physical exam for my CCNA this Thursday, passed my multiple choice exam last week! rather proud :3 but still, thanks, this was useful :)
@contactravi2000 Thanks, haven't really received any comment in a while who understood what I'm trying to do in this video... heh, maybe they should try reading the description or the stuff I wrote about this that this isn't an actual technically accurate simulation... It's just built to show how the dev-- wait, I don't think I need to explain this over again...
@zaghy2zy good work due...now listen i have a project on network simulation and i need ur guidence so give me ur facebook id so that i can talk to u about the project....!!
You did a very nice job creating this video. The music is a bit intense, but it kept me awake, so that is not an entirely bad thing. Good job man. Don't be so hard on yourself about the mistakes. they are minor and did not really affect the video at all.
Is it possible to connect two wireless routers together using packet tracer,i have no idea how to do it i understand WDS needs to be enabled, but in the router config it isnt there, and when i try to connect a wirless computer to it using a straight through cable it doesnt connect.
Well, i attempted to connect two routers together wirelessly in my house so i wouldnt have to use a wirless adapter, using the router will speed up the network connection i tried everything and it wouldnt work, so i wanted to simulate it on packet tracer to see how its done.
Are you configuring the routers? The two wireless routers should be on the same network with the same subnet mask. Try making the first router 192.168.1.1 and the second router 192.168.1.2 and the subnet masks should be 255.255.255.0. I dont know if theres anything else you have to configure I havent used packet tracer in almost a year and my networking is a little rusty.

Check Information at the right, I've updated it so that people don't need to ask :)
even though I've placed the information about it at the end credits... because some people like me don't watch end credits.... hahaha honestly, I RARELY watch end credits, hahahaha but some people watch it so I've decided to add it anyways...
since they are using e-mail, they would be using POP, post office protocol, as well as TCP/IP for transport,i not sure, but i think the letters that were sent twice represent ACKs for the transport.
this is stupid and awful - see TCP/IP complete Tutorial for the real deal.

As I said, i wasn't good at this and this wasn't an accurate or even close to the real thing....
please read the description pleas?
zaghy2zy 3 years ago
zaghy2zy still did a good job with the sim no matter what protocols the sim used.
Basically, the idea was to have others understand packet switching, (it still shows packet interaction at least at the layer 2 device level).
Just consider it as intranet transmission instead of internet.
Cut a guy some slack. It's still a cool sim.
:)
kurizzos 3 years ago
Yeah.. Fair play. I still watched the whole vid :) PacketSim is a nightmare to work with anyway, you got further than I ever could be bothered to!

now version 5.0 is available
oziash 3 years ago
Wait, hold up a sec.
You're using switches instead of routers!
LOL
But still, great sim. More than what I did with Packet Tracer...
kurizzos 3 years ago
I am aware of that,...
I used switches just to simulate a sample "not even real" internet, so please pardon me for the technical mistakes
zaghy2zy 3 years ago
Correction: SMTP...
Err... sorry. Maybe the envelopes represent the IP packet ideology.
;)
kurizzos 3 years ago
The software is okay.
PRO: Great in understanding OSI lower layer device interactions, including routers' modules and NVRAM/CLI commands.
CON: Not all protocols and commands are available for configuration.(Darn...)
Overall, it's pretty swank software.
By the way, zaghy2zy, nice SMTP simulation!

I tried once this software, but honestly nothing worked ;), I think I should attend CCNA course before!
