You've got the mechanics wrong- the movement in his hips is the result of his shifting weight (a lateral movement) over the supporting leg and, perhaps, over-working the thigh muscle of the working leg. His legs are adequately stretched and supported. Look at the shape of his working arm- if anything, he's "dropping" into his back.
His arches are amaaaaaazing.
