Eh....the Japanese version of the finale was better. They played that "DAN-DAN" song during the flashback without any of the characters talking and at the very end the narrator just says "that is the Goku we all loved". It was a much more triumphant goodbye to the fans.
If I was the creator of the dragonball series, then I would put on a final episode where goku reunites with his father and his brother in the other world.

Which explains why he appears at the end of GT and in the GT movie nearly 100 yrs after DBZ. It would make sense, the one who wanted eternal life the least is the one who recieves it.

Such a great and sad ending. when i was watching the flashbacks i was thinking Why are they going to back the to dragon ball era." "Why are they showing memorable scenes from dragon ball z" "why is Goku waving goodbye" And then it hits you.
I love this ending! both with american and japanese music! one of the many reasons I love GT! even if you don't like GT you have to at least admit that this is a much better ending than Dragon Ball Z's ending.

I just shed a single tear. And I never cry!!!! I started watching this when I was 2 ( I'm 11 now) my cousin got me so into it. I never really followed the story. Now I'm 11 and I freaking know almost everything about it know and guess what?!!? All I'm left with is Dragon Ball Z Kai. Like this or comment reply if you think this suks great ape balls!!

Such a great and sad ending. Only problem I have is that it doesn't put enough emphasis on all the Z fighters especially Vegeta and Piccolo nd I dont jus say this cuz Vegeta is my fave character.Its mainly cuz of everything that the Z fighters do it wasnt just Goku saving the world the Z fighters were like a team.Vegeta was an essential part in beating OmegaShenron nd KidBuu.Also Hercule is the man his statue is just epic lol

@mauriziosaviotti first off after goku killed omega shenron he left his family with the original dragon then like 60 or 70 years later goku jr and vegeta jr fight and goku watching so gokus like 80 which make no sense but still full blooded sayins don't age after like 30 so that y he looks so long . The goku jr movie was before goku jr and vegeta jr fight

Even though the ending is sad, I, like most fans, don't believe that GT is canon to the actual series since it wasn't created by Akira Toriyama.

Goku... A Saiyan who has the power to control the whole universe but he wouldn't even hurt a bug... how could someone be so pure, yet so powerful.
Even if you'd be furiously mad at Goku and tried to insult him, somehow he would change that into a happy memory... He's the I mean THE CHOSEN ONE.

OMFG K im lost. WTF happennddd. I saw 3 vids one with goku flying off with shenron into who knows where, this one which is supposed to be the end of the series and One with goku jr. WTFF. If goku flew off with shenron in the end of gt when did this vid come into play!?!? What happend to goku when he left everyone. And what movie is goku jr in?!?!? all these different vids mixed up the series for me >:C

when i was watching the flashbacks i was thinking Why are they going to back the to dragon ball era." "Why are they showing memorable scenes from dragon ball z" "why is Goku waving goodbye" And then it hits you.

I love this ending! both with american and japanese music! one of the many reasons I love GT! even if you don't like GT you have to at least admit that this is a much better ending than Dragon Ball Z's ending.

Man this was the saddest moment of my life. I've watched the series since it started on Toonami in the late 90's all the way to the end. Even I cried when I saw the scenes. It was beautiful!

Love this ending. I remember the first time I saw it. It's great. One thing I never got though, the Dragon Balls merged with Goku, so....is he like the Eternal Dragon now or is he just being trained by the eternal dragons or what?
I'm picturing Shenron, Porunga, Goku, and Grandpa Gohan playing Poker in some far off dimension for some reason.
I would like to see one special where Piccolo gets out of hell and makes it to heaven, ultimate redemption after King Piccolo and coming full circle.
