I'm a big fan of Acura and have owned two. Quality cars and very reliable. I just wish they would've stretched the new RL out a little bit more. Its their "flagship" car but doesnt have that flagship presence. Size wise its not much bigger than a 5 series BMW and just slightly bigger than the TL. Will Acura ever come out with a V-8 RL? Even Lexus and their mid sized GS 430 offers a V-8.

Well depends what kind of Benz you're talking about.

I'm sure most people commenting here have never sat in a 50K+ Benz model...If you have, you'd know Mercedes quality is much much better than Lexus. Reliability, Lexus takes it pretty much any day.

That is why Mercedes is the highest selling luxury car in the world, and most ballas buy Benz over Lexus and BMW.

And to the person thinking about getting this car, it's an alright car, very luxurious compared to the TL and other cars in that class, however..I'm not sure if you're going to be satisfied with the bang for your buck with this RL..

RL is known to be a sitting duck compared to Benz, BMW

I'd definitely go with a BMW 328i or an Audi A4...None of Acura models really cut it compared to these brand.

Possibly, even the ES Lexus is a better bang for your buck.

This is a really nice car. It is the next car im gonna get, there is just soo many features in this car and I've test driven one and I love it sooo much. I'm not a fan or Mercedes or Lexus, but BMW is nice. Gonna wait til I find a good deal on a 2005 RL though. :)

this may be worth getting in the future as it's price drops. i live in america and not that much can be gained from 17k. right now rl's are about 23k from 2005. if i wait about 3-5 yrs (cuz that's my yrs in college) i maybe able to grab this vehicle. i know it seems weird but in thsi day and age gotta start preparing for the future. and my future has a family involed who should ride in something not unfomortable or embarassing.

I'm a huge Honda fan, but not really a fan of Acura myself, but I think RL is the best. It's got Japanese reliability(Which means it does not fall apart easily like the European cars like BMW and Merc do), Honda heritage and most importantly, luxurious at good price(I mean the used ones. A new RL is too expensive in my opinion)

And oh, you don't find many people driving this car, when there are just too many people driving BMW and Merc.

Wow. What a bargain in the States! Prices starting at USD 46.000. In Finalnd the Acura RL (sold as a Honda Legend) is priced at USD 106.000! So, at over USD 100k it's a very, very expensive and exclusive dream car for most of us :(

The RL has always been a great car but always an underdog in this particular market segment. It's very sad that Acura made this generation RL so damn fugly! If they made it as handsome as the new TL and gave the RL real horsepower, it would be able to compete better against its rivals.

agreed its so ugle the old version was great man I was a proud owner of the 97 special spoiler silvermist. Nice euro look but glossy gleam side-front angle gave it a mean 'girls cream in the heated seated seams' type sport look with the spoiler

My Dad has a 2006 Opulent Blue w/ Taupe leather RL. It's comfortable but what TICKS me off is the fact that is doesn't have cooled front seats. The Honda Legend in Japan has the cooled seats! Since it costs $50,000 it should have rear air control but that's just my opinion. If you put pedal hard, the exaust note is real nice.

My dad drives the TSX; he says that the RL is a nice car, but for the price, it could have been better. BMW could be worth that price, or somewhere around there.
