@mightybeangal22 I can't recall what music track I used, I'm not at my sims/movie computer at the moment, but once I am I'll check the audio file and let you know :) It's one of the Royalty free downloads at freeplay I think.
Well I am having a nice day getting started on this series and just finished episode 4. Great story, pacing, voices, and a lot on patience put into this.
@bellableu23 lol, I don't do the voice acting when anyone is around. My parents are quite liberal though, so don't mind really. I'm also an adult, lol, I'm 19, so can get away with it far more.
@SSMusicProductions so u do the voice acting urself? i'm trying to voice all my characters on my series but can't find a free voice changing software wat kind do u use?
@naturallysweettv I don't do all the voices, lol, a friend does the female voices except Alyssa, who is voiced by another. So it's a case of two of us playing lots of roles lol. I don't use any voice changing software as such, but I do use devious audio processing at times, like slight pitch shifting, eq, and other techniques. Myself and my co-actor are natural impressionists and have acting experience, so we can naturally modify our voices to a certain extent. Have fun with your series :)
These series are oddly entertaining..haha I swear at first I was like...hmm sims series? weird...but it's very entertaining...keep them coming..I'll make sure to watch the rest today ;)
@Eiram92 Thanks :) I don't actually play the sims, but it's a decent engine for making movies. I've totally corrupted the game though, lol. It's cool you're enjoying the series.
@wikkidvampyre Thanks. I reckon you wouldn't have any problems doing a similar fight scene. I admit, I was really lucky when filming the fight scene, everything worked as planned first take. Most of it is devious editing though ;)
how many episodes do youi plan on having? Just a question because if yoou're really into this series it could go on until about 30 episodes. But then there's the classic: "School's eating me up and I don't have time to do these things...." yada yada yada. It's very refined and original this story is.
Hmm, not sure to be honest. It's more like a 45 min show, with one proper episode being 4 youtube eps, so even if it only has twelve 45 min episodes, that's 48 parts, yikes. Not to mention if more seasons are done, so they'll be quite a few :) The series doesn't really interfere with studies as I'm quite disciplined and a hyperactive insomniac (don't need much sleep, lol).
@SSMusicProductions look this is some really really cool vids but .........wow ok i know what your thinking and too all the people on youtube i say I'M A GIRL! THIS IS MY BROS ACCOUNT ok ok =) anyway cool vids see ma next talk thing on the next vid BYE
do you get people to do voice overs? they are so tidily set into the sims 3 video, how do u do it?
where do u get urbackground noises as well?
your one of the best editors and video directors of 3sims 3 hat ive seen so far...realy really impressed. ive subscribed, please help me with my questions tho!
Thanks :) The voices are acted by three of us (me included) although one of the actors only plays one character, so we have to do various accents/voices to make them sound different. Syncing the words to footage can be very tough, but there are tricks I use, using what I call filler shots, maybe focus on the listener's face, or scenery in the room to make it flow better. The background sounds (music too) are from several sites/sources, which are credited in the info section. Hope that helps :)
The music to the last scene is funny... like wild west!
Like the mad dark red haired woman... she played her role very well!
And I know... it's not easy to show a realistic fight with sims... but your fight looks good. Thinking you must be very very happy about the first expansion...
The music at the end was intentionally funny, and it's so cool you found it amusing too. My co-actor who played the mad red haired woman appreciates your comments. The fight scenes were tough I admit, but the expansion has made this a lot easier :)
Thanks. That was devious camera angles and lighting. I've been toying with the idea of having a red glow in his eyes to signify his murderous intentions as it would be cool, and have been experimenting with the best way to achieve this (this is my first machinima so I'm still learning how to do FX and stuff). Green/blue screening seems to work. I also plan to add more complex FX as I discover how they're done.
Omg........ Now I think you're the bad guy xDD Now I see, I am not bad at all.. Okay.. So. ;DD Add me? I totally sub for you, and added to faivorites, because this was.. Amazing. I liked that part:
Just watched eps 1-4. It started out a little bit slow for me but it's picking up now. I'm really impressed with how creatively you've used the Sims to tell your story. I appreciate the hard work that you've put into it, I can understand, since I make Sims movies too, how tough it can be sometimes to manipulate your Sims. I know that I use lots of cheats and lots of game mods. Keep up the good work. I'll be watching for updates.
Awesome :) Thanks. It started a bit slow as I'm pacing it more like a TV series, and it's also sort of based on a book I'm writing, so they'll be quite a few eps, but it's now starting to get more intricate, and fun. It's amazingly awesome seeing characters and plotlines come to life visually in a movie. The Sims 3 engine is great for making movies, although scripting would be useful, heh. Sets and characters are so quick and easy to create.
I also use mods, mainly a core debugger (would be a nightmare without it, heh), and a few tuning mods, plus a couple of custom mods too. I agree though, sometimes it's like trying to herd cats. Also, filming outdoors can be a pain in the daytime as I've had random NPCs approach the characters and break their no free will by talking to them, or just getting in the way of my carefully set up shot. A few have been strategically removed from world due to this though, mwahahaha.
Hah, that's a good idea! Why didn't I just get rid of the NPCs? Whenever they start chatting with my characters, I'll break it up and change camera angles to not include the NPC, but why work around them? I could just make them disappear forever, haha. I agree, Sims 3 is a pretty decent tool for making movies, and with the new expansion pack coming soon, hopefully we will get more animations and props to work with. Oh, btw, back up everything you're working with. I lost a whole neighborhood.
Heh, I usually check out the location and if any of the NPCs looks like they'll be trouble I remove them before they even get a chance to cause filming mayhem. Looking forward to the expansion pack, Egypt should create some awesome footage. I always back up each episode on DVD, including the raw footage, sounds, etc as I know what it's like to lose stuff you've been working on for weeks.
I try to avoid copyright issues otherwise youtube disables the sound, that's why I only use Royalty free music or sounds that I have permission to use. If I use an actual song it will most likely be disabled, depending on the label, although I have used part of a sort of song in the next ep, mwahahahahahahahaha.
Thanks :) I thought I'd have difficulties with the fighting scenes but I was lucky and it seemed to work first take. Improvisation really helps :) Although it cracked me up every time I loaded the game with the Sim3 music and happy family avatar for the save game. It seemed so wrong somehow, heh.
Thanks - now the introductory scenes are done I can focus more on story arc, subplots and character development. I'm pacing it more like a TV series/movie. The fun is about to begin :)
Filming is complete - just need to add music, sound FX and do the VOs (which I won't get a chance to do until the weekend), so hopefully it'll be done before start of next week :)
Hope you get better soon. I'm twitchy to get the next ep finished and it's mostly done except the VOs. It'll be a fun ep to voice act though, mwahahaha.
What is the name of the song at 05:14?
