Lovely performance. The only recording of this song I'd ever heard before was Reba McEntire's (her 1987 album Merry Christmas To You). I think I'm partial to Reba's recording because (a) I heard that one first and (b) I'm a huge Reba fan. But this is a great performance and a wonderful song.

Keith Whitley co-wrote and recorded the Christmas song, There's a New Kid in Town. It's been done by several other artists since then [Alan Jackson, Darryl Worley, Kathy Matea, Trisha Yearwood, to name a few], but George Strait's cover of it on his 1986 Christmas album "Merry Christmas Strait to You" is the best.

This video is from one of my collections,I remember it was hard to remove the noise from the previous scene.There used to be more people with this out there but this one was the only one I found.Thats David Slater on piano who went on to win the big million dollar'You can Be A Star'thing whith Ed McMahon,or however you spell it!!!
