@Twilightnightynight It's sort of mandatory. I guess you could skip out on it but it will leave those two stray strings in the very center. If you're okay with that you could do it though- that or add a seed bead to the two strings that are in the center prior to making the bottom of the diamond.

Hello, I have a question. Can I make it 8 strings instead of 6? I mean, would the pattern "support" the idea of having six string of the same colour and 2 of one (all already folded)? By the way, you're amazing ;)

@Brynchka Yes, but there would be additional steps. There would pretty much be one more of every step on either side. If the diamond is 5bk and 5fk then adding more it would become 6bk and 6fk and so on.

@juliavalentesilva It wouldn't look like designated diamonds if you change too many colors. I'd change the background strands (or) the diamond strands, but not both.

@loler109 First, are you making the proper knots? Second, are you pulling tight enough? If you're doing them properly and pulling tight enough I'm not sure what could be wrong. You could upload a video showing me what you're doing and I can try to help- that or send in a picture of the catastrophe and I can try to look and see what could be going wrong.

@The101Bracelets Well, you do need to pull upward even if you pull to the side. It's kind of a combined motion. Up and out is how I do it. You can make a video if you are still having issues, I might be able to tell if I see you actually making it.

@Analcuntfocking If this is the first bracelet you're trying to make I'd understand completely. The mixed knots confuse quite a few people.

Go to my channel and check out the "Help Section" playlist. I have a bunch of videos explaining how to properly pull the strings, how to make all four types of knots and common issues like "gaps" in the bracelet as well as knot flips which many beginners have trouble with.

But yeah... you're not too dumb. Try a few candystripes and chevrons first. <3

@BieberAli Use just two strands and practice forward knotting and backward knotting, then try some mixed ones. Get the hang of it with fewer strings so you don't waste much. Bigger strings like yarn might be more helpful while getting used to it.
