Killing an animal is like killing a baby. If the animal has grown a respect and closeness to you, they don't think that they will be killed or destroyed by that "loved one". Killing an adult who has no prior mental illness or disability (autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, etc.) is a disgusting situation, but the "normal" adult has a chance (for the most part) to defend themselves. Not all cases, but puppies and kittens? No. When you do such a thing it is pure evilness and horror.
