  • SO COLD BEER AND HOT FOOD LOST THE WAR? IT COULD BE TRUE . IF YOU YANK A YOUNG MAN OFF OF MAIN STREET NORTH AMERICA , AND DROP HIM INTO A FOREIGN WAR , WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ? NO ONE, ESPECIALLY THE GENERAL POPULATION IS READY FOR WAR . THIS THE SECOND MILLENNIA , NOT SPARTA .

    GIANFRANCO FRONZI SEPTEMBER /2011

  • zdychac!1

  • nienawidze was amerykanie

  • Laurence Fishburne was almost a kid in this movie !! Dancing Satisfaction in an amazing scene !!

  • @56ALEXX He was a kid! He lied about his age to get a role in this movie, said he was 18 but he was actually 14!

  • @7652642576265fgdrs4h

It would be worse if he was 18 pretending to be 14 :P

  • Morpheus don't dance !!!

  • Stupid americans

  • There is but one war movie masterpiece this is it.

  • Imagine starting parachuting at 38? Kutrz must've been true lunatic lol!

  • @workingclassbum Korean War: The forgotten

  • @workingclassbum

How about "WW2: Worst consequences" ?

  • @dachefffkoch Well that kinda ruins the joke, doesn't it?

  • @workingclassbum I don't want to be an asshole, really... But are you rating wars like if they were movies? I mean, because that goes a bit against what Apocalypse Now teaches... -.-

  • @GBTTKvideos Thats not the correct order, and some of the films You said shouldnt even be in there... say it's your opinion.

  • @JordanEvans3794 Fuck you!, nerd!

  • @GBTTKvideos what about saving private ryan, black hawk down, Schindlers list, the bridge on the river Kwai,The great escape, The Deer hunter, Platoon, Lawerence of Arabia...........

  • @TheTallonTimes Saving Private Ryan would have been 6. Black Hawk down was good but not one of my favourites. Schindlers list isnt much about fighing but a good War Drama, The Bridge on the River Kwai was a classic not one fo my favourites, The Great escape was pretty good, Platoon ( i thought) was boring and the ending was realy stupid, The Deer hunter is all about Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder and only 17 minutes they are in Vietnam, lawrence of Arabia wasmy favourite when i was a lot younger

  • the best vietnam war movie is We were soldiers , not Apocalipse now , apocalipse is nica but not the best !!!

  • Is this from the original version or is it Redux? I mean, I know it was in the theatrical version but editing-wise.

  • 9 people didn't like Morpheus' dancing

  • IT'S CHARLIE SHEEN'S BADASS DADDY

  • a film about destiny ,... about going down to hell , where you meet with yourself, with your real you.

Every character represents a group of people. The blacks, the white guy with drugs, the militar who stars to think abuot the insanity of that war...

  • imagine this with the benny benassi song instead of rolling stones

  • Martin is 'winning' in this movie. In fact, they were all great.. Martin Sheen suffered Method Actor's madness and had a heart attack working for the cause. Charlie would have just been bangin' 7 gram rocks and hookers.

This is still probably one of my favorite movies, next to Blade runner and A L I E N

  • incredible film

  • what sheen ever... CHARLIE DON'T SURF!

  • Questo è il miglior film della guerra del Vietnam!!!

  • Such a great film, RIP Mr Clean!

  • The director (Francis Coppola) commented on making this movie (Cannes - 1979) "My film is not about Vietnam, it ís Vietnam!" _Hero_!

  • All of my friends can't believe that this is Martin NOT Charlie XD!

  • @erwinruys its martin his father

  • @MYB92 Ehmm, when I say that all of my friends don't believe it. Then THEY don't know that it is Martin not Charlie. And yes I am aware of the fact that martin is charlie's dad.

  • Nine hass hole don't like !!!! shit !

  • Willard ist like: WTF! This is war!

  • 1.50-2.08 so true: the Americans were out of their comfort zone. The Viet Cong had a shit time of it too but were happier than the Americans in the jungle; didn't expect R&R etc

  • martin sheen looked so much like his son looks now

  • Morpheus before he started all the Red Pill Blue Pill BS

  • Nice dance Morpheus!!

  • Good plan, I love the smell of Napalm in the morning.

  • So far 9 Victor Charlies pressed the dislike button..

  • @MercedesW126Diesel than napalm them!

  • how old was bubba-lawrence fishburn-during the filming

  • @sweed762

15 he lied about his age

  • young morphious

  • those guys were suppose to be an early version of SWCC

  • Stop tryin' to hit me and hit me!

  • Killing is wrong.

    Torture is where its at

  • Damn, 20 years sure made Lawrence Fishburn's voice deeper. Compare him here to Morpheus in the Matrix.

  • That's a very young Lawrence Fishburn dancing.

  • Clean,Mr Clean was from some South Bronx shithole and now he's a head honcho on CSI Vegas.Well done,Bubba.

  • Comment removed

  • @snatchhog So killing bad guys is wrong?

  • I don't see what all the fuss is about. War seems pretty fun!

  • @aquanaut145 You would loose that stupid opinion about 3 seconds after a bullet cracked over your head and you realized that these people want to kill you. War may be fun for the people that don't have to fight it, You try getting shot at, shit blowing up next to you and mortars and RPG rounds coming in on you are totally different. See how fun it is when the guy you ate with an hour ago now has his eyes blown out of his skull and a chunk of his skull is missing from an IED that you never saw.

  • @Gunfighter1b I think he was being sarcastic do to the light nature of this scene. Either that or he was trolling for a response like yours. I dont think he honestly believes that war is fun.

  • @aquanaut145 ,War is not funny.it can kill you or fuck you up.its not a video game or movie.if you ever were in country you would not think it is fun.

  • Comment removed

  • @aquanaut145 It's all fun in games until someone gets their legs blown off....and their arms........and other parts of their body.

  • @aquanaut145 Its a blast, You shood seriously consider shipping out to some god-forsaken 3rd world shit hole where computers dont exist.

  • Wilard is Charlie sheens father can you see the resemblance

  • The movie's not even about Vietnam, and the scenario is such bogus. I love it.

  • only just found out that martin isn't the voice-over voice, it's his son. how weird is that?

  • whats name music , please

  • @giovannyluigi (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones

  • martin sheen was just excllwnt in the movie

  • this is one of the best scenes ever made

  • Top 3 all time 'Nam flicks:

    1) Full Metal Jacket

    2) Apocalypse

    3) Forrest Gump

  • @RideMyBMW agreed!

  • lol both the sheens have been in vietnam movies

  • @BrawlyProductionz : Made millions from others sacrifice AND neither has actually done a thing in the way of service to their country themselves......IMAGINE THAT!?

  • @Harpenfarker get off your high horse..

  • @KINGKENNYTHEHOLY: Get off MY high horse?......Mines a donkey next to yours.... "KINGKENNYTHE HOLY"..the MORON HYPOCRITE!.

  • me and an old friend saw this movie when we was thirteen, and the movie was forbidden to <14 years (in Italy).. we were completely immersed in this modern myth

now we are 40 and the feeling is just the same...

  • Me and my brother saw this movie when I was twelve ..it still has the same affect today as it did when it first came out ..very powerful movie...a classic Vietnam movie..

  • forrest gump had its moments.... this is bit over rated

  • cool quote gulyaslikor.. real.

  • War is cool

  • @Winky395 easy to say that sittin on your ass in front of the computer

  • sucks to be you?

  • @h5n haha right on...

  • One of the greatest war-movies ever if not the greatest at all :)

  • war isn't so bad when you have the stones on the radio 8)

  • Awesome scene although I wish It could have be extended maybe showing the boat from the water skiers point of view. Such a dark film, its great to see happy tidbits such as this

  • i can get noo satisfacion

  • one of the greatest scenes ever!!!

  • Too bad that the poster of this clip doesn't realize that Apocalypse Now isn't actually about the Vietnam War at all. As bballrsv96 says it's Coppola's adaptation and interpretation of Joseph Conrad's book "Heart of Darkness" - which serves a completely different purpose then portraying a war.

  • @n0cTuRnALiTy Joseph Conrads book is about the white mans inhumanity to the rest of humanity. Coppola has used the same theme in relation to the theme closer in time. I think an artist has the riight to do so. After all we are all a compilation of our influences and experiences and we express them inorder to project our feelings or make money as most of Hollywood does.

  • Bloody war, but the best soundtrack ever!

  • believe me you wouldn't

  • This is one of the msot heartbreaking scenes of the film, the painful irony of what is going on with the troopers and kurtz's comments and the fact that this is thhe last moment of peace with the whole crew togethor, Clean's death being the most tragic of the film.

  • guys water sking that made me fall over laughing

  • the movie and the song they sure go together

  • oh it was in Apocalypse Now! I thought it was in Full Metal Jacket! and after I checked, it's also on Full Metal Jacket end credits.

  • RUN CHARLIE

    lol

  • It's Morpheus!

  • honour and glory to the vietnam's war veterans

  • This film doesn't show the people in war, but present the war in people. So far the best war-movie.

  • @gulyaslikor have you seen the thin red line...beats this any day...

  • @gulyaslikor Idk i still think platoon is better.

  • @gulyaslikor This and Saving Private Ryan

  • @gulyaslikor on of the BESTS comments i ever heard.

I cant understand people when they say :" this movie shows how bad america is"

when i read those comments im like :" WTF, u people dont understand a shit"

  • @gulyaslikor You are absolutely goddamn right.

  • "YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!"

  • this one is by far the best movie i have seen. there are more probably entertaining movies, but this is just like extistentialist action crazed phsycadelic madness

  • HAHAHAHAHAH,this is classic!!!!!!!!

  • This one goes out to my mate Chris who's all alone in the mental room out there.

  • as far as NAM movies goes this ones up there, i think full metal jacket captures it best - although i was not there it seemed very tragic in FMJ, platoon is really good... hamburger hill sucks dicks. tons of good WW films and mini series though. we need more vietnam movies... with the truth, was it a party were soldiers just got fucked up and killed ppl like most of them imply or was it different.

  • @BJZnRPZ If you were not there ,how can you know wich "captured it best"?

  • "ooo alriiiiiiight"

    favorate line lol

  • An outstanding movie, however, far from the most "realistic" Vietnam movie ever made.

  • Being realistic was not the goal of the movie, i think.

  • the purpose of the film is to delve into the psyche of the characters by portraying an "alternate, psychedelic" reality of the war. In other words, the vietnam war in the film is mirrored by what is going through the minds of the characters. This transition from a "real" vietnam to this "fake" vietnam is in the helicopter attack scene. The playing of Ride of the Valkyries is the physical representation of the transition.

  • actually, the purpose of this film is to put "Heart of Darkness", by Joseph Conrad, into a modern film setting.

  • nominated best movie of last 30 years !

  • I think this one is better than The Deer Hunter, because there is more insanity and action in it.

I do find that The Deer Hunter really shows how war can tear up peoples lives, even when it's already over...

  • I completely agree 100 percent with chileno39 ...

    Best movie EVER MADE!

  • best movie ever, i mean for me, there is nothing that comes even close

  • @chileno39 deerhunter?

  • i dunno, godfather and shawshank are up there.

  • watch the movie

  • magical birds

  • hall of fame

  • see the light...

  • good part of the movie

  • Rock & Rollers with one foot in the grave.

  • Best movie ever :-)

  • Fuckin' Fishburen's in key when he does the 'Yea!' I love that!

  • "CHARLIE DONT SURF!!!!!"

    or

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning." Should be on a T-shirt.

  • they are. you can get the t shirt in vietnam:)

  • Holy crap. I' buying them.

  • heh, nice one, while you are there you can visit the tunnels, eat great food, shoot anything from an ak to an rpg, have some clothes tailor made and soak up the history when you visit. I loved it. amazing country. This is also my number 1 film of all time...

  • The Cu Chi tunnels they take you to are FAKE tourist traps. They were built up beside the PAVN Army bases for revenue generation. All those above ground things you see on that tour would last about 5 min none of the original stuff had concrete, Cu Chi tunnels tour equals FAKE. BTDT. But great cheap silk shirts in Saigon tho.

  • i didn't visit the cu chi tunnels... i saw some different ones bud.

  • Ah' the real ones as i did?

  • I think they were the Vinh Moc tunnels in the Quang Tri province, up near the DMZ.

  • I have actually a "Charlie Don't Surf" T-shirt, can buy at some german shops

  • ...Awesome...

  • @PetrSilie You can get them at Zazzle .com.Lots of Nam era swag.Numbah One.

  • @FalconKPD Go to Zazzle.com.Lots of Nam shirts.Type in movie name and up they come.I served in the Nam with the Kiwi infantry and got a Charlie dont surf for Zazzle.com.

  • The part about the "fewer men, better soldiers" was spot on.

  • best movie ever

  • CHARLIE DONT SURF!!!!!

  • "I love the smell of Napalm in the Morning."

  • "what do you know about surfing major, your from god damn new jersey"

  • best vietnam movies are this deer hunter, platoon and full metal jacket ha charlie and emilio's dad

  • Another good one is Dogs of War. Deer Hunter and Apocolypse are the best tho.

  • never saw those but saw the ones i listed

  • What Apocalypse Now takes away from Heart of Darkness elevates it to another level. It is a movie not only about War, but also mans' soul and it's menacing capabilities. Truly a fantastic film.

  • What a great cast.

  • And yes..that is Larry Fishbourn...he was 17 in this movie.

  • Charlie Sheen? Are you fucking retarded?

  • hey come on they look very alike

  • is that charlie sheen

  • Its charlies father you mook....MARTIN.

  • yeah, its suprising how much charlie sheen looks like his father

  • Actually, he looks and talks more like Emilio.
