Dear Reza, could you please explain this verse to me, because on the face of it, i don't like it:
9:111Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain; ... Rejoice therefore in the pledge which you have made; and that is the mighty achievement.
Does that mean that I am an antiislamic bigot? To me as a non-muslim this is a profoundly personal question.

@bhigr I think you should have tour to go and see what your christian brothers did to bosnian women and muslims in chechenia and Sudan. Or what your christian brothers did to each others in WWII. Then it might change your idea a little bit although I do have any hope at all.

I used to be muslim, then i realized it was bullcrap... but i still support freedom of religion and a community center being built because its beneficial to the community and is better than that coat factory that was there earlier..

Whatever. Unless you have a Ph.D. in Islamic studies backed with YEARS of knowledge from traveling the world, you are in no place to make a comment that assumes that you know the cause of something you know very little about.
Oh and basing a religion on one region is like basing love on a failed relationship.

I myself was brought up under a muslim household and have studied islam and the history of islam (though I'm not a muslim), and still i lack the audacity to claim that i know enough to even comment on the causes of islamophobia.
Simply reading up on the Quran (quite possibly just one of the countless translations), Hadith, and the biography of Muhammad doesn't even mean you've begun to have a working knowledge of Islam or even the various interpretations of the religion.

People need to learn to think for themselves and not assume that what mommy says is right.

People should be terrified of Islam, especially in Europe where the birth rate is so great that the electorates will soon be able to impose shariah law. Reza, you have to understand that if you are non-religious like me, then Islam is just another crazy superstitious cult like the thousands of other religions. It's terrifying to see Islam grow. Now I resent Christianity as much as Islam but at this point in time, Christianity is benign in comparison to Islam, certainly more stable.
