I was so moved by this I started to cry. It's so amazing that SO many people would just STOP... and think... and lower their heads. I wish this kind of integrity lived in America.
"First they came for the communists, but I am not a communist, so I ignored them. Then they came for the Gypsies, but I am not a Gypsy so I ignored them. Then they came for the supporters of democracy, but I am non-political so I took no notice. Then they came for the Jews, but I am not a Jew so I ignored them. Then they came for me: they said I was not a nazi so I had to be taken away. I called out begging someone to help me but I was met with silence for there was no-one left to protest."
Do Israeli Arabs and anti-Zionist Jews like Neturei Karta acknowledge Yom Ha'Shoah? Yom Ha'Shoah has nothing to do with the State of Israel like Yom Ha'Zikaron and Yom Ha'Atzmaut, so they shouldn't have any problem with that, right?
Yom Hashoa have nothing with teh State of Israel? the state of Israel it's the state of the jewish people, and the holocaust was one of the most horroble things that happened to them.
yeah, i didn't said the most, because stupid people did many holocausts to the Jews.
and who know what was worse...
the Crussaders, the Romans, The Greeks, the Babylons, the Egyptians....
all of them tried to extreminate the jewish people...
I myself am an israeli citizen but I don't stand a moment of silence during the siren, because it doesn't really achieve its goal! I don't really "get reunited with the remembrance of the 6 millions" or something like that during that moment of silence...
No. It's a minute in year in which you think about all the victims, many of them don't have family to come to their grave, moreover some of them don't even have graves. So at least we can collectively think about them. It's some kind of memorial prayer.
Why people gather around grand zero at 11/9? It's important to remember.
Why do you pretend to have truth on your side and yet to censor everyone who shows any criticism? Is this not ipso facto proof that you fear the truth and open discussion?

Why would they remind them about something so awful? isn't that completely and utterly stupid??

Remembering the dead isn't stupid.
Why do memorials, philanthropic and benevolent foundations, gravestones, poems, and songs of such remembrance exist? For the same reason.
Not caring about the dead/not seeing the point in remembrance is your prerogative. Most of us though, being fully-human, have such sensitivities.
