I'd disagree. I drive a BMW 335i as its fast as an Evo yet gets decent fuel mileage and low emissions. My father owns an M3 but his daily driver is a Honda Civic so not every car guy follows your type of thinking.

The less people care, the more oil is consumed, the shorter amount of time petrol engines will last. That is exactly what's important.

335i are twin turbo. While that is still considered stock as it's factory turbos, but it's still performance oriented. Dinan also provides aftermarket parts for BMW that keeps your warranty.

While I personally haven't done it (I believe it has enough power for my daily commuting) people have used JB3 tunes on theirs to add more boost and get ~400+ HP to the wheels and get a small drop in MPGs.

I get 17 city and 26 highway on it (on average, spirited driving gets me to 13s).
