Dave was still peeing his pants when Hagar was singing with Montrose. The best thing that VH band did was get rid of Dave. Hagar not only sings better, but can hang with Eddie on guitar. I saw them live doing Rockn'Roll by Zep, it sounded just like the Zep. Even Page can't play 2 guitar parts at the same time. The only reason Dave was even in the band was..he had some equipment. I like the early stuff but the Hagar years had more developed songs w/keyboards, Eddie's first instrument.

I grew up on Van Halen. Their first four albums , especially VH1, were groundbreaking and changed music--they kicked off hard rock when there was only rock or heavy metal. Everybody followed their lead--even Randi Rhodes--unfortunately they "jumped the shark" with "Diver Down"--they lost me with their shit-ass cover of "Dancing in the Streets." Dave was still peeing his pants when Hagar was singing with Montrose. The best thing that VH band did was get rid of Dave. Hagar not only sings better, but can hang with Eddie on guitar. I saw them live doing Rockn'Roll by Zep, it sounded just like the Zep. Even Page can't play 2 guitar parts at the same time. The only reason Dave was even in the band was..he had some equipment. I like the early stuff but the Hagar years had more developed songs w/keyboards, Eddie's first instrument.

I grew up on Van Halen. Their first four albums , especially VH1, were groundbreaking and changed music--they kicked off hard rock when there was only rock or heavy metal. Everybody followed their lead--even Randi Rhodes--unfortunately they "jumped the shark" with "Diver Down"--they lost me with their shit-ass cover of "Dancing in the Streets." Then Dave did his crappy solo shit, Eddie got the idea he was a god and couldn't get along with anyone. Should regroup and start again.

If I go to a Van Halen concert,I want to see a rock concert,not a circus.Sammy Hagar is a much better singer than Dave,and he can actually play the guitar and remember the lyrics!Dave is all about a show and not the music.If you like watching a dude running around in spandex thats your choice,I prefer a singer and a rock show.Long live the RED ROCKER!!!!
