I think people from wholeover India should see this dance and they will really come to know how beautiful is Manipuri dance and how graceful they are.
does anyone know who is the girl in the video? . she is not a manipuri but still she has done it very beautifully....she movements are really graceful and that's very important for a manipuri dance...nice.
whao.....nice moves lady!!!!!...this is the best manipuri dance i've ever seen in my whole life!!!! i give u 11 out of 10 if ur my gf.....way to go !!!!!
Manipuri Dance may be relatively known within India, but for an international audience adding "Indian" before the terms may prove easier for identification. However, since names are important, I personally think adding "Indian" might distort the historical, and artistic distinction of Manipuri dance, which is very different from other classical dances of India.
Manipuri Dance like Bharatnatyam or Odissi is an Indian Classical Dance and if we start adding Indian like adding Indian Bharatnatyam, Indian Odissi, Indian Kuchipudi ...it does sounds really stupid ...
That is actually not true at all - it is perfectly correct to say Indian Classical Manipuri Dance as it does infact fall in the realm of Indian classical dance and if you study it is follows the same base of tals, mudras, etc
hy vidhi ki ladki. wat eng r u typin....... instead of teaching wat dis dance mins 2 oda's first learn how to type well in english..... i tink it shud nt b it is follows........ got me.. idiot........
they are different.. very different actually.. one basic one is that facial expression doesnt count in manipuri classical dance as it does in other forms of indian classical dances.. but of couse it is one of the many indian classical dances..
@sussyshg Other Classical dance were mostly performed by devdasis in the court of the king or temples to please the viewer while manipuri dance are truely devotional and spiritual...
Manipuri dance is based on vaishnavite philosophy of India, as many other dance forms of India (ex. odissi, mohiniatyam) base on. As manipur is part of India, manipuri is one of the eight classical dance form of India.
hy u cocksucker have'nt u stdied geography in yo life???? well may be? kz u biharis r so backward dt u dun evn knw wat english language is.... go lern some if yr s fkin stinky indian..... btw how many states r dre in india..... pliz use sm sense dis tym i xpk no answer kz ukn go thru google........

@sussyshg Sorry you feel the need to put others down, but Manipur is definitely within the boundaries of India on all current maps. It was not always so, but is now at least politically. I understand that Manipur culture is different to mainstream Indian culture.
it is because of ignorant people like u and the 2 likes on u that there are separatist tendencies in the so called "non-mainstream" areas.. wtf is mainstream.. no knowledge of history or geography or culture.. get educated!!
Her looks has a hint of Meitei. Just saying.

It will be wrong to call it Indian Manipuri dance. Manipuri dance is most appropriate term. The origin of the two arts are completely different.
