@TCGroudon An accent isn't always heard. Especially if it is of your own regional speech pattern. My girlfriend says I have no accent despite her being American and myself Canadian. Though to me she has an accent thick enough to need a knife to cut through and to her my mother has a thick accent that I cannot hear.

Sometimes I set my WASD to RDFG, to make room for sneaking, leaning, going prone, scope zooms, skills, spells, or whatever other special actions the game might allow. That leaves TAB, CAPS, SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Q, W, E, T, Y, U, A, S, H, J, Z, X, C, V, B, and N, all within reasonably close reach... that's 27 buttons for quick selects and whatnot... of course that's a little overkill, but is possible if one chose.

Not that I have any room to complain. I am a terrible mumbler. Point is... English accents rock and as a bonus, it's pretty difficult to get scared when I'm giggling from Kiko screaming his head off. Isn't there a quick weapon switch thing in Doom 3? Like hitting the 1 key for fists, 2 for pistol, 3 for shotgun, etc.?

there is, but it can sometime be unhandy, because if you are fighting something, you can't take your hand off the mouse, but you also can't take your hand off of the WASD keys (or whatever keys you use to move), so no matter what method you use, switching weps is unhandy, it's best to come prepared so you can just use the wep.

I know, I play a lot of games like that, and I've played a while through Doom 3 myself.

Never beat it though. legitimately, anyway :P

@Baelzaan I set crouch to CTRL, sprint to SHIFT, reload to my CENTER MOUSE button (when you press the wheel), weapon scroll to the wheel, and flashlight to the RIGHT MOUSE button, that my weapon control is entirely on the mouse, and all the keys to the right of WASD are empty, then set E to shotgun, R to Plasma gun, F to fists, G to grenades, and C to BFG-9000, so the weapons I use most are easy access, and the rest are only a mouse scroll notch or two away...

@213shadesofgrey 1, 2, 3, 4, T, Z, X and V are all close enough to set as quick selects too, if one wants to have every weapon easy-access. Anyway, some variant of that is my solution for pretty much all shooter games, and the like, with lots of weapons and items you might want easy access too... works great for Half-Life, and Fallout 3, etc. as well

Well in Doom, the "Zombies" are really just possessed humans. In the first few videos, you see the men get attacked by the glowing "ghosts". They retain all their action memory, such as firing their weapons, driving, riding a bike, etc. as opposed to animated dead, which are just instinct driven.
