This happened the day after my 7th birthday! I feel so bad for this dude. Once you're closed, and the lights are turned off he should've said no. He was stabbed so violently! Blindfolded and the slit his throat ear to ear........AND HE LIVED! GOD WAS WITH HIM THAT NIGHT!

It's amazing that Troy lived.

We took a call in which a guy suffered stab wounds to the abdominal area. They cut through his descending aorta; a major artery that leads from the heart, down through the abdomen and branches into the legs..

A person only has 2 to 5 minutes to live once a main part of the aorta is severed. They bleed out massively with every heartbeat.

Sadly, the guy died before we could get him to the hospital.

The stabbing was probably just so that he wasn't able to chase them. But if wanted for that other murder, he would have known who they were.

Bonus:

Allgood2000, several of the Rescue 911 episodes are featured in my own novel, which alters the plot of this one so that Royce is not stabbed and he files a report with the police. (not spam, but just what I've been doing personally in my personal novel to many Rescue 911 episodes).

Our ambulance unit took a call where a girl's throat had been slit from ear to ear.

She was able to talk because the blade hadn't penetrated all the way through the windpipe, which paramedics call the trachea.

You have to slice in pretty far to go all the way through; I'm not going to say how far, but I guarantee it's not in the least way easy to accomplish.

She was okay when we left her at the hospital.

Since we don't usually follow a patient's progress once we leave them at the Emergency Room, I don't know how she is now.

I'm guessing she's okay, b/c she was placed in the care of a good Emergency surgeon. Also, her windpipe and the two arteries that supply the brain w/ oxygen were intact.

He could talk b/c his trachea was intact. It's commonly called the windpipe, b/c air goes down the trachea to the bronchial tubes and into the lungs.

I think what happened after Troy was stabbed and robbed was, he lied down on the floor and played dead until the suspects left and then he called the police.
