Brilliant performance aciderZ! Jus tat im think the one min dance was not so good. But this dance was so unexpected and won the hearts of the judges. Great, as for the second place, balme urlselves fans, u all did not vote enough.Nus has fewer fans than u but they had more votes. However we can bear in mind tat acid would have won without votes right pple?
okie....acidhouz is the winner no matter wat! every movement in their dance is so good n well coordinated...all i can say its a great loss that they didnt win the finals in Dhool!!!

hypothetically shud the judges give the top 4 teams 9.95 9.90 9.85 9.80 a 3.2% voting advantage would bump NUS into 1st place. judge's comments does not reflect their scoring on paper.
my point exactly. so maybe the judges should also rethink the kind of comments they give because it incites the public and gives the wrong impression about the final outcome of the competition.

people..whatever had been done cannot be undone..so let's put the matter to rest.Acidhouz did a marvellous job.Hats off to them.I have been watching them from their very first dance at NUS Challenge in 2003..and they have improved tremendosly which is amazing.. from a consolation prize winner they went on to win many competitions in the past four years.. i think no other group has achieved that.

Just for your info, the sms results and the overalls results were vetted by external auditors from KMPG Int'l. Any form of biasness or politics would not have been possible.

it's not goin make any differences wat so ever.. it's not like the magastar production damm a small boy have found out the true ..we r dead no... nothing is goin to chance.. and next year NUS WILL be champions again until the public gets

Acidhouz put up a marvelous performance. Vidiyal put up a varied performance. And Anarchy and Diversity did great as well. Personally, if it were up to me, the results would have a different outcome as well, but it's over now. And all we can do is wait for the next round and this time, remember to voice your opinions and thoughts to the organisers. Alot of you here have valid views and thoughts, instead of discussing it on youtube where it isn't worth a nickel, take it up with the organisers.
Acidhouz are accomplished champions. They've won numerous competitions and their worth will not be diminished for coming in 2nd on dhool. If anything, this has opened up their talents to a wider audience. From what i've read, it seems everyone is blaming the brand name "NUS". Perhaps the next time they have a dhool competition, they should prohibit any group from representing a school. In that way it would be less biased.
Like i said, i find that Vidiyal & Acidhouz had sensational performances, along with all the other groups. In the eyes of many, the outcome was a shock. & in the eyes of others, the outcome was expected. The fact is that the competition is over. While there may be discontent, the best way to deal with this is by taking it up with the network. Write in for how you want the dhool competition carried out next time, if there is a next time. If you want votes included, or all-votes or just judging.
secondly the judges 2 of the 4, judge SD and judge lavanena CAME TO ACIDHOUZ AND TOLD THEM "BOYS U GUYS GOT 1st by our judging so boys don give up" so ppl y r ppl still talking talking abt the dance?? talking abt costumes and hw great NUS was ..making new steps and balbalbabl Y?? sayin acidhouz use the same dance again y?? r u ppl better judges than the real judges no rite ..give it a rest..
firstly ppl out thr .. i got nth against NUS so stop sending me msgs in friendster wat u got against NUS.. i find that NUS were great and deserved 2nd to me although the judges think otherwise they said NUS DID nOT deserved top 3 ...one of judges said that on monday news paper "THE STRAITS TIME" in one of forums...u ppl interested go and find out for yr self i i did ..
yeah, I noticed Acidhouz had danced for this in a local Community Show called dhool. So the reason for perfection? As for NUS, They put in loads of effort and etc.
guys..i don't believe i put down vidiyal any moment during any of my comments.. as an NUS student i feel happy that they won.. i just feel that smtg was not right.. esp since i have many friends from dance circles coming around to ask me what has happened, etc, etc.. guess what did happen will never be full transparent to the public.. in any case it was a great competition where the finals did show the best of the indian dance scene in singapore..
their win encourage those passionate abt dance to keep going for their dreams. you don't have to be in an established dance group to succeed. all you need is passion, dedication, versatility and determination. hats off to vidiyal for all their efforts. they manage to come up with something new and different at every stage of the competition without compromising on quality.
the public awarded first place to a novice dance group, recognising their efforts. comparatively, more effort was and had to be put into every dance because they did not have set pieces to follow. time was spent learning new styles, choreography, practice and sewing. they had nothing to fall back on.
i agree with provogue, the dance was a vast improvement from their first, and it was executed with intensity and energy.. the way all dances should. i'm just saying, don't discredit the winners. the public have their reasons for voting for them. instead of insulting the dancers and the dance, try to look at it through their eyes.
Provogue, hats off to you for the way you present your views. Truly a deviation as compared to most of everything else i've read thus far. You seem pretty neutral and unbiased in your opinions and that's the way to be. That's the way all opinions and thoughts shoould be put across and you bring up valid points.
And yet again, let me reiterate that yes Acidhouz is good, impressive and refreshing. The most improved as well from the previous rounds. They learnt in the quarters that they need to break out from their comfort zone n do other dance styles and they did it. Hats off to them for that.

Both Vidiyal & Acidhouz were sensational. Vidiyal in the variety and variation of their performances, and Acidhouz in the versatility and energy of their performances. Be happy for both groups and be thankful that the Indian dance scene in Singapore is going strong. It's ok to discuss it but outright insulting is simply uncalled for. With all that said,
Hey sirusej, if you read any of my comments, i have never put down Acidhouz at all. In fact, i think they did a wonderful dance and yes, something impressive that shows they are capable of quality dances. But what I'm trying to say is you don't have to bring up a group's name by attacking another group.
There is simply no point or reason in blaming the judges or the voting system. No1 is to be blamed. Undoubtly different people are gonna have different opinions but the important thing is to take it all in stride and roll with the punches.
2nd place is an honour, instead of congratulating the guys and feeling happy for them, you guys are carrying on as though they came in 8th. They came in 2nd, which is incredibly good. There are no assurances in competitions.. you do your best and hope for the best. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not. And sometimes the outcome may not be what you expect, but you just smile, keep your head up and wait for the next time.
I actually have to agree with chamomiletea on certain points. I'm not affiliated with any of the dance groups and I don't wanna express any judgment on the performances themselves, but the fact is that the judges had 60% of the outcome in their hands. And the voting system made up the remaining 40%. And on the judges half, acidhouz actually came in first.. so technically it was the votes themselves that got acidhouz the 2nd spot.
Provogue, u are nus tudent la k, so go support them i kno, and pple pls don compare like tat, cos nus got girls, so theri uniquness willl be differnet, anyway so wat if acidhouz repeat wat they did, it is good wat, wat for be so differnet, wat matters is quality. acidhoz no typical grp la k, and ppls in nus do aactoin, like aarthi.
Acid houz is brilliant la, u all proved u all not jus those void deck grps who alwsy don same steps, but also u all can come up with unique moves, and shown nus they not the onli one who think they have unique steps. So keep goign, n u all sure better than nus, right pple?
so in addition to not having an original piece, they have more time, and that's supposed to be fair?? in addition, nus vidiyal has tried their hand at pasa double, salsa, lindy, swing, bharatanatiyam, jazz, folk and contemp.. can the other groups say the same? they came up with brilliant concepts at every stage of the competition.. all their costumes were done by themselves, with no outside help.
isn't this dance almost the same dance that was performed on thrill night? ie, its not an original piece. now THAT is not fair. relearning a dance that you have performed before is alot easier than having to choreograph a whole new dance (two in two weeks no less). you have to give nus credit for that. better yet, those who qualified from the first semis had an extra week to perfect their pieces!
it wasnt exactly the same dance my fren.. that was the typical stage show dance.. so NUS using the same costume for the 2nd part of their show is alrite i suppose????
Dear shyam20. NUS Vidiyal did not in fact reuse the dance costumes for the second part of our show. i admit to similarities in the costumes for the second dance and the costumes for the quarter finals dance. but if you take a good look you will realise that there was no reuse of costumes.
in any case acidhouz (no offence to them im just giving examples) also reused their thrill night costumes for the second part of their dance. and diversity (no offence to them either) also reused their semi-finals dance costumes. so i do not see simliar costumes being a major issues when other groups have repreated costumes wholesale.
you guys are amazing.. if acidhouz really were the people's champions, please explain why kali dancers had 16.6% of the overall votes and acidhouz only had 13.5%? vidiyal only had 16.7% of the votes. everyone knew that sms votes counted for 40% of the results. just cos you as supporters did not vote enough for them to get into first place.. why take it out on the vidiyal dance and supporters?

And dance is never about winning, never about being better than others. It's about putting your emotions and your heart into movements on stage that make dance. As long as everyone still understand that, then don't worry, the future of Singapore's Indian dance scene will still be alive. It won't be affected just because Acidhouz lost 1st place.
nypremo, If you know about the passion for dance, you will also know that dance is open for interpretation. What is nice to you may not be nice to others and vice versa.

Acidhouz and Aanarchy 99 clearly deserve to be the top two at the finals. but sadly NUS and Diversity stole the spot from Aanarchy 99. Aanarchy 99 was simply fabulous. Diversity clearly did not perform up to mark. NUS....it's needless to say cos they were a mess. they actually won!!!! my goodness.... what were the judges ever thinking???? the only right judgement they made was Acidhouz.

Hey there. Judge SD did not help with the dance. Every dance u saw were the efforts of the 8 dancers. Choreographed by the dancers itself. No one else had a hand in it. No guru, no judge, no professional choreographers.

Some people know that & some people don`t provogue. Nomatter how many times you say it.. their not gonna rest. It`s pretty pointless.. each person has to individually open up their eyes and see for themselves how absurd all this really is. And until then, the insults & comments won`t stop.

Just for your info, the sms results and the overalls results were vetted by external auditors from KMPG Int'l. Any form of biasness or politics would not have been possible.

As for the voting the difference was 3.2% bwt NUS and ACIDHOUZ ..if u hear from point of the judges not the top 3..which is 4th hw can their leap forward to 1st ?ahh...it's all polities ...and i know i am wasting my time writing this nw...

Acidhouz put up a marvelous performance. Vidiyal put up a varied performance. And Anarchy and Diversity did great as well. Personally, if it were up to me, the results would have a different outcome as well, but it's over now. And all we can do is wait for the next round and this time, remember to voice your opinions and thoughts to the organisers. Alot of you here have valid views and thoughts, instead of discussing it on youtube where it isn't worth a nickel, take it up with the organisers.

Acidhouz are accomplished champions. They've won numerous competitions and their worth will not be diminished for coming in 2nd on dhool. If anything, this has opened up their talents to a wider audience. From what i've read, it seems everyone is blaming the brand name "NUS". Perhaps the next time they have a dhool competition, they should prohibit any group from representing a school. In that way it would be less biased.

Like i said, i find that Vidiyal & Acidhouz had sensational performances, along with all the other groups. In the eyes of many, the outcome was a shock. & in the eyes of others, the outcome was expected. The fact is that the competition is over. While there may be discontent, the best way to deal with this is by taking it up with the network. Write in for how you want the dhool competition carried out next time, if there is a next time. If you want votes included, or all-votes or just judging.

yeah, I noticed Acidhouz had danced for this in a local Community Show called dhool. So the reason for perfection? As for NUS, They put in loads of effort and etc.

guys..i don't believe i put down vidiyal any moment during any of my comments.. as an NUS student i feel happy that they won.. i just feel that smtg was not right.. esp since i have many friends from dance circles coming around to ask me what has happened, etc, etc.. guess what did happen will never be full transparent to the public.. in any case it was a great competition where the finals did show the best of the indian dance scene in singapore..

their win encourage those passionate abt dance to keep going for their dreams. you don't have to be in an established dance group to succeed. all you need is passion, dedication, versatility and determination. hats off to vidiyal for all their efforts. they manage to come up with something new and different at every stage of the competition without compromising on quality.

the public awarded first place to a novice dance group, recognising their efforts. comparatively, more effort was and had to be put into every dance because they did not have set pieces to follow. time was spent learning new styles, choreography, practice and sewing. they had nothing to fall back on.

i agree with provogue, the dance was a vast improvement from their first, and it was executed with intensity and energy.. the way all dances should. i'm just saying, don't discredit the winners. the public have their reasons for voting for them. instead of insulting the dancers and the dance, try to look at it through their eyes.

And yet again, let me reiterate that yes Acidhouz is good, impressive and refreshing. The most improved as well from the previous rounds. They learnt in the quarters that they need to break out from their comfort zone n do other dance styles and they did it. Hats off to them for that.

Both Vidiyal & Acidhouz were sensational. Vidiyal in the variety and variation of their performances, and Acidhouz in the versatility and energy of their performances. Be happy for both groups and be thankful that the Indian dance scene in Singapore is going strong. It's ok to discuss it but outright insulting is simply uncalled for. With all that said,

In fact, i think they did a wonderful dance and yes, something impressive that shows they are capable of quality dances. But what I'm trying to say is you don't have to bring up a group's name by attacking another group.

There is simply no point or reason in blaming the judges or the voting system. No1 is to be blamed. Undoubtly different people are gonna have different opinions but the important thing is to take it all in stride and roll with the punches.

2nd place is an honour, instead of congratulating the guys and feeling happy for them, you guys are carrying on as though they came in 8th. They came in 2nd, which is incredibly good. There are no assurances in competitions.. you do your best and hope for the best. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not. And sometimes the outcome may not be what you expect, but you just smile, keep your head up and wait for the next time.

I actually have to agree with chamomiletea on certain points. I'm not affiliated with any of the dance groups and I don't wanna express any judgment on the performances themselves, but the fact is that the judges had 60% of the outcome in their hands. And the voting system made up the remaining 40%. And on the judges half, acidhouz actually came in first.. so technically it was the votes themselves that got acidhouz the 2nd spot.

so in addition to not having an original piece, they have more time, and that's supposed to be fair?? in addition, nus vidiyal has tried their hand at pasa double, salsa, lindy, swing, bharatanatiyam, jazz, folk and contemp.. can the other groups say the same? they came up with brilliant concepts at every stage of the competition.. all their costumes were done by themselves, with no outside help.

isn't this dance almost the same dance that was performed on thrill night? ie, its not an original piece. now THAT is not fair. relearning a dance that you have performed before is alot easier than having to choreograph a whole new dance (two in two weeks no less). you have to give nus credit for that. better yet, those who qualified from the first semis had an extra week to perfect their pieces!

it wasnt exactly the same dance my fren.. that was the typical stage show dance.. so NUS using the same costume for the 2nd part of their show is alrite i suppose????

Dear shyam20. NUS Vidiyal did not in fact reuse the dance costumes for the second part of our show. i admit to similarities in the costumes for the second dance and the costumes for the quarter finals dance. but if you take a good look you will realise that there was no reuse of costumes.

in any case acidhouz (no offence to them im just giving examples) also reused their thrill night costumes for the second part of their dance. and diversity (no offence to them either) also reused their semi-finals dance costumes. so i do not see simliar costumes being a major issues when other groups have repreated costumes wholesale.

you guys are amazing.. if acidhouz really were the people's champions, please explain why kali dancers had 16.6% of the overall votes and acidhouz only had 13.5%? vidiyal only had 16.7% of the votes. everyone knew that sms votes counted for 40% of the results. just cos you as supporters did not vote enough for them to get into first place.. why take it out on the vidiyal dance and supporters?

And dance is never about winning, never about being better than others. It's about putting your emotions and your heart into movements on stage that make dance. As long as everyone still understand that, then don't worry, the future of Singapore's Indian dance scene will still be alive. It won't be affected just because Acidhouz lost 1st place.

Acidhouz and Aanarchy 99 clearly deserve to be the top two at the finals. but sadly NUS and Diversity stole the spot from Aanarchy 99. Aanarchy 99 was simply fabulous. Diversity clearly did not perform up to mark. NUS....it's needless to say cos they were a mess. they actually won!!!! my goodness.... what were the judges ever thinking???? the only right judgement they made was Acidhouz.

Hey there. Judge SD did not help with the dance. Every dance u saw were the efforts of the 8 dancers. Choreographed by the dancers itself. No one else had a hand in it. No guru, no judge, no professional choreographers.

good question.. i feel that they would not have won.. having the letters "NUS" in it seems to hav some sort of magic power.. granted the previous dhool NUS puyal won coz they were really good that time and it was a schools competition back then.. hence maybe the competition was less stiff.. this time.. wif seasoned dance teams they stil won? wouldn be makin noise if they were deserving.. but hmmmmm... well well....

Its not about the name here. Its from where they are. So even if they are known as Tekka420 for namesake but orginally from NUS, I have a gut feeling telling me that they will win for sure! They maybe good, but ACIDHOUZ rocked better than them and tbey came in 2nd. Funny isnt it?

PPL OUT thr...Do u PPl know that after the dhool final was over..3 judges ms lavaniya , ms sri devi ,mr vishnu came to acidhouz and told them that they got 1st.. but their votes made them 2nd... so sad rite.. but we all know who the true champions are..and i got more thing i was at backstage with acidhouz the host mr vishnu came and told screw the voting and shouted "ACIDHOUZ" he is cool man.. ...
