  • @thustm3h Might you be using windows 7?

  • @SleepingDragon1st I'm using Windows 7 aswell, but I can't find the config file in the directory.

    Please help, thanks in advance,

  • @thustm3h If you're using Windows 7, then you can find DOSBox is C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0.72 or 0.74.

  • I love you!! Wolfenstein 3D Fullscreen!!

  • while running C in dosbox...the mouse gets locked...n after two compilations its jus the keyboard tats operational...can u help me fix tat?? i badly need to get ova this hitch..cant code cuz of this..pls help

  • Thank a lot, again Thank thank thank

  • why would you do this when you can toggle between small and full screen modes of any Windows program by typing "ALT Enter" ?

  • @xanadar Because there's a bug some people get when pressing Alt+Enter, Alt+enter is the shortkey to put dosbox in fullscreen, and somepeoples dosbox bugs out when you do it, this fixes that problem.

Why are you looking up a problem you have no knowledge about?

  • the resolution also needs to be the same resolution as the resolution on your computer.

  • @mitchdvd123 Thanks for repeating what was i n the video, god forbid someone missed it.

  • thanks for the help! It worked, but you you made a minor mistake. It locks up when doing this unless fullscreen = false

  • Ty worked fine

  • Very helpfull vid, Thanks a lot!

  • DOXBOX 0.74 on my Windows 7 Laptop was having full-screen freezes still. Thanks a bunch, this fixed it right up.

  • @jvillinger I don't seem to have the dosbox.conf on my dosbox 0.74, any known reasons?

  • @legenda1989

Here is the path mine was located in:

    C:\Users\*your name here*\AppData\Local\DOSBox\dosbox-0.74.conf

  • Press alt-enter when dosbox is open to platy full screen!

  • @whitebread123654789 TY!!!!!

  • Lands of Lore now works fine on Vista 32. Thank you!

  • Thank you dude, you help a LOT !!! Now I can play Need for Speed 1 under Windows 7 :))

  • much easier way alt+enter thumbs up if it works for you

  • @Dragonagemast alt+enter work for me under XP, but does'nt under 7 (I got some glitches when I do), but this way fix the problems

  • @laceks hmmm well i use vista (but i hate it lol) so i dont know about windows 7

  • @Dragonagemast That's because your advice was bullshit, Alt+Enter is just the hotkey to fullscreen dosbox, this is video is for a problem people have when putting there dosbox in full screen, if you had read the description you'd know this.

Also to be honest this problem shouldn't even happen anymore, this fix was made in 2009, it should be patched by now.

  • @SleepingDragon1st well damn dude you aint gotta get pissed i was just trying to help people it works for me so i figured it would work for others i dont read the description first so calm your little ass down

  • @Dragonagemast Wasn't my intention but am glad it bothered you.

  • thenxxxx a lot :)))))))

  • For those of you having problems, the key is to be sure the resolution values for "fullresolution" and "windowsresolution" are the same as your desktop. I couldn't set my desktop to 1280x1040 so I used 1280x720, then set fullresolution and windowsresolution to the same values. Worked fine. Also worked fine when I used my lowest desktop setting of 800x600. Different games my like different settings so experiment. Just be sure the dosbox config file and your desktop resolutions are the same.

  • Worked. Thanks!

  • hey, you're the best, now it's great :-) thanks a lot

  • men i did it but still two black parts in the left and right side that are noting strentch please help me

  • worked like a charm on my linux version thank you _!!!!!

  • Thanks for this.

    Dune 1 on Win7 - Hooray!

  • It worked Thanks! :D Now i can play The Elder Scrolls 1 Arena!!

  • Comment removed

  • hmm didn't work for me either ... :(

  • @dreamcultdream oh hm nvm ... i'm using D-Fend Reloaded. editing the conf file manually turned out not be the real conf file. then when i edited it from w/in d-fend (it has a menu shortcut to edit the dosbox conf file) it also didn't work. i ended up having to right click the game inside of d-fend and then adjusting its settings by clicking "edit." then i set them to the settings i saw in this video. thanks!

  • i cant save the file, after i changed it

  • @ostefimseren Did you run as administrator?

  • @ostefimseren Save it to desktop> Drag it to where the origanal file is> Say yes to replace.

  • thanks a lot

  • Works!!!

    Thanks!!!!!

  • didn't work :-/

  • @shrint Elaborate?

  • @SleepingDragon1st when i start up dosbox, i just get a little black, frameless dosbox window the size of the non-fullscreen window - and i hear the sounds of whatever games i'm starting, but i don't see anything else onscreen - the window doesn't show the graphics of the game starting up or anything, it's just frozen showing the startup text for dosbox. the only way i can get it to work is by turning fullscreen to "false" and playing in windowed mode.

  • does this solve the problem with fullscreen when i put fullscreen on world of warcraft i get a small little square in the middle and two black bars on the sides then when i try putting a different resolution everything gets all extra fucking small and its pissing me off HELP!!!

  • @0997m991 No, this is for DOSBOX, goto control panel, then goto programs & features, search for wow and up at the top it should say uninstall click that.

    That should solve your problem.

Seriously though, how about goto to the WoW help support section on there site? or the forums.

  • @SleepingDragon1st well thanks anyway no need to be all rude about it >.>

  • @0997m991 It was merely a sarcastic reply to stupidity. My comment was rude to you but your first comment was rude to me.

  • @SleepingDragon1st how was i rude? it was simply a pleade for help.

  • @0997m991 You wrote without thinking, something that is annoying and rude.

  • @0997m991 Press Alt-Enter

  • Thanks so much! This fixes the sound problem i had :)

  • @LastStandVeteran You're not very smart are you?

This is a fix for a problem with Dosbox going into fullscreen, some people get blurely graphics and what not when going into fullscreen. What you're suggesting isn't the same.

  • Strg + Enter ;)

  • @Wedlock66 Oh, it's a gift from above, here to solve all problems.

  • thnks mAn

  • Thanks!

This worked perfect! Thumbs UP! ;)

  • its works and then it don't, here is the issue, it works when it comes to dos command but when it comes to games that uses resolution 320x240 or something like that it does not, instead it shows the game in small box so as i see it that resolution is best not having anything on it for setting, it is a good idea but looks like linux wins when it comes to full screen lol

As for windows, i wonder if there's something in windows settings for making low res to full screen :(

  • @DragonAge2k No infact, i see what you mean't heres the result, "block user" there we go

  • @DragonAge2k What?

  • @SleepingDragon1st when i try to turn on fullscreen in duke nukem 3d my screen starts lagging and flickering, kinda like an old broken tv, what do i do?

  • @grekor84 Sorry can't help you, again i don't use Dosbox anymore, so i can't really find a solution, best solution i can give you is try and find a way to increase the amount of RAM the game uses or google :p

  • I'm having a strange fullscreen problem with DosBox. I'm running Paradox for DOS (which I can't live without!!) and it started out fine. But now, for some reason, I am losing the leftmost character - column 1 on the screen. Any ideas?

  • @melhbern Nope, none, if i still used Dosbox i could look into it, but i uinstalled the program after completing most of my favourite games.

  • Thanks a Whole Bunch for this. Solved Exactly my problem with latest v 0.74 as well!

Very nice being able to chanche the resolution (even thou the games pixels itself stays de same amount offcourse;) since todays 24 inch monitors aint exactly designed to be run in 320*240 or 640*480.. like these games lols... ;)

  • Thank you so much. Worked great.

  • just press alt+F10 and it will work

  • Thank you so much this really helped. A dummy like me has trouble understanding what the %$&@ people are talking about half the time when I read forums on how to do shit like this.

This video was very helpful and to the point, and I didn't have to wait forever for you to get to the actual purpose of the video, unlike a lot of youtube computer help videos that have about a 5 minute intro.

    And it worked perfectly.

  • @Manx17 Glad it helped. I would have made it easier and put all the crap needed in the Description, but i haven't used DOSbox since i made the video, so never really bothered with it. Thanks for the comment.

  • I just need to change the resolution. When I go to fullscreen this damn thing pops up every half a minute saying that it will run best on this resolution and it is annoying!

  • @SleepingDragon1st Thank u soooooo much :-)

  • for me dosbox runs in full screen but the games still have the size it would if i hadn't changed anything in the config file XD

  • @Loonykillaz Some games just play like that i think.

  • it's works for me. I have DosBox 0.73 and i running it on a Win7. Thank you very much.

  • Wait,I changed the output to Opengl and ran it like dos (instead of dragging the game into it)thanks for the tutorial man.

  • It dosen't work for me : (

  • thank you <6969696

  • I made the changes but I can't save the file? it says "Make sure that the path and the file name are correct" !!! I don't see anything wrong !!whats the problem?

  • @SaeedSadeghi Save the new file to your desktop, then delete the old one and move the new one in its place.

  • @SleepingDragon1st thanx for the help :)

  • It still gives me the problem- the colors in fullscreen are inverted.

  • @super58173 I wouldn't really know, i haven't touched Dos Box since making this video.

It's also a problem that only occurs on Vista aswell, if you don't have Vista then it maybe a different problem completely.

Try messing around with the settings i've pointed out, like changing the resolution, also try changing your desktop resolution.

  • @super58173 Actually, where it says Output=overlay in the config, replace that with output=ddraw

  • @SleepingDragon1st- Ok. Thanks anyway. I face that problem when I turn on the program with the "noconsole" option. (And I have a Windows 7.)

  • One problem I've had is that anything far away gets pixelated. Is there a fix for that?

  • @Marco007Marco007 I don't get what you mean? could you explain abit more, i haven't used Dos box in centurys but i maybe able to help.

  • @SleepingDragon Anything within a certain radius seems to have the same amount of pixels, but anything farther away seems more pixelated. It's like depth of field except the focus is anything close to you. It's ok if you can't fix it, I just bought the game on PS3 :P

  • @Marco007Marco007 It's probably because the games back then were only made for a certain resolution so anything in the 0000x0000 will probably just distort the games image anyway. Am assuming that's what you're talking about xD

  • thanks, works perfectly for me.

fixes the corrupted colours i get for alt+enter-ing from windowed mode, running on win7.

  • you could add these lines to your description for this vid.

  • Thanks, man! 'Till now, no one helped with me with this issue. Again, thanks!

  • You're genious! Thanks a lot :)

  • thanks man, just what i needed. although i left windowsresolution=original so it wouldn't take up the whole screen unless i hit alt-enter.

  • Thanks, that did it for me too. By the way, what is this music from? I swear I've heard it before.

  • That would be Pendulum - Slam, glad it helped.
