@madmick17 I'm American and I even find that comment toothless and ass-backward. Lack of an "ear" for accents is simply a fact. I moved to the midwest from the east coast in the late 90's, and had grown up on the west coast prior to moving out east....there are a number of people here in the midwest that completely shut down if you don't sound like them. I've also overheard people in video stores out here complaining about having trouble understanding people's accents in "Shaun Of The Dead".
