  • This song always makes me think of Dylan Klebold.

  • Too bad after all that work, you guys had two serious typo's in the credits...Love Harold, Don, Phil and Jimmy.... they were at it 40 years....

  • I'm old enough to remember when this was on the radio (loved yr remake by the way)... anyway, it's just a Love Breakup Song. Duh.

  • I don't know why are people debating meaning of this song when it's so clear what's it about from lyrics.

  • the reason this song is a hit is cause of the the bass "kaaaang" from kangaroo.

  • No, This song is about being in a Mental Hospital. It was taken off Radio Station across the country for quite awhile.

  • i really need a smoke after listening to this

  • The people who disliked this were ran over by Butch Coolidge.

  • PULP FICTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @VMKCheat : MOTHA FUCKER!!

  • so spelling wasn't graded?

  • This song is so much about weed.

  • @Tonian205X no, your just high.

  • @Tonian205X: No, it's about the uneventfullness and nothingness of existence.

  • or it could just be about him saying hes ok when really hes not

  • @bryan8675: That's true too. It's really about this agoraphobic hermit who sits around his house doing nothing all day. And, he says he's having a blast, but that'of course intentionally ironic because he really is sitting around doing absolutely nothing.

  • This is very good. I like the presentation and the audio is excellent! Thank you! I remember Mr. Green Jeans in particular. So laid back. Much better than Fred Rogers, maybe even Ginger Rogers! lol.

  • PULP FICTION :D

  • lol wow i cant believe i started singing this song and school lol havent heard this song in years

  • i loooooooooooove it so much

  • "Motherfucka.."

  • Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' Captain...... Kangaroo. Now don't tell me, I've nothin' to dooo

  • I'm not a big country fan, but this song is really damn catchy.

  • @COLovesYou1 it doesnt feel like a country song

  • That's how you beat 'em, butch. They keep underestimating you.

  • THIS SONG IS ABOUT SMOKING WEED AND LOOKING AT THE FLOWERS CUZ THEY LOOK SO WEIRD AND AWESOME WHEN UR HIGH

  • @MrThuglifegangsta69 You're a fucking idiot.

  • @kraastopher YO TRY SOME WEED AND LOOK AT SOME FLOWER WALLPAPER AND ULL SEE WHAT I MEAN AND PLUS THEY EVEN ADMIT THEY SMOKING CIGARETTES

  • Kinda like Heatherly's version more. Its more smooth. This one is more catchy I admit, its more likely to be looped in your head. but I prefer the cover. Its "cool"

  • POUNDIN OUT

  • Dylan kleboid video brought me here.

  • @rockking05 THAR SHE BLOWS MR.. uh.. rockking05?

  • @fizzypopism

    Mr...uh....Nate

  • this is a B and not much more.

  • @Metallica3636 Really, you can judge that without even knowing what grade the kid is in? Or do you just like being that way?

  • Uncle Quentin has gon an incredibly good music taste.

  • 12th03/38 15th08/90 Le DeWitt (The writer of this song)

  • mutha fucka

  • HA , my life is solitaire with only the two jokers and twice the captain kangaroo

  • An ominous quality here, what with this flowered wallpaper that apparently has the power to captivate these guys the way that crusty old yellow wallpaper did with the poor woman from The Yellow Wallpaper. Beware guys, there's insanity in the staring, and sometimes if you look long enough, creatures appear in the pattern.

That said, I still dig this song.

  • butch in a car :)

  • I like listening to this song when I am feeling depressed and think I have nothing to do. and then I look around my house and I see I have plenty to do. Besides playing solitaire or computer games, well even when I walk away from the computer there is always something to do to keep busy and pass the time away.

  • This song was featured in Pulp Fiction,I can remember when this song came out,I do like Ole C/W because Sat. night the only thing on the telly was Hee Haw!!

  • The album version sounds very similar to this one. But just a bit different. Anyone who knows what this is from ?

  • Statler Borthers? Alrighty then.

  • The four people who hated this video hate Captain Kangaroo!

  • FOR MY UNCLE ANDY AND THE ROAD TRIP TO OMAHA IN THE OLDSMOBILE STATION WAGON WITH WOOD TRIM

  • LOVE THE BANJO IN THIS ONE. IT FITS IN PERFECT

  • thumbs up if Klebold's nose brought u here

  • @SandersonCallum you know whats weird? that did bring me here...and this was uploaded 3 days before the ten year anniversary of columbine... o.O

  • @xoalyssa311

ah yeah I thought there were gonna be some columbine researchers here.

  • @SandersonCallum apparently not many lol

  • @SandersonCallum

I found this song through that video, with Klebold in the car, actually lol At that point, I was really into researching Columbine... I don't know why though :/

  • Butch: And watching captain kangaroo.

    Wallace: MOTHER FUCKER!

  • I remember hearing this song many times back in late 1965-early 1966, when I was a little kid. It was a top 5 record back then.

  • 100% a stubban cunt!!! a lv it!!

  • thow you're gonna beat em Butch, they keep underestimatin ya

  • @morgantown1 my name is BUTCH...lol

  • Ordinarily I don't listen to country and western music, but I stumbled upon this while I was mindlessly searching on YouTube. This one's quite a hoot. I laffed my a** off.

  • The last of the great country songs, early 60's.

  • You people do know this song is supposed to be a guy who's having a nervous breakdown? And the person who's concerned about him is the women who dumped him.

  • @carn333 gee, no kidding? we would never have figured that one out.

  • I love me some Pulp Fiction

  • lol as far i get this songs lyrics that guy is the perfect example of what a nerd would do if video games werent invented yet...

  • "Anyways, my eyes are not accustomed to this light... and my shoes are not accustomed to this hard concrete..." My thoughts on many a days of stepping outside... lol

  • Thats who ya gonna beat em butch! They keep underestimating you!

  • statler brothers are amazing....

  • I'm only 18, but this song brings back childhood memories of driving for Salem, VA to Staunton,VA with my family just to see them perform.

  • Love this song, heared it for the first time in pulp fiction on bruce willis' car radio, took me ages to find out who made it. Beautiful song!!! Thankxxx

  • One of the finest country songs of all time.

  • This song is oddly addicting.

  • @Konata101 You can't be more true. I just can't stop listening to it

  • @Konata101 Brilliantly used in Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece "Pulp Fiction" :-D

  • Awesome song!

  • Love this tune! Thank You!

  • same never enjoyed! now i lust for its sweet melody! :)

  • ... I always used to fast>>forward this track on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack - until one day I couldn't be bothered :-)

When I heard the lyrics, I split my sides laughing - I love this tune now, and it still makes me smile.

  • nice job, big bro!

  • i always associate this song with "one flew over the cuckoos nest"

  • whys that? just cos its on of those songs?

  • Having nothing to do is a problem if you have nothing to do. When you have work to do, then having nothing to do is wonderful. I've got books and articles to read, papers to write, exams to study for. I've got plenty to do, but it's so tempting to watch hours of TV, play solitaire, or maybe comment on YouTube music videos until dawn.

This song is fun to sing along with. Slow and simple enough to relax, not demanding. Little effort to memorize.

  • @kolpinj except all those things they fill their time with are simple heart breaking distractions

that mask the pain while the girl he loves is out on the town, with her friends, or giving small

thoughts of consolation through a pained conscience "I guess" ....so that's okay, don't worry about me

  • @kolpinj Cool story, bro!
