@jassoe Boomerangs and Kylies where confused as being the same thing (both called boomerangs 17th -19th century ) for over 2 centuries. Kylies are like heavy flying weapons that DONT circle / return .

@jassoe There are some cool videos of big fruit bats being hunted by boomerangs .Look up bat boomerangs and look for the hunter icons . There are also cool ninja stars that can go aroung corners and kill .They are metal though with no air foil .

@MrNoNaMe1107 Kilamanjaro is a cool boomeramg, but its not my design . It would be seen as inapropriate for me to make a video of that (that maker might think I'm trying to sell his design ). It is also hard to film because it goes so far .

@MrNoNaMe1107 Boomerangs that go far need to use a zoom lens to see it , my son doesnt hare the skill to film that yet .Its hard to keep the boomerang in frame at zoom magnification while it moves quickly . I could do it If there was another boomerang thrower with me but I'm the only one in my city .

@TyroToxism09 There are a few exceptions some boomerangs can be used for killing a birds/bats even fish near the surface .Normaly kylies are prefered because they are much heavier .

1 @TyroToxism09 If you look at the United States Boomerang Association FAQ it disscuses that boomerangs are not weapons .Kylies /hunting sticks are lethal but dont return and look similiar but wider than boomerangs .

@Matanui97 Weights are optional .Add weights near the tipsto increase distance .Tape with duct tape ,press smooth , dimes , penny , nickle , work your way up .Weights help on windier days also .

@Matanui97 weights can be drilled and counter sunk and glued in . Holes for coins are drilled partialy and then glued in .Advance methods deal with brass or lead put in drilled holes .Not needed for beginners .Google images of weighted boomerangs .

@Matanui97 There is a lead tape (sticky on one side ) that is used in golf but put on boomerangs .Watch out for lead posioning by licking fingers at lunch after throwing.

Coins are the easiest .I use small washers on kids balsa rangs instead of coins.

I think your referring to the flat headed nulla nulla. This was a boomerang type object that was thrown and would cause blunt trauma to what ever was being hunted. It never came back nor was it designed too.

Boomerang makers measure or estimate the flight of each boomerang.You then MUST have a field larger than that size to throw in.

The distance of the flight is the width of the entire circle .You can increase distance by adding more weight ,tape more coins to tips.

You can decrease the flight by adding a warp of 1/8th an inch, can decrease the radius by 15-20 feet .Warping tips is not for the novice usually.

Simply visit the United States Boomerang association web site and read the FAQ's. Kylies kill but are not boomerangs they cant circle back.

Cardboard boomerangs can be cut from cereal boxes in V,X,Y shapes .They are launched flat and struck by finger or pencil very hard resting on palm or a book.3-6inches will work fine flat .

Great question- wide angles spin slow , skinny angles spin fast .Adjustable rangs arent very practical because they are weak at the elbow, they have been made though.
