Wouldn't that also mean that a government that is run by people might, you know, be greedy or corrupt? Also, unlike corporations, governments not only use force to make people do their bidding, but they claim that it is somehow their right to do so. Ron Paul wants to restrain government and end the corporate/government alliance (aka Fascism).

I am not on the board of any corporations, but I do exersize my right to vote every time I can. @sotthapana I do believe Ron Paul would make a far better president than the other candidates, but a monetary system will always bring global problems (scarcity, war, poverty, famine, crime, etc.). Until everybody realizes this we won't achieve the "best" change possible. I would lean towards a Resource Based Economy and Venus Project because without this we will run into a point of no return. Plus, it would create a higher standard of living for all.
@gawdiam I have also looked into TZM and TVP extensively and spent time in their teamspeak, and I agree that a resource-based economy is the best idea, but I've come to believe that if we have a constitutional understanding of the free market and real capitalism, we wouldn't be in the problems we're facing now and it will make life in America so much better than it is now.

Over optimistic in other words. the constitution is less than 1500 words, you can’t just say look at the constitution too solve every problem we have in our modern time. people expect more from the government. Ron Paul...idealistic, moral, and not the brightest bulb on the tree. He is just naive and he actually believes that people, and therefore businesses, are good and will look out for people. Obviously this is not the case. I would ask if he was born and raised here in the United States, because anyone who has been knows that corporate greed trumps the power of the people. Sure. @DrPib81 OK, so, let's say you're right and people in general are are greedy and corrupt, meaning that corporations run by people have the same attributes. Wouldn't that also mean that a government that is run by people might, you know, be greedy or corrupt? Also, unlike corporations, governments not only use force to make people do their bidding, but they claim that it is somehow their right to do so. Ron Paul wants to restrain government and end the corporate/government alliance (aka Fascism).

@grogforsale Most people, given normal circumstances, are good. People who get power and don't want to lose it can (and do) abuse that power. I am not on the board of any corporations, but I do exersize my right to vote every time I can. We CAN hold politicians (but don't) accountable, but it's hard to stop Bernie Maddoff and the corporate elite.

@DrPib81 Corporate greed can only trump the power of the people when it is that the power of the people is turned over to someone who will sell that power to the corporations. Goldman Sach is again the highest contributor to both Obama and Romney. This is how they escape prosecution. Harvard and University of California give big time so as to have the student loans of their customer/students are pushed onto the taxpayer which allows the universities to raise tuition even more. @sotthapana I do believe Ron Paul would make a far better president than the other candidates, but a monetary system will always bring global problems (scarcity, war, poverty, famine, crime, etc.). Until everybody realizes this we won't achieve the "best" change possible. I would lean towards a Resource Based Economy and Venus Project because without this we will run into a point of no return. Plus, it would create a higher standard of living for all.

@gawdiam I have also looked into TZM and TVP extensively and spent time in their teamspeak, and I agree that a resource-based economy is the best idea, but I've come to believe that if we have a constitutional understanding of the free market and real capitalism, we wouldn't be in the problems we're facing now and it will make life in America so much better than it is now.
Somebody will win in 2012, and Ron Paul is the only honest guy running. Peter Joseph isn't running.

ron paul has too many problems to become president. you cant just throw out the IRS, it would stun grouth and social programs. also he would undo 100 years of progress in international relations by stopping add too our friends and allies. hes a smart man, but a man too outside his time. maybe he would have been a good president in the late 1800s during the guilded age when corperations had no regulation, made billions, while the average American suffered.

@MegaLink117 IRS has little to do with taxes other than collection and LE. ron paul wants our foreign relations to be centered around trade and the free market with less taxes by cutting our deficit. that would be a lot better than having our foreign relations centered around intel gathering/military action. that's why we support ron paul, we don't just look at how a candidate handles PR. the way it seems, i don't think any other candidate will push to audit the fed or end the conflicts overseas

@unsheepled well that’s the thing. i did think, and my conclusion is, he’s a good man a smart man, but outside political reality. Over optimistic in other words. the constitution is less than 1500 words, you can’t just say look at the constitution too solve every problem we have in our modern time. people expect more from the government. And maybe that’s the root of the problem, but simply going back in time to some nonexistent utopian era in American history is not the answer.
