  • Pure unadulterated genius!

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn his fingers must be bleeding ! that was ridiculous

  • The birds are a beautiful addition to the song

  • @FriggnDiggn

yesser !great vid great version, and the birds can sing

  • oh man, I just got to "if I only had a brain", what a great switch!!

thank you for this great video, looks like a great time. the birds are digging it!

  • This is just I cant explain it...wow

  • How beautiful was that?!?!?! Man, that is good stuff right there.

  • J'y étais!! C'est le Paris Jazz Festival au parc floral, il y a 3 ou 4 ans. C'était un joli concert, si mes souvenirs sont bons.

  • those sliding thirds (i think) around 1:46 gave me a semi. Reckless precision is my "going to sleep" album.

  • Woww...this sends me chills down me...its sooo good. It makes me think about my life :P. Its very powerful and affects peoples emotions.

  • there is no comapison between tommy emmanuel and tuck, they have there own styles and they are both exellent on it.

  • AGREE 100 PERCENT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • che capisci tu di musica, stili e quant'altro vai a lavorare nelle stalle.

  • tuck andress is the best playing today. i really really think so

  • Great Andress' rendition.

And the birds' twitterings, well fit in this piece...

    :-)

  • When I listen Tuck i feel listening all the sound of the life. He's able to connect the heart with his brain. He is incredible as he can transmitt everything with that sound like a poet does with the words.

Tuck is not just a great musician. He is an illuminated genius.

  • Yeah he really is inspiring!!!

When he played this in Bremen, Germany in 2003, he told

the audience NOT to sing along, hehe!

    He´s great!

  • Glad to see Tuck do this tune again. He is both an excellent player and a gentleman as well. Also an inspiration to many guitarists.

  • outstanding, and believe it or not, Tuck plays funk!

  • eh..sticaxxi

  • Check out Tommy..... TOMMY EMMANUEL that is

  • Thanks for sharing this with us. Fandamtastic!

  • a good guitarist should be able to stand up in front of an audience and play completely unaccompanied and sound great. this is a masterful performance and beautiful arrangement of one of the most beloved songs in the american song book. his use of the harp harmonics is just awesome.

  • Outstanding! One of the nicest tunes ever, and played masterfully. Thank you for sharing this! Wow!

  • AMAZING! Love this one!

  • looks like probly a volume pedal

  • is he using the volume knob?

  • Well ... you still seen anyone do an entire song in only harmonics. This isn't. But yes, Tuck is awesome. Carrying the 'Joe Pass' torch just a tad, but still different, and amazingly awesome.

  • how many guitarists does it take to change a lightglobe? ten. one to do it and nine to say "I coulda done it better" I bet Tuck has heaps of your records NOT!!!!

  • holy crap i have never seen anyone do an entire song in only harmonics as good as this guy!

PLUS i know one of his really good friends!!!

  • it is those who wish they could do....criticize most...as jeff beck said...shut up and play yer guitar...quit hating

  • Everyone needs to learn this song, straight or jazzed up it will impress your friends and family. Tuck does a better-than-most interpretation.

  • This is a song that everyone holds deep deep in their heart.... You are hearing tuck's heart.

  • Tuck is wonderful....I am weary of all the haters on this site, though...

  • Everybody is copying everybody. Get over it. Andress is still one of the greatest out there!

  • Ammmmmmmazing! lol Tuck aughta play rhythm for Yngwie

  • u mean yngwie should play rhythm for tuck, maybe yngwie will learn something from tuck

  • either way id be amazed. I dont really listen to this soft, passive, elevator music~ Just respect the musicians that deserve it. I hope youre not insinuating Tuck pwns Yngwie. Theyre too different. You cant compare.

  • You started it. Saying that one guy should play rhythm for another isn't a neutral statement, it's a ranking. Should Andress drop his solo stuff to speed-strum boleros behind Malmsteens Paganini? Both players are the premier exponents of their respective styles, but Yngwie hasn't grown.

  • Lazur1

Um.. Rhythm guitar isnt a ranking.

Maybe... jsut maybe, some people just wanna make music.

Im sure either of them would be glad to do it. (not that id give a rat's ass)

Fact: Tuck fingerpicks/ plucks primarily, no pick, accoustic/ elec accoustic.

Fact: Yngwie plays loud, distorted electric guitar, primarily runing up and down scales.

    hmmmm.

  • Ok, I'll believe you, but try to see other's points of view: When you say a great guitarist should play -rhythm- for another guitarist, it sounds a lot like a put-down. Fine, you didn't mean it that way. Choose your words more carefully, that's all. No big deal.

  • Tuck is a god. The sound is not so god on this video, and I've heard him do the tune better. He's still a god.

  • i love tuck!

  • Yes, maybe someday I can grow up, and my appreciation of music will mature enough so I can appreciate 'The most dangerous man on the planet'.

  • let's all hope

  • Lol you're a moron.

Lenny Breau, he's good. I don't care if this is 'hard shit', he fucking ruined one of the most beautiful pieces ever.

Here is some more 'good' guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZNJf-h7F8s

  • Gus Mactavish? Who the hell are you? Grow up if you can; or maybe you cannot. At any rate I hope you do because there is a ton of great music out there and I hope for your sake you mature to the point of being able to appreciate just some of it. All the best.

  • Lol youre a moron too! have you ever heard of chord soloing? because tuck and tommy are going for a totally different things here, you cant ever compare the too. secondly why would you want to compare them? theyre both great players with different aspects to their playing..

  • aye he fucking killed this song

  • .....................................................................huh? wow.

  • The fact that people actually like this guy still blows me away.

  • its a matter of opinion. there is no 'good' guitarist persay. what blows me away is that this guy is doing some hard shit, and you cant acknowledge it. but, i guess you would know that, because you are 'mister guitar'! oooooo!

  • W O W

  • cause it's a whole other arranging/playing conception.

My overall alltime favourite and a real innovator

  • tuck blew me away. when I heard him play Man in the Mirror, I thought there were several people playing it. I was wrong! And Patti is a great partner. I wish to see more videos of this dynamic duo.

  • He crushes! Why can't you compare hime to Joe Pass?

  • I hear Pass's solo style as tight and limited, and much prefer him cranked a little more with a rhythm section. Tal Farlow,George Van Eps, even Barney Kessel surpassed his solo stuff years before he went solo. Andress's approach is so different, more like a Lenny Breau; full of chiming harmonics and snakey string-bending. More open and airy than Pass could ever be, leaning to funk where Breau would go country.

  • Good analysis, intelligent and respectfully accurate. Thank you.

  • Here here!

  • Tuck is a machine... no mistake for Mr Tuck! And so does his wife Patty.. great..

  • Thnaks :)

  • THANK YOU FOR PUTTING UP THIS VIDEO!

i love tuck andress, i hope to see him one day before i die.
