@arnostblazej Yes, there was a wooden fortress before the Hungarians built the existing castle where also the Hungarian royal crown has been in custody. Anyway, to that time when the Slavic wooden fortress was built there were no Slovak people yet. It's a much later development that happened within the borders of the Hungarian Kingdom. Bratislava was also the seat of the Hungarian aristocratic parliament for 300 years. For some nationalistic Slovaks this is an unacceptable fact, of course.
