I take objection to the statement made that wolves hate humans. Wolves like any wild animal have certain traditions - ways that they follow & as long as man respects these they will respect man as proven by a number of people who have been able to cross the gap between wolf & man. To continue to think of wolves as only an enemy is ignorant in the light of new data which shows this is not true. However interaction must be on their rules, not ours if we hope to have any type of relationship. MGM.
... wow dnt ppl ever think were doing the same to them as they were to us? they take our chickens and cows we take there deer and bison woopdee do its life but dont kill a wolf for a show to see who gets the biggest if ppl r to stupid to see tht they have problems! thr is more of us then them taking thr things they need elk and animals to survive and they eat it all unlike us who sometimes dont eat the deer and leave it or eat junk food and get fat! they dont waste or do it for fun.
It pisses me off to see a good creature like this in a wrong situation.we r on this, planet to protect it not to harm the plants or the animals I just honestly
when people came to the west who and what did they kill because the people wanted the land hmmm, they killed the Native Americans also they were afraid of them. We need to Educate people
If you're only here to piss off the wolfaboos, save us all some trouble and gtfo. I've had enough "KILL THOS MEENEES WUT DID TH WULFS EVR DO 2U" for the day. (No, I'm not a wolf hater, but I hate ignorant people who think wolves are cute and cuddly.)
@tibbimuffins Well, that is true. But, wolves, (and other animals) are being killed for no reason at all. People, even women are having lots and lots of children, so, that causes more houses, buildings, and roads. That goes on animals territory and home. Killing them. They have a right to live also. Just like we do. We need food source and water, they need food source and water. So people really need to start showing nature some respect. Like many people say, "God created this planet"
And they are doing no help whats so ever to mother earth. Life gives us oxygen. And everything we need to live. Like plants for instance, they give out air that we breathe, but people are cutting them down. We get water from lakes that we drink. People pollute in them. So, yeah, we are drinking other peoples left overs, even their... sewege. So, you might wanna do some thinking about the insanity that people are causing. But really, if you believe in god, do you think for one minute he will be
@bm4nu Fuck you, you lousy fool! wolves are a beautiful species. You see, the only thing thats really causing this planet to mess up, is humans. We are causing 2012. Mother earth is going to get her revenge, and when she does, she will start out with people just like you, I would love to see that. Hmm, maybe I should track where you live so I can shoot you in the head, gut you open... and use you as a leather coat.... what ya think NaturalGrace? :D
@00KateyWolf00 oh now I understand your one of those wack jobs that think the world will end in 2012. How did Y2K work for you? I think your very disturbed and I pray for you.
@bm4nu Yep, I am disturbed, from people who are like you. x) people like you make me pissed off and feel like gutting people open, and throwing them in the water so bears can eat them.
@headband345 Wolves aren't harm to people unless they are hungry. Infact, wolves are quite shy around humans and animals. You might hear people say "Shy Dog" because they are, don't think they are mean. They aren't :)
Besides Hal, there are other ways to keep wolves off your property besides poison and shooting. Why, recently I uncovered a research project which employs the using of long-distance speaker phones/bull horns. The speakers emit certain howls known to be used in the marking of territory and to ward off enemy packs. Any pack nearby hears these calls (which need only be sounded so often) and go elsewhere to avoid conflict. This has been proven to effectively keep Canis Lupus off ranchers' land.
I support the management of wolves, just like cougars and bears. They've done so well since 1995 that the government needs to kill a certain number to keep the population down. This is the reason for the delistment, and is done with other predators too.
What I do not support is the arbitrary killing of any species (predator or no) because of uninformed reasons (as you so frequently spew out here).
It is people like you who make smoothe transitions impossible. But they've returned anyways.
uninformed reasons? Really...you must be an uninformed easterner. To put it bluntly, I will not lose my way of life to a bunch of canadian wolves, and neither will my neighbors. I will not idly sit by and watch people like you destroy livihoods so you can spout someting about "the greater good:/ Chist, we lived without them for 150 years, and we will live fine without them in the next few years also....
jesus christ, Hal, give it a rest. Go back to your trailer and get a life. There's got to be something better for you to do besides spend day and night making ininformed anti-wolf comments on youtube.
A rest? While my neighbors lose cattle to a bunch of canadian wolves we did not want but prople like you put on us? While the elk herd diminishes in size dur to wolf predation? The moose? What moose, most are gone in are area. I make antiwolf comments to the media, the legislature, and on youtube, so get use to it........
I say give it a rest because your mission has already failed. Wolves have been reintroduced and revailed in Yellowstone and elsewhere. The delisting is a sign they are no longer needing human protection, and so will be managed (by government officials only) accordingly.
You will never legally get to shoot a wolf, nor will you see the end of them as a species. Your vigour could be so much more useful elsewhere. This is not the 1930s anymore, so get used to it.
Wrong, you should see the facts. Indeed, there will be a season on wolves in Montana and Idaho this fall, unless the environmentalnazi judge rules against the people most affected by these vermin again. You would feel differently if your livihood is at risk due to these ruthless killers. And if he indeed does stop the season, then I am afraind people who are affected will take the law into thier own hands, and not just guns, but poilson also. See what a mess your kind has caused?
I understand the profit in the ranching industry has a slim margin. I'm not some uninformed PETA freak.
If there is no season, then the Park Service will dispatch certified rangers who will be authorised to keep the population down.
The only mess I can forsee (if your attitude is so widely shared) is what to do with all the confiscated ranch land when it is taken by the police because the ranchers refused to follow the laws of the state.
Maybe give it to the wolves for hunting territory!
wolf territory? Won't happen, and, any attempt to do so will result in no wolves, period. Leave the wolves in Alaska and Canada where they belong. "Confiscated Ranch Land", yea, right. You don't have a grip on reality. If not season, you will see alot of terrible things happening to your wolves, and not because people hate them, but because of the economics of this wolf experiment.
You speak as though you are in charge of much more than you are. Where do you get your information? On what grounds? These animals are protected by law.
Lastly- this is no experiment. They were reintroduced after decades of life in exile, which only happened because ignorant, wasteful hunters refused to open thier eyes and thought "Little Red Riding Hood" was a true story.
btw- Neither of us are going to win this. But I'm enjoying trading blows for the sake of strengthening argument.

@bm4nu You want pelts, huh? Cool, because I hear there's a certain kind of critter around that is very numerous and a menace to many other species.
They're called hunters. Start with them.

Wolves are fucking beautiful creatures. Humans = fail.
This is a step forward in correcting a big mistake, but there are still so many new ones that we make each day.

bah bah, more wolf hugger jargon. The howls, squeals, and other methods work only until the wolves find out they won't hurt them. Been tried, failed.
