  • This record was also played in the background of the BBC series 'Our World' in the episode that dealt with Somali Pirates (Just in case someone is looking it up)

  • nul, plat, non habite, demonstratif, aucun lien avec la profondeur du musicien!

  • lindo, a musica a dança... fantástico

  • kothbiro means rain is coming, the song is a traditional song sang during the coming of the rainy season, the rythm and most of words r his,i can put it in this contxt when taking care of cows goats and sheep my grandmother whenever she saw the weather changing she would go around looking for us and tell us heavy rains were coming and its time to take the animals home, cause its dangerous for us kids and animals.its from luo tribe in kenya.

  • I cry every time i listen to this song.... it is so touching... makes me thing about all the dehumanization and sadness not only in Africa but all over the world...:'(

    The Constant Gardener..... Great Movie!!!:)

  • stunning performance!

  • I found out from a friend I work with who is Kenyan, that "Kothbiro" means "the rain is coming". To me, that just makes the song that much more beautiful.

  • I agree :)

  • Have you got a text of this song? Or translation ? It's a beautyful song but I don't understand its words.

  • No, I wish I did. I was just able to find out what Kothbiro means. But if anyone does find out what the english translation is, please post it here!

  • I found sth :) "someone on wikianswers wrote: The lyrics go like this; "Dear children, the rain is coming, bring in the cattle, bring in our wealth.""

  • Find "Constant Gardener Ending" film on YouTube. There are lirycs in comments.

  • Hah, hahye hahye Ahye hahye Ahye hahye Om maam na pum imjya Kothbiro Ke luru do ketaa-lha Hah, hahye hahye Ahye hahye Ahye hahye Yah yebi tom nuguee Um kuru tili bare made Kothbiro Kem luru do ketaa-lha
  • ok you got the lyrics wrong.. its in luo and here is a more accurate translation

aa, aye aye.. (in most chants "ha" does not exist in the tribe)

    ouma be uwinja

    koth biro

    kel uru dhok e dala

    yaye nytihindo gi,

    un koro un utimoru nade

    koth biro,

    kel uru dhok e dala

  • Funny, the version I posted seemed to be the most pervasive one on the Internet...I would think it'd be right. Thanks for the correction. I'd hate to be the source of misinformation. :-)

  • That was a beautiful dance 4 an amazing song......

  • VERY BEAUTIFUL!

  • Justice for Africa.

Come on,I don't want to see this again.
