  • suena bien!!

    ¿que guitarra estás usando?

  • @muse06rock squire strat

  • As proven by time and again in other people's videos of this solo, there is a very fine line between rocking this solo like Tom and sounding completely cack! Sorry dude.

  • Fuck man! Why do the have to be $500 AUD? Oh well. I'm getting one anyway.

  • check my solo out on my channel

  • good job!

  • hahaha that pedal makes a pretty cool sound :D

  • Nice job!

    :)

  • very very nice.

  • It's drop D, otherwise you can't play the main riff.

  • are you using a digitech whammy pedal? and will it sound like that with an ibanez tubescreamer distortion pedal...i know how to do this solo but i dont have a pedal and i want a ibanez distortion pedal too..

  • superb man keep it up id like to get one iv always bin a fan of tom morello

  • can whammy pedals do dive bombs and whammy harmonics like a real whammy bar?

  • @StrattyBoiz yeah dude

  • @StrattyBoiz the digitech can do both but idk bout others

  • thats how he got the money for the pedal :)

  • uh no its a pitch shifter. depending on how far you push the expression pedal down is how much your pitch is raised by. i think this guy has it on two octaves meaning when the pedal is flat down the pitch has been raised two octaves higher.

  • great job man!!! i love those digitech pedals

  • you know your cool when your spending 200 dollars on a wah wah (not whammy) pedal when your playing a cheap-ass squir strat

  • u meant u know u're gay lol

  • i just bought the new digitech rp355 it s like the best one.=$249

  • hey i was just wandering where did you get that drum beat from? cuz its not the real song is it? cuz ive been looking for just some drum beats to my favourite songs. please youd be a big help!

  • lol great job, but your dressed like you just came back from robbing a bank :)

  • Shit, how much did u pay for that digitech pedal

  • They cost $200 new.

  • @ XanceMRevola

HA, ill believe you you can get them 200 bux new when you show me the link! ive looked everywhere on american sites and i cant find em 4 200! and they're even more expensive in australia.

  • ebay - £100 = $160-ish second hand

  • If are really on a budget I would recommend one of Digitechs Rp models. Granted it models the whammy pedal and is not an actual whammy it has alot of other effects and you can get one for about the same price depending on what model you want.

  • yup, nearly $500 AUS at some stores here :/

  • Fuck, man. Jealous.

Lock your windows, I might nab the pedal.

  • great!

  • can u send me the tabs??

  • you dont really need tabs, its really simple... watch where he plays. Use your ear. Its not that hard to pickup.

  • thanks i just learned it by ear yesterday

  • i have that whammy pedal, its incredible, nice sound men!! :-))

  • dude that solo was awesome. but the chorus you played before it is in drop d not standard

  • there is a close setting for that solo on the DiGitech RP50

  • yo that sounds perfect@!

  • noice. makes sure the dogs arent within ear shot for those last couple notes haha

  • wow that sounds sooo good

  • cool. where di you get your whammy pedal and how much was it? i want one now!

  • Average $200

  • thanx

  • a digitech whammy pedal is 200 and u can get it at guitar center

    its worth the money

  • They are $200 bucks. Go forth to guitar center!

  • Get the Digitech RP90, that excelente multi-effect/pre-amp pedal have the whammy incorporated. And have crybaby, vox and a full range wha too

  • sick!!! and I gotta ask what are you using to make your drum beats?

  • I was using a midi file

  • @prodrum19 wt so u can copy him and steal his amazing drums???

  • you are playing the first part completely wrong

its in drop d first of all

  • thanks for giving notice!!

  • wow u took that well btw nice job

  • @PandaPickups why drop d?is standard d tuning

  • @PandaPickups So what! You dont need to use a Drop D to play that park of the song. Why no just play like you self want to

  • @PandaPickups

dude you know how they say...if it sounds good it's good, if it sound shit then it's shit...this sounds good, very good...

  • hello mate do me a favor, can you tell what kind of effect this amplifier works, because it has two output amplifiers "pedal AMP AB" I have the rp250 and I can not make the sound clearer,

AMP A amplifier is factory set

    AMP and B the same,

please help me my friend, thanks

  • go trough the send and return outputs, if you have it.

  • that really WAS sick as fuck

  • bad tone...but good

  • nice maan

  • That was sick as fuck!

  • nice one!!

  • that was actually really good for that guitar coz tom does it on his telecaster but seriously that wasn't bad ignore all the bad comments coz there either envious that they cant or think that if someone else can copy tom morellos technique the tom morello isn't as good so anyone who does will say harsh and inappropriate things . but still awesome solo and keep on rocking:P

  • oliver the type of guitar he uses has little to do with how it sounds espcially from a teley to a strat but yeh that was great

  • true coz everyone knows that tone comes from your fingers but the guitar does have something to do with it considering there is a difference between the two and don't patronize me + that might not be a fender

  • I agree with leStijl. Although different guitars makes a difference to the sound, it makes the least difference when you consider the fact that amps and distortion/overdrive pedals shape the sound as well.

  • no really any guitarist should know for a fact around 90% of ur tone (your sound) comes from your fingers thats why some guitarist own 1 guitar so they no if somethings wrong that its coming from them

  • Ok by how it sounds I ment how well its played the guitar has alot to do with how it sounds... and your fingers? do you mean hitting the right fret... Thats not tone you guys are idiots

  • i fort it was awesome man :)

  • the neck pickup???? bad idea

  • thats an easy one... all you need is a whammy pedal and anyone could play it

  • bad ass

  • siiiiiiiick

  • u got close. not the rite notes on some of it

  • OWNED

  • what do u mean?

  • Me... you owned me, i can't play this sorta stuff on guitar lol. Been playing for 2 years but no way as good as you

  • this solo is in no way hard, like one string, all you need are the effects, like the whammy pedal

  • yo u ousin bass amp lol

  • dude u played the 1st part wrong.... and yet it sounded right...

  • i think he wasn't dropped D

  • love it all

  • god damn i need this pedal can somebody gibve me some money

  • somebody's not in drop d =o

personally i love the verse riff =]

  • great job dude

is the whammy pedal hard to use??

and around how much does it cost??

if u cud get bk to me on my page be gr8 thanks

  • no. its just turning knobs and pressing down with your foot. on average, it costs 100-150 for pretty good ones. the one he is using is the digitech whammy pedal. guitacenter for 160.

  • Hey!! I have the same guitar as you!!

  • thats a bad thing

  • LOL owned

  • yeah owned

  • ur right blakeboseph about the tapping and sweeping thing (even tho i'm not sure what the hell that has to do with anything on this video...). this is good but i hear a loud crackling noise and my volumes at like 40. idk if that the video or what. i love this solo tho.

  • Fuck me, great job !

  • Great Job

  • I always thought that you just grab the whammy bar shake it up and down while you slide your hand up and down the neck of the guitar.

  • LOL man! it's technically impossible!

  • Not really if you watch RATM playing bullet in the head in the studio you'll see that Tom starts to do his three solo's combined in to one and one of the solo's is him doing what I was saying before (by the way I don't really know if it was in the studio).

  • I think what you're talking about is him getting feedback then using his turning one of his pick ups volumes down all the way [ making a killswitch ] then switching between the pick ups fast and using the whammy bar on his guitar.

  • Thats not what I'm trying to say. I'm saying that some people just sweep and tap like crazy as fast as they can. Dimebag and Kirk did sweep and tap but they used them sparingly instead of constantly trying to play at warp speed.

  • did u start on the B string 11th fret cuz it looked lik it

  • 13th

  • whammy 4 pedal sucks

  • not true it is the best whammy pedal that is ass

  • dude... he fucking used the same pedal on the album.. you whore.

  • SydBarr3tt,

    Tom has a Whammy 1, not 4.

  • hey! Thank god some one out there still knows who Syd Barret is! I love Boston. Sorry to be weird, but ya made my day!

  • alot of people know who syd barret is

  • if u think the whammy sucks u need to open ur mind and stop being a talentless sheep it enables the guitar up to a whole new level of sounds

  • you sucks noob

  • I need T.P for my bunghole.

  • ..i'm still trying to find out why people think that morello is remotely close to best guitarist material..

  • I agree...I've never seen tom morello do anything cool on guitar without the effects whereas a superior guitar player such as chris broaderick can shred with effects without effects or acoustic. even dimebag used the whammy pedal more effectively imo.

  • morello is god. dimebag can suck his dick. I saw rage live, morello can shred your balls off mofo.

  • iunno man you just don't have me convinced I mean this with zero hostility my friends saw him in LA and they said he was a dickhead. and I actually have good reason to believe I can sweep his ass to hell. cuz well I sweep, and legato, and tap and I don't drown my tone in gimmicks and effects. you can say he has a bigger fanbase and finiancial backing but that's about it.

  • No no no no no no..

  • sweeping and tapping doesnt mean your some virtuoso. Dimebag darrel and kirk hammett were some of the most influential and talented metal guitarists out there. They do their jobs well because they don't just sweep, tap, and shred like hell. They do shred but they hardly ever sweep. They shred what fits into the song. Just because you can sweep/tap like crazy dont mean that you are so great. You need to actually use artistic skill and contribute to the song like tom morello, dimebag, and kirk

  • Lol what? Kirk Taps on One, Ride the Lightnig and Blackened and he does a 3 string sweep on Leper Messiah. As for Dimebag not being able to shred? He could fucking shred as well as anybody. Never group Dimebag and Kirk with Tom Morello this solo relies on a stupid whanny pedal and is horrificly basic.

  • i think you got it all wrong. He didn't say that kirk and darrel weren't able to tap/sweep. He just said that they shreded, but with and artistic aim and not just for speed's sake.

And by the way, this solo might be really basic, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't fit the song perfectly nor does it mean that Morello is a basic guitarist.

He uses a lot of effects, thats were his originality comes from, but he can also play very fast and technical, the solo of "Know your enemy" is a proof of it

  • Holy shit, I left that comment 4 months ago. That Know your enemy solo didn't seem to be very technical...

  • But it is, my friend, it is.

He also did some more shreding for a band named "Lock Up" before RATM

  • wait wait wait.... who's a dickhead??

  • morello is amazing but dimebag is one of the best guitarists of all time... dont dis him

  • you fucking etarted propley dont know shit about guitar or playing dimebag can rip morello apart

  • awesome job on the solo.

Who cares what the back track sounds like? We all want to listen to the solo.

  • back track sucks

  • CHANGE THE MUSIC

  • tommorow my digitech whammy 4 is coming i am so ganna use it

  • good solo man! I'd like to have 1 of those whammy pedals too...

  • huge fingers?

  • LOL!! sorry for my MASTODONTIC hands!

    hey, i'm a guitarist... XD

  • n oits fine lol its kwl it just looks like ur playing rly well wit heasy good job

  • yesssssss

  • solo doing wrong man almost there

    but not right

  • dude... who the fuck cares if its exactly the same as morello's? good musicians always try and switch things up a bit when playing live so that they don't seem too repetitive anyway.

  • The solo sounds alright, but you're playing the rhythm part totally wrong...doesn't even sound like you're in the right tuning!

But, if the video was for the solo, then it's fine

  • i think he's playin a full step down...

but awesome job on the solo

  • i dont no how to do the solo like that, on different strings, i hav to do it all on the b string, moving down, which is awkward and very confusing, but it sounds cool when you slide up to the tenth fret, which i hav to rely on coz i havnt got a whammy pedal
