The evidence shows that these breeds generally referred to as pitbull are unpredictable and can be very deadly. They are not the only dog that is dangerous, but they are dangerous. It is likely due to people breeding aggressive pits for sports, sadly that gene pool is out there. I've know people to have dogs for decades with out incident then they get a pitbull and something dies.

It's not about the breed being "bad" or more likely to attack than another. It's about whether that breed can kill a small child, or an elderly person. Pit Bulls can do a lot more damage than most breeds. Neither pit bulls, nor chimps, nor pythons or any animal that can kill a person should be allowed as a pet. Sorry to any supporters of the breed but you must value innocent human life over the privilege of having a specific breed of animal as a pet. Simple as that.

I used to worry about Pit Bulls, when there were many news reports about them being dangerous, but haven't heard or seen much mention of such reports for many years now. When well raised by owners, these dogs reportedly are very good ; also energetic. I know a young couple with one and it's solid, muscular, and playfully energetic even with me, who barely knows the dog.

The evidence shows that these breeds generally referred to as pitbull are unpredictable and can be very deadly. They are not the only dog that is dangerous, but they are dangerous. It is likely due to people breeding aggressive pits for sports, sadly that gene pool is out there. I've know people to have dogs for decades with out incident then they get a pitbull and something dies.

apparently you are confusing facts with your imagination. there is no issue with the breed. it has been very well documented that the risk of being bitten by a dog are inversely proportional to the size of the breed. @xlrod183 There is an issue with the breed, you can live in denial. Breed= dangerous injuries. Gerbils are deemed the pet most prone to biting, tigers are far less prone to biting. Tiger are illegal because they are far more dangerous when they bite. Pit-bull breeds, are dogs were breed to be violent and dangerous. Its still in the breed. you can have 10 pits that never have an incident, and 1 pit that kills someone. You can't ignore the 1 because there are 10 good. That stupidity.

Pits were always from the start in pit fighting but when they were originally designed they usually didn't kill their sparing partner and was brought home to watch the baby in the back yard after the fight. People like Helen Keller owned a pit, President Roosevelt owned a Pit Bull Terrier, the first american dog hero was a pit.

AKITA and SHIBU INU are very aggressive.. smaller dogs are pretty nervous and aggressive too. my cousins chiuwawa, ZAZU bit him in his face 3 times.. his own master! GFYH. Yes, wake up and smell the dog fart, pitbulls were bred to be vicious for centuries so they're naturally aggressive and the owner needs to teach the dog otherwise it'll suddenly snap one day when you least expect it no matter how cute you think he/she is. A woman near me raised dogs all her life and owned 2 pitbulls and thought they wouldn't hurt a fly but she accidentally stepped on one of her dog's foot and was put in the hospital after being bitten by both of them all over her body.

It's not about the breed being "bad" or more likely to attack than another. It's about whether that breed can kill a small child, or an elderly person. Pit Bulls can do a lot more damage than most breeds. Neither pit bulls, nor chimps, nor pythons or any animal that can kill a person should be allowed as a pet. Sorry to any supporters of the breed but you must value innocent human life over the privilege of having a specific breed of animal as a pet. Simple as that.

I used to worry about Pit Bulls, when there were many news reports about them being dangerous, but haven't heard or seen much mention of such reports for many years now. When well raised by owners, these dogs reportedly are very good ; also energetic. I know a young couple with one and it's solid, muscular, and playfully energetic even with me, who barely knows the dog.
