  • have you played b.c. rich mockingbird pro x

  • Good videos, enjoyed the riffs and chat. You should give us a tutorial lesson on how you got those wild tremolo sounds.

  • have you ever played the randy rhoads x-series (Jackson) especially the RRXMG??

    are they nice

  • Those bends on the jackson, were fucking sexy.

  • What about the Floyd Rose Special (Bc Rich joey jordison 2 warlock) (my guitar)

  • What's your opinion on basswood body guitars?

  • Dude. GOTOH!!! They made Original Edge trems, have a higher quality than Schaller, cost less, come with locking studs and adjustable arm tension. Suhr only uses Gotohs now as John was sick of having to hand file and modify Schaller made Floyd parts that were not machined correctly.

  • =O views = 77777... =O

  • Bc Rich Asm Pro boys!!! It worth the money

  • the floyd rose on a charvel san dimas, is a floyd rose frt-o2000, MADE IN ASIA

  • what are your thaugts on the ibanez s570?

  • How is Jeff Beck able to remain in tune with his style of playing involving lots of tremolo bends and regular finger bends? He uses a Fender Tremolo system I believe.

  • I'm only sticking with Schecter and ibanez, I use to have a ltd ec- 1000 and wow the worst fret buzz ever and a complete wast of Money

  • Zr brigde with zero point sistem is the best for heavy metal....

  • @Deviandre is the edge zero bridge good like the zr?

  • great vids dude..im surprise no agile guitars made it in..i have 2 baritones...best axes ive ever played

  • gibson guitars have terrible distortion for metal

  • hey man I really appreciate these vids! thanks a lot! have you ever tried a jackson dk2? mines coming soon it has a licensed floyd rose jackson tremolo, I'm wondering how it will be.

  • Great information and playing!! I've been practicing on a budget guitar and is looking for a mid-high end axe, but one factor that I haven't been able to gather a lot of information on is the compatibility of the necks with short fingers(I have terribly short ones). So my question is this: Which brand/style necks would you recommend someone with a very limited reach? I'm sort of tossing between Ibanez and the ones on the ESP Horizon series... Thoughts? Thank you in advance!

  • Hey, great videos and info!

I have a Fender HM Stratocaster form the late 80's or early 90's, (the one that says "Strat" on the headstock), it's got the Kahler Spyder bridge and Kahler locking nut, and I think Dimarzio pickups, 24 fret neck. I love the old beast, have you had any experience with or opinion of them?

    Thanks!

  • once it comes to trems id go with Ibanez any day! but if not, id stick to Ibanez :P or Epiphone, i love how Epiphone is CHEAPER then Gibson, but some have WAY more comfortable playing them those EXPENSIVE gibsons, i stick to the ones i LOVE. Bass guitars are really worth more then $4000 :P guitars arnt really lol

  • I have a esp ltd ex-50 which is the cheapes ex model. and its amazing. pickups are not the best but the tuning is just great... i would reccomend

  • you seem to know alot about guitars......do you think the synyster gates custom is good? plz reply

  • @YOUBOOBER12 if you mean the new one, its good, my girlfriend has it, i added some Dunlop 12-72's strings on it, had to play with them trem ALOT to get it to its perfect floating position, dont get one unless you wanna deal with the trem and you will need to take care of it alot, but its worth it, nice fret leveling, it has AMAZING sustain and the neck is comfortable :) play one yourself before even trying to buy it :)

  • so is a Jackson Kelly JS32t with a licensed floyd rose a good or bad metal guitar?

  • thnk u so much. now i no wut guitars to buy or play

  • @xeasdrossara

Whoa, that should be fine as gain goes.

  • what do you think about ibnez iceman and gibson sg

  • what do you think about jackson dinky dxmg or the jackson DK2 are they good or bad heavy metal guitar?

  • question is the BC Rich Deluxe Jr. V at the known as the Jr. V NJ Deluxe or is it the Jr. V Standard???

  • the bc rich nj jrv, is called nj jrv, the deluxe is called dlxjrvo

  • do you think it would be good to put a floyd rose on a dean razorback that didnt come with one and also to put a locking nut on it?

  • how is this guy not famous?

  • @brandonmarks13279 thats what i said lol

  • honesty rocks

  • the one brand that has never disappointed me at any point is schecter. one of my friends has 2, most of my guitarist-friends have one, and i have one, i bought a $500 schecter and i honestly think its the greatest deal there is. any other brand would and does charge far far more for the same thing. everything schecter does is done well and doesnt disappoint. btw, bc rich is just a bad brand in general for the bodies are uncomfortable, and sound very bad. plus theres too much flare in the looks

  • @TangeClown

Meh, some B.C. Rich's are quite good for their price, like the Ironbird Pro, which blows most ESP/LTD's out of the water value wise.

But still not as good as a good ol Hellraiser.

  • @Madbutcher305 well i suppose i cant say i have played every bc rich out there XD as for esp/ltd i think esp is schecter just more expensive and less creative with body shapes. ltd is very much like every other main brand out there. the lesson here is that there are very few guitars that beat the hellraiser. 2 of my friends have one. very nice guitars

  • @ZachForgives

    Guess your right.

Still, there are wose companies at the price point; Dean in particular.

  • @ZachForgives

    Not as badly as some.

  • I have an edge pro and it goes out of tune when I use it, not a whole lot but a little and it's noticeable I've adjusted it and made it flush to the body of the guitar! I don't know what else to do if you could help me I would appreciate it !

    thanks

  • I'm about to get a new guitar, my budget is around 500$, could raise a bit. I mainly want to play thrash metal, but could also dig some clean or low Modern alternative rock distorted sounds, but my main is thrash metal, what guitars you recommend? I used to have my eye on bc rich and Dean, but apparently they're not that good at the price range, also read that many ibanez are bad. Now I'm looking out mostly to a schechter. Can u help me?

  • @MehdiGlz

Hmm, most guitars aren't very good at that price.

Still, I'd go for a Schecter or Ibanez at the price.

  • @MehdiGlz

Scratch that, try a Washburn or get a JTR Elvira, which is a very nice guitar for the price and has a nice neck and sounds good.

  • Point 13: SO TRUE!! Too bad no1 gives that any thought. =(

Point 14: True as well. That's a great piece of advice. :D

  • But I think you are wrong with the signature guitars. Lots of famous guitarists use signature guitars (Randy Rhoads V... or John Conolly from Sevendust uses those Dime Signatures...) and I don´t think they are some Randy Rhoads or Dimebag wanna-be

  • Thanks a lot dude, I never heard about Carvins, but now I´m going to order my custom DC125... thanks a lot for your helpful video !

  • I get guitars that i like for playability then put in the electronics that i want. I don't think it's ever a "waste of money" to create a guitar that is good for your hand and for your music. I also have A-B'd a Sceamin Demon, EMG 81, DiMarzio Super 3 through clean and dirty Mesa Recs and transistor rigs; these pups didn't sound much different; but the AMPS DID! A good amp is most important, then pups. All of my guitars sound great thru the Mesa Triple Rectifier, thats the expensive truth!

  • the answer is at 7:40

  • Dude what about the 2nd most popular guitar on the world...i mean Gibson les paul?

  • @mits0takhs17 well it may be a good guitar but not all the gibsons are so good

  • @potatojuice321 Ofc dude Gibson Explorer is a piece of crap! I think les paul is good because many popular and good guitarists play with Les paul like Slash,Zakk Wylde,Doug Aldrich and many more!

  • hey what are your thoughts on schecter

  • To be honest its true. not all of the expensive guitars are good.

i got a guitar wich is made in hungary. its called bigson.

it have powerfull no name pickups, but a shitty tremolo (i replaced it with a Takeuchi TRS PRO B Tremolo)

  • dude you make that the bads guitars sounds good! XD you are a excellent player.... and a Question, what do you thing about epiphone explorer 1984 ?

  • THE MUSIC IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

  • what's your thoughts on seven strings

  • Well, bolt-on means less sustain. Vai is using sustainer systems, not sure about the Joe.By the way, DMO, you stated Rockfields on the Warbeast. Have you tried tapping on that one? I have a bit hard time there, compared to the SD designed on the Jackson KVX 10. Thanks..

  • @MadSciontist28 @Madbutcher305 Mahogany sounds nice and warm when paired with passive pickups right? I'm a huge heavy metal fan, not such a huge heavy metal player and as I'm looking into a new guitar for Rock music (Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, AC/DC and as heavy as Melvins or Metallica and I also like to play Blues/Jazz) I'm thinking of a standard range Gibson Explorer. Mahogany, nice passive pickups, widely used, any opinions guys? It doesnt have to be a Gibson model, just love that shape. :D

  • @Nickpatient

I'd try an ESP fixed bridge for that. Remember to try the Gibson at a shop before buying it there, as you can never be sure with Gibson quality control.

  • @Nickpatient

Correction; a Schecter C1 Custom with probably fare better with its more varied pickups and set neck construction. Can also come with an original floyd.

  • what do you think about the limited edition bc rich IT jr v?

  • DP: And Ran guitars cost around 4000 pounds.

Also, listen to the Carin V220 is this dudes first vid. Very heavy.

  • I have a Epiphone Wilshire Limited Edition .. and is a really good guitar...

    = A little fret buzz

    =Not Tremolo sistem

...IT is made with Mahogany But it sounds really heavy...

    Sorry about my english

  • kool vid but...

i disagree with you as far as alder sounding "extremely heavy"

IMO the best tone wood for todays metal is Mahogany

if you look at todays current metal bands all of their guitars are mahogany bodies

i mean granted alder can probably do metal but more like 80s metal

the jackson you demoed was a lil too bright for todays standards.

also IMO the best for a guitar is Mahogany body and maple neck with set thru(or neck thru) conscrution, active pups and a sting thru bridge design.

  • @MadSciontist28

Generally Mahogany is a slightly cheaper wood and is used on popular guitars like Schecters (also, "Modern Metal" isn't necessarily heavier than 80s stuff (which is damn good by the way), and is currently dominated by super-mainstream bands like A7X and Lamb Of God. Go figure). However, Alder is lighter and carries a slightly heavier sound; it does have less sustain qualities than Mahogany, so it really depends on what you want.

And passives can be as good as actives:P

  • @Madbutcher305 well i dont know about mahogany being a cheaper wood of thats the case then why doesnt gibson use it? i know companies want to keep cost low and stuff but they also go for quality too. and yes mahogany is whats dominating the scene right now(as i said before). i think alder is too bright for whats being played today. alot of metal bands(or guitarists more like) usaully go for more a dark, warm tone with tons of sustain. idk IMO mahogny is warmer than alder resulting a heavier tone

  • @MadSciontist28

    Gibson does use it :P

Anyway, several extremely heavy bands use Alder bodied guitars (Vader uses Ran guitars, more specifically the alder bodied InVader, and Vader is definitely far heavier than your average metalcore band in terms of tone).

Also, the King V is in standard tuning (I think) whereas most bands downtune these days, naturally creating a chug like effect. I can produce some level of heaviness on a downtuned strat .

And quality seems to be avoided by most companies:P

  • @Madbutcher305 understandable but more often than not most guitarist of todays metal bands choose mahogany bodies. thats fine and dandy that a strat can be downtuned but it stil gonna be bright. its not gonna produce a nice warm and heavy tone like a ESP or Schecter.

and your right about some companies skipping on quality. from what i hear Gibson has been doing that lately and thats why i will never a $2000 guitar. anything from $400-800 would suffice and plays just as good if not better.

  • @MadSciontist28

You're right. It really does depend on what you're after from your tone.

I'm a thrash metal man so Alder is for me.

  • @Madbutcher305 well as they to each their own lol

  • i generally agree with most of this video but gibson standards are not as bad as you say.

I played a Gibson Les Paul standard through a jcm2000 combo and then a roland cube 60 and i got a pretty incredible sound, no buzz. th pick ups are a bit noisy when not playing though.

  • im sorry but you cant say gibsons are no good at metal

metal was created on the back of Gibson and Marshall, not bc rich, line 6 bullshit

and there is nothing wrong with passive pickups, emg sound sterile in comparison to a good set of humbuckers

  • Congratulations on the great video! But let me ask you a question... where are you from? Regards.

  • does the edge pro flutter as well as the original Schaller ones?

  • heres a dive bomb............ POP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What do you think about the cort x11; that's an economic guitar, but i've listened some guitar players who say that it has a great tunning stability ?

  • @evilcorpse135 a lot of people say that can rival ibanez Prestige lower models and jacksons tremolos... then i tested one... TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! you can get a jackson/ibanez/bc rich/esp guitar of $1000 by only buying the X-11... i prefer the X-custom its way superior

  • Comment removed

  • I think you can fix a good guitar, as a matter of fact, I've customized an Ibanez RG270 with dimarzio evolution pickups and a edge pro tremolo, and it sounds awesome, then I can not agree with suggestions on this video, better pups and tremolo make BIG DIFFERENCE on average guitars. in fact, fixes where about 500 dollars, but it sounds really close to a Music Man JP6, that is a 2000 quitar. That is not cost effective??

  • My Kramer meats all the requirements you have in this video but I still get a drop out when I bend at 19th / 20th fets areas. Floyed 1 origanal ....22 fret neck. Any sugestions?

  • fucking show off!

  • Gibsons simply aren't fit for metal plain and simple. I love gibsons for classic rock but they can't pull metal.

  • @sk89123 yes i agree 100 %

  • @sk89123 Slap some active emg's in a les paul standard with a mahogany top and they can.

vut its alll in personal oppinion.

  • @sk89123 even on heavy metal, a good les paul fits well, and a flying V is totally made for metal, i dont know what this guy is talking about reffering to Gibsons,

  • Can someone help me on picking a guitar?! Idk whether to pick a Jackson kvx10 or a Bc rich JRV guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • @gjmatamoros i say the jackson, but both are good

  • @andrewds98 ok kool. thanks! :) do you think the js32 will be good???

  • @gjmatamoros i have never actually played a js32 but thats because i have a js30 (about the same thing) and its pretty sweet for such a cheap guitar

but if you want to pay for the kvx10 that would still be worth it. its completely your choice,

but just so you know i wouldnt reccomend the js30 (if you find one) if you play sitting down a lot because of where the jack is but its better in the js32 and the 32t.

  • @andrewds98 yea i would love to buy the kvx10 but unfortunately is a lot more so ill buy the js32t king v since is like the best king v guitar i can get at that price. thanks for helping me man.

  • @gjmatamoros well since you want a v i say go get that frickin jackson

  • @andrewds98 haha, yea i will. sorry, i wont bother you on comments anymore lol

  • @gjmatamoros lol i dont mind i like helping people pick guitars

  • Its the scarface of metal!

  • I'm kind of a guitar newbie, could someone tell me how I cam achieve a nice heavy metal/rock sounding guitar? Do I change my amp, my pickups, my strings or what?!!!!

  • @Edders666 There's not really a set in stone recipe for what makes a guitar "metal", because tone is subjective; with that being said, some things are a necessity. High gain amplifiers are a must for awesome metal sounds. In my opinion, the best metal amps are Engels and Mesa Boogies, however, they are expensive. For lower budget options, line 6 does the job well, as well as peavey amps. As pickups go, Active Emg's will give you a great metal sound, but seymour duncan JB or distortion are great

  • buying guitars on ebay, is risky ive bought many guitars on ebay and most of them just really didnt play well, i pretty much would stick to guitar stores or craigslist. buying guitars without having played them first is shit.

  • Comment removed

  • I've been seeing more people rate Carvin highly recently, but in the past, they seemed to have durability and horrible customer service issues and it's made me gun shy about buying anything from them (just like I won't buy Sony laptops/pc's because of similar past issues).

You're right about Gibson. Arrogant bastards.

  • @Melis8163

They're as good as an original floyd Rose, and due to the fact that quality of the original floyd recently is poor by comparison compared to what it has been, many manufacturers now use these as stock bridges. Evh and music man guitars ( both very expensive brands) use the Gotoh licensee floyd. Also I believe suhr and caparison are using them too now. They're great, have some nifty little features and I haven't heard a bad thing about them.

  • what do you think of the gotoh licensed tremolo?

  • what do you think of the gotoh licensed tremolo?

  • i like your videos very much, but cmon man you can afford buying all that expensive guitars and can't buy a better camera or at least record the sound with a computer while you play?

  • about the number of frets my guitar is a "TG zero" and it has 27 FRETS :D

  • I have two Ibanez guitars: My first, Ibanez SAS32FM, and my second, Ibanez RG4570Z.

The SAS32FM (made in Korea) is a disappointment to me. It has a cheap trem - no string locks. It goes out of tune once you start bending a string, which is the biggest "it sucks" thing about it. It's feels good to play it but it gets some buzz issues once the strings get a little old or dirty.

The RG4570Z (made in Japan) is splendid. Awesome ZR trem, stays in tune, comes with awesome metal and clean humbuckers

  • Isnt 8:48 one of EVH signature guitar's?

  • See, Gibsons aren't always made for metal DESPITE the fact that they have active EMGs. The Ibanez that I want has a Mahogany body with a Flame Maple Top and I've looked up their vids. The guitar seems pretty metal and I'm pretty sure with Evolutions, X2N, or D-Activator Xs, it would be even more killer! Point is, I think Ibanez makes better Mahogany-wood guitars for metal than Gibson, a company that strives on blues and alternative rock.

  • hey guys, don't be scared off by him saying not to buy an Ibanez with anything but an Edge Pro or ZR trem.

I can't comment on the Edge Zero but i'm pretty sure it has SOMETHING to it if it's made by Gotoh and is basically a ZR but using knife-edges similar to the Edge Pro.

also, the Edge III is not as good as a Floyd, and that's obvious. not as much flutter and kind of annoying whammy bar. but if you put lube (chapstick, graphite, nut sauce, etc) on the knife posts, it stays in tune perfect.y

  • 1:22

Was that your explorer? If so, awesome pickguard, I want to do that with an aluminium plate or stainless steel plate on my Epiphone explorer (I'm just a teen, I can't afford a Gibsbom).

  • i own a gibson explorer and i get minimul buzz and ive honestly never heard a more grounded hard hitting guitar. it has a really nice wooden finish that works fine and its a dream to play as its nice and solid with a super smooth fret board and solid neck. Don't diss gibson, i have a stagg flying V copy but really i use my explorer for everything and it works great.

  • What is a good metal guitar with good pickups that I can get from 400-800$

  • @nickknight303 there's alottaaa good ESP's for that price like an EC1000 i think thats about 800 with emg 81/85. id check more into the ESP line buddy

  • nice review man, i was really sold on the shred-x explorer before i saw this.

    thanks.

  • @Julz333666

If you like the Shred-X Explorer, buy it.

All you need to do to fix that guitar's tuning problem is install the $40 dollar lock clamp from Kahler.

Problem solved! I don't understand how Dmometalguitar could have overlooked the most obvious of solutions.

  • @darthinfurnus yeah, i've thought about that.

the problem is he rips so hard on gibsons in general that i'm thinking maybe i fix the tuning issue but still come off unhappy in other areas.

it's pretty expensive for my budget and i want whatever guitar i buy to pretty much be spot on.

i'll have to do some more research and test a few.

  • @Julz333666 While I agree that Gibson's quality control is a bit suspect, you can still find great one. Just make sure you play as many of them as you can to see if one of them is better than the rest.

  • Wow,you really know your stuff! Thank you,ive been looking into metal guitars..im only 13,and i dont have alot of money. Ive got abot 630saved up,and counting.Plus i might use some of my dividend. Im looking into a Ltd Deluxe EC-1000. Would you reccomend this as a good metal guitar that plays pretty heavy and stays in tune well? Or just a good guitar in general?

  • Thank you for these videos, you know you're stuff.

  • Yeah, I always glad my uncle and brother always told me not to get a new, but just get it sold and get a guitar thats really meant for you.

  • this is like stating the obvious but nice try.

  • Great job mate!

What do you think about rosewood vs maple fingerboards for metal?

  • I just bought a Schector Hellraiser C1 like the one in this series of vids. But you mentioned it as a replacement for the shitty guitar. Does this mean you dont recommend it as a good metal guitar?

  • @Samsinge Dude that guitar is awesome, trust me

  • I have a Jackson Dinky DXMG equiped with EMG's HZ passive pickups and i wanna change these for Emg's 81/85 active pickups. Is it going to sound better?

  • @TheMasterofshred I thought often about equipping my guitar with new active pickups and i ended up that i diddnt do anything. You should check the Seymour Duncan Blackouts, for my style of music they sound better than emgs... And on mybirthday my girlfriend gave me a present ... seymour duncan blackouts! wuha! installed and yes, the sound is way better now^^, but i use a Ibanez RG guitar

  • Maybe I don't have the ear of perfection that's why to me my ESP M-50 sounds, feel and stays in tune just fine.. although I with it had a longer sustain while doing the tremolo pulls =)

  • Guitar's scale length isn't determined by the number of frets. It's determined by the length from the nut to the bridge. The number of frets is irrelevant. Washburn's EC29 & EC36 guitars are 25.5" scale (same as a 22 fret strat), and have either 29 or 36 frets. Likewise, several 27" scale guitars only have 22 frets, despite having the scale being 1.5" longer than a strat.

  • Hey, good review. Really helped me learn some choices. I was Probably gonna go with a Jackson KVX10 king v with a floyd or a Jackson JS32 King V with Floyd Rose. they both have licensed Floyds but i saw that B.C. Rich Deluxe Jr V with original floyd. What sould i choose? I dont really have a lot of cash but i am looking for something pretty decent. Please help.

  • Stumbled upon your Kahler bending problem video and after watching the Good & Bad series you've been subscribed!

  • Hey I was wondering, I was thinking about buying the wolfgang special guitar. I Havent gotten to play it yet and I was wondering if you knew anything that I should be aware of about it.

  • I have a Schecter Jeff Loomis signature in red, an Ibanez RG3ex1 with an orange/yellow quilt top, a Washburn X-50 Pro FE and a Jackson DK2M Dinky in black with dimarzio pickups, personally i prefer my DK2M out of all of them it is just awesome

  • everyone who wants to play metal guitar should be strapped to a chair and forced to watch these videos.

  • Comment removed

  • @spudzdad1 Well, ritchie blackmore ws nvr a heavy metal player. In Iron maiden, Murray earlier hd dimarzio humbucks in his strat. then, he started replacing the stock pups of American standard strat with seymour duncans hot rails and so did Janick gers. Smith's strats were always HSS config. Glenn tipton also used to replace his pups with ESP stock humbucks...... " YOU NEED HUMBUCKS TO GET CHUNKY METAL TONE, AND MALMSTEEN does not use that tone".

p.s. I use HSS strat with a hot rail at neck.

  • What do you think about a fender stratocaster american standard with hs-3 pickups ? (to play sometimes heavy metal ?)

  • is the Floyd Rose Special a good system?

  • Whats a good guitar for rock blues jazz and metal?

  • @ThePassing101

    Look into carvin.

  • also i have a gibson v no complaints bout it sounds heavy plays great and has none of the probems u keep on telling people bout

  • ESPS DA BEST!!!

  • u show up the great knowledge of guitars stuff , it's very useful , support u !!!! keep it ;)

  • Im hoping one day you do a video of low pro edge from ibanez vs floyd rose. I think it would be a close one.

  • what do u think about schecter guitars, not only the hellraiser?

  • Any hardwear differences between Charvel San Dimas style 2-2h and the Style 1-2h?

  • well i trust my edge III trem on my ibanez guitar but like you said before. The only thing about it is that there is little to no flutter

  • Sorry to whine,

But if you think passives are cheaper then actives,

You haven't heard of Bare knuckle pickups :P

    or bull dogs...........

  • passive pickups are NOT easier to install, the active pickups don´t even need to be soldered anymore!

  • @johnmalagueta If you go from passive to active, you still need to solder

  • @overclocked221 the only thing you have to solder, in EMG pickups (don´t really know much about the seymour duncan live wires) is the jack, the rest is completely made without soldering, I have made a guitar with EMG´s 81 and 85 without soldering anything but the jack...

  • I have to say, I've watched all three of your videos and I found them to very helpful. I agreed with almost everything you said and demo'd, and even though you have far more experience than I do, (and more skill to boot) I didn't agree with you saying that the Mockingbird ST was a bad B.C. Rich guitar. I played one the other day and found it to be pretty much the perfect guitar for me. Could you explain why you thought the Mockingbird ST was a bad guitar? Or do you have a video explaining why?

  • Your personal review videos are awesome! Makes me looks at things in a different way. Thanks for these.

One request.....can you change the background video music to something else? When watching, it feels like i'm watching some sort of game show....lol

Thanks again for creating the vids!

  • damn it... i want an gidson v.... you say theyr a dissapointment ..but i want that old school bay area thrash guitar ... and i love v's any suggestions?

  • @SixxHundredSixtySixx yeah dude that gibson i dont care what anyone says and yeah ill probably take some flak for praising gibson but what this video says isnt all true, theres alot of good tips but his gibson bashing is totall unwarranted, the vs and sgs they make today have a really similar sound and trust me its sweet just check out my channel i got a demo of my sg through an mg15 and for a small amp with a supposedly "overrated price" it sound really aggressive

  • I love messing with trems

btw I have a liscensed floyd and it has insane tuning stability, once I had a problem with the high e string going like .0001 of a step out of tune but replacing the strings fixed it... probably the fact of the locking bridge not locked tight enough

  • great videos man!! Thanks

I hate it that ESP can't sell their explorer anymore

(James Hetfield one) It sounds much better than the Gibson one to me.

  • id love to know how a graphite guitar holds up for playing metal

  • hey dmo i got a few questions.

    1. i am looking at 2 guitars, and one has a liscensed double locking trem. what do u think bout that one?

    2. and the other guitar is robot tuning, its a gibson robot explorer. what do u think bout this guitar?

3.the guitar with the floyd is a dean razorback explosion. what do u think bout all this?

  • @ESPMETALLICAFAN17 seriously ... DONT GET AN ROBOT GUITAR! theyr gay and extremely overpriced... sheesh its only a guitar if u want a tuner get one for 20 $

  • ESP IBANEZ and Jackson are the best guitars ! For Floyd rose ;) your vid is so good thanks i know what i must do look on a Floyd Thanks man i suscribe !

  • awesome series of vids man I agree with most things here but don't agree with buying from online sources(excluding custom orders) just for the fact that everybody has bad days even luthiers I am a die hard carvin guy who also loves b.c.rich and despises gibson (why drive a model t when you can own a ferrarri ) I just wanna add the most stable flyodd I've ever owned outa 20 + guitars was a carvin made on a original ultra V also the absolute best sounding pickups puts an 81 to shame my main axe

  • the music is shit annoying

  • @sk8boarder125 I have to agree.

  • I can just tell you know what you're talking about, thanks for the vids. I decided on getting a jackson Kelly ke3

  • man, can you help me??

i wanna change the pick-ups of my ibanez rg370 dx lh...

i want to change for something good, like seymour duncan pick ups

can you suggest me humbuckers and single coils?(my guitar has 2 humbuckers and 1 single coil)

  • @lizardinhu ok, im not the dude who made the vid but i can help you, if you want change them for metal in the bridge you could put a seymour duncan distortion (thats what i did on my sg its pretty brutal and epic) however in the neck you might want something warm and less output, maybe a duncan jazz? or 59 (thats what i have in my sg neck positoin) or if want a pickup that can do everthing the jb (bridge) and jazz (neck) and for single coil i dont no maybe a jb junior, hope this helps.

  • @lizardinhu

    Rockfield Fat Ass-Bridge

    Rockfield Mafia-Neck

Dimarzio Chopper or other rail pickup in the middle.

  • to you gibson haters, i agree that gibsons are overpriced but beleive me a custom gibson is amazing, but lower budget ones do fail, the only exception is the sg special faded, because that is a amazing guitar for hard rock and rythm metal.

  • Thanx for the information! There were many things I never was aware about.

  • That song is gonnna haunt me in my sleep :o
