  • From time to time I come here to watch this video and then I feel butterflies in my stomach. Is this love? :)

I love the new models too starting from the 997, but this car is a dream. And that engine sound...

  • @majom89 It must be love :)

  • my uncle has this car. turned up the boost to 1 bar. Makes your face melt.

  • @griesrt Understandable :)

  • Sounds like a VW [#928s_are_the_best]

    Joking - sweet looking car,

  • @dcrasta Purrs like a happy kitten, lol

  • @dcrasta I was about to say, this was 911 comeback after strongly considering replacing the 911 with the 928

  • An engineering masterpiece.

  • @NASIMNASIM No kidding!

  • You should ad 'yt:stretch=16:9' to the tags and the video will look much better ;)

  • schönsten 911 überhaupt ! <3 964

  • Man I love this model. Though the 993 was also gorgeous but then came the 996. Though lately it seems they are slowly coming back to their senses and going with updated classic shapes which is what Porsche was always about.

  • the 964 body is defiantly the best looking they made- they really got it with this car. the 993 was a huge let down

  • @makaveliguy Agreed.

  • @makaveliguy Its a matter of taste but I could not agree more. But that goes only for coupe, no cabrio.

  • killer with the face of a child

  • @orel0r Looks like the innocent flower but is a serpent underneath.

  • DDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNNNNNN its nice.. and the title didnt lie, he did drive off and not floor it, i liked it because of that mostly. To many people lie about their videos in the titles.

  • @matty2k001 Thank you. I try to be honest.

  • Hässliche Felgen, geiles Auto :)

  • @Nsrmex Schönheit liegt im Auge des Betrachters ;)

  • @LauraMuse18

  • Best looking 911 ever build but inside of the car is very outdate.

I wish Porche use 964 style for their new 998,991 model.

  • my dream car, luv the porsh

  • BAD BOY!

  • is this already considered to be a classic ? :D

  • Will these hold up as a daily driver?

  • If you are interested, you should check out a webpage, porschearchive /dot/ com. Just google it. I found it very useful, 'cause there is a complete timeline and a "how to spot" tab for each car, which makes easier to identify them. It helped me a lot, maybe it will help some of you too. If you know another good page about Porsche let me know

  • @majom89 Thanks for the link!

  • really really really really beautiful car

  • one of the nicest examples of this car around, i think it looks the bollocks

  • which year turbo was the fastest road car in production?? is it this year

  • How come there are no air intake holes in the rear fenders like on every other turbo? Or is that something Porsche added to later models?

  • @SrebJed I've emailed your question to the owner. I or he will post an answer, hopefully soon. Thanks for asking.

  • @LauraMuse18

The 964/965 Turbo never had those intakes. The only exception were some tuning cars.

  • @GadgetInspektor Thank you!

  • Wrong! The 964 Turbo S and 3.6 Flatnose had them, but they are non-functional.

  • @GadgetInspektor - you are incorrect. Both the 964 Turbo S and the 3.9 Flatnose had intakes on the rear flairs. The intakes were non-functional and put there by Porsche to differentiate those models from the more common 964 Turbo.

  • @MetalGuru965

That´s correct and i learned now from you, that they were non functional.

I could have been more specific in this case, but my answer referred to the car in this video.

  • @SrebJed Porsche introduced the quarter panel intakes on turbo models with the 964 Turbo S, the regular 964 turbos (like this one) did not have the intakes. Prior to the 964, the only other production model 911 that had intakes in the quarter panel was the 930 slantnose.

  • @SrebJed

On the air cooled turbos, only the "S" models had intakes in the rear fenders. The intakes were non-functional; cosmetic only.

The water cooled Turbos (2002-present) use the intakes for the directing air to the intercoolers.

  • @MetalGuru965

I think you'll find on the 964 'S' that the rear fender intakes were functional. These intakes fed air through the scoops and ventilated/cooled the rear brakes. I believe the same function existed in the 993 'S' model. The water cooled Turbo S' intakes purpose were two fold - both directing air to intercoolers and to the rear brakes.

  • @SrebJed The 964 Turbo S intakes were not functional. They were added to differentiate the S from the garden variety Turbo. On later water cooled Turbos the scoops send air to the intercoolers.

  • My dream too , a time when Porsche built cars for men not wussies as they do now. A car which one wrong move and it's all over. period

  • @Nation010 Well-stated!

  • That is a sharp looking ride.

    Love the Charchol gray.

  • it's art... it's legend....it's my dream!

  • A Porsche like this is my dream too!

  • @LauraMuse18 mine too :)

  • The 964 turbo did come with the 18 inch Speedlines. I have an 84 930 in this same color with the Speedlines. I also have the original Fuchs as well. There is a huge difference in traction. All original Speedlines will be stamped " Speedline for Porsche" unless they have had them refinished. One of the most sought after rims..for Porsche anyways. AWESOME CAR!!!

  • beautiful car

  • The 3.3 Turbo came from the factory with 17 inch diameter "Cup" wheels, which don't look all that good on a Turbo, IMO.

Seems like most 964 Turbo owners convert to 18 inch diameter Speedlines and why not? The Speedline wheel for this series of car is as iconic as the Fuchs wheel is to older 911's.

  • Love this car too. I have a black 1988 model 930 turbo with the original fuchs on it. Would love to have those rims or a set of RUFs. Hmmm. Sweet. Cannot wait to get it out on the road. Live in Canada. Winters are long. The streets are just getting dry now.

  • Best looking car ever built

  • It's really a work of art.

  • I've never seen factory wheels that looked more perfect on a car. Although, those wheels came on the '93-'94 model.

  • @dchoker000

actually, i thought those speedline wheels came on the turbo 3.6 only? I've seen the regular 3.3's come with more"normal" looking one-piece 5-spoke wheels similar to 17 wheels available for 968's. correct me if i'm wrong. I know these wheels came on the 993 rs too, which are also Speedline's.

  • I hope one day I'll be rich enough to buy one of these beauties...

  • Me too!

  • They really aren't that expensive to buy (compared to a new 911) - they're just horrendously expensive to run/repair! ;O)

  • They are still cheaper than owning a boat!

  • Hehe,, Yeah, a friend was telling me that a boat's running costs are like standing at the stern, and continuously chucking £50 notes (or $50 bills or whatever) into the sea..

Still, can't take it with you :O)

  • If you wanna be technically correct it's a 965, not a 964 turbo... 965 is the factory designation, 911 turbo is the consumer name. Most people it seems get this wrong, nice car.

  • What's in a name? that which we call a rose

    By any other name would smell as sweet;

    -William Shakespeare

  • @spence88mph

    Wrong!

They're often referred to as a 965, but - if you look up your Porsche model History - the 965 was a still-born project and never went into production.

LauraMuse18 is quite correct. This is a 964 turbo.

  • All of the Turbo-specific part numbers on the car start with "965", soooo.........

  • Comment removed

  • Granted, the engine is lifted from the 930 and have part numbers that start with 930. However, if you look at parts like rear suspension arms, wheelhouses, things associated with the wide body, the part numbers start with 965.

  • between 1988 and 1994 ; )

so beatiful this car.... my former neighbour had a 964 turbo s..... never seen such an beatiful and awesome drinving/sounding car.... so pretty

  • Agreed!

  • V. nice Paul ! :)

  • Great video. Thanks Laura!

Always wondered what my car sounded like.

    I think I'll keep it :)

  • I would keep it if it were mine, too!
