  • Very informative. I needed that on one of my video shoots. It will work much better than the bucket or folding chair I was using as a stabilizer. Thanks for the ideas.

  • It makes my day to read comments such as yours. I have several microphone stands with boom arms and all are equipped with the little spring clamps on the ends. I use one just to hold documents, "to-do" lists, notes, etc. in just the right spot above my computer screen. New uses seem to pop up all the time around here.

If you don't already know it, you can make a nice video tracking dolly by using that mount system with a wheelchair. Find a used wheelchair cheap at Goodwill store, etc.

  • Very good ideas! Some very useful tips. Thanks. Best regards from Hungary!

  • Such marvelous senior citizen you are, sir. I loved the video, God Bless you till eternity.

    Best regards from Kuwait.

  • That's a great idea. Also makes it easy to quickly release the camera after filming.

  • I must say I like this idea you have here, For something that looks so minor you can make so many uses out of it ....And go to think I was looking for a home made tripod to mount to make for my bike handlebars, Great video and thanks for having it here

  • Thankyou for the wonderful idea. I have a Kodak Playsport zx3 and this will work perfectly for mounting in my car.

  • creative ideas!

  • great ideas

  • Cool ideas!!!

  • Great ideas... I need a car mount this may just be perfect.

  • this is cool. But what do you do with fat cameras like canon reblex etc...

  • Very inventive. Well narrated Nice production

  • Do you have any ideas to make a clamp to put on bicycle handlebars to take pictures while cycling?

  • Thanks for the video! Many of the ideasa on YouTube remind me of the 12 monkeys theory of how ideas spread all over the world. What I find lacking for the Zx1 though, is a tutorial for how to connect it to a PC and how to basically edit the material.

  • tanks, that was realy helpfull.

  • Great video thanks for the tips

  • thanks so much .I,m getting a zx1 for christmas and this will be great. I got this instead of the zi6 because we camp and gold prospect. Thought the weather proof would work better for us.

  • awesome that will work for me

  • Mic stand idea looks good (a hands free mono-pod)!

I bought a Zi6 this week . What editor are you using?

My first film was at 60fps by mistake which I think causes the arca editor to freeze.

I bought a aug. magnetic fisheye (nice toy for big boys (and girls).

  • this is cool

  • Awesome tip. :)

  • wow that's great! i was wondering how you were filming at all the locations in your videos... quite ingenious!

  • Great ideas, thanks for the info man! Im gonna definately try that clamp thing out.

  • Cool ideas!

  • thanks for your comment. I posted a couple of other idea videos this past week, and am working on another one right now.

  • @Connellphotos try to view my stabilzer.. DIY glidecam type.. tnx

  • do you have any Idea how long the Kodac would keep recording,,, its prob a longer time VGA than HD because its less MB's

    a couple hours,,?

  • I've never really timed it. According to the Kodak website a Zx1 with 32MB SD card will record about 10 hrs. in VGA but I'm guessing the batteries would have to be changed every hour or so. A Zi6 with 8MB card, my guess is about 2 hrs. ( with a battery change). I'm just estimatiing. It would be interesting to know for sure. I have never run mine that long as my youtube videos are all under 10 min.

  • I have used windows movie maker you can cut and chop up movies and create a new movie out of the pieces ,,,I also compressed the HD down to about 10 percent size ,,,might have been better to just use the AVG mode,,,

  • great Idea Hillar!!!!

    I like it!

  • Thanks for your comment. i forgot to add that this outfit works really well to clip on the handrail of a shopping cart at stores, supermarkets, etc. and then you have a tracking dolly to make some smooth rolling videos. i've clipped this outfit onto my bicycle and used the bike as a tracking dolly too.
