I heard this song after getting the albums and I must say I think it is their best song. Had a dream where I was in a room where people were sleeping, this song was playing and I was sitting across from a girl about to play a game, a monitor in the middle glowed our faces. i looked at the monitor and it showed my playlist on my computer. After waking up I picked the song out from the image of the monitor from the dream. Was this song, relaxation took over.
This song is beautiful. This speaks to me more than any other song they've made I use to listen to this song walking around the forest when the sun was beginning to set. The magic in the light, shadows, and the music. Magical.
What a blast from the past, I haven't listened to this cd in years. Used to love OLP and jam out to their stuff from naveed to spiritual machines pretty hard...the good old high school days. Brings back so many memories, what a great song
Read the book upon which this is based and compare/contrast it with world we live in. Strong Orson Scott Card elements, the possible digital reality of immortality.
i don't know how many times am i going to debate with myself about which one of their songs are my favorites...all i know is that i can just put their cd in the car stereo and drive all day...damn they're good...
The hidden track after this song on the album is soo strange. But it's awesome. I remember I had fallen asleep listening to this song, then woke up twenty minutes later with the hidden track playing. It kind of freaked me out at the time lmao.
no u guys got it all wrong he can still pull it off just fine the promblem is he sings now in a deeper pitch so throwing his voice from very low to very high causes thos promblems but like ex like this song he things in a nazely way so hitting the higher notes its a easier transition., :)

wish i could have seen this songs original video, if there ever was one. loved listening to this cd while working graveyard then playing frisbee golf at sunrise
The reverb on his voice is amazing in the chorus, this song is a beautifully composed piece with a cool jazz drum beat and good fazer/chorus type affects on the guitar!!! This song has no reason to be overlooked or not be a huge radio hit!! It makes no sense to me how it isn't very popular!!!
@SpiderBaby same here dammit, i had to see clumsy, i love that album and know every inch of it but it was distorted, drowned out, and very amatuer when they played it in the first set. The second set with all of the other songs saved them from dissapointing me!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!! AND I LOVE OUR LADY PEACE WITH A HUGE PASSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been listening to OLP since I was 9-10? Granted that was 2003 basically, but I've never heard this song before. Never bought Spiritual Machines, unfortunately.
The height of OLP was Spiritual Machines, and arguably this song specifically. New album was a step in the right direction, but it's hard to ever duplicate what they accomplished on this album.
there are certain songs i can't sing when it comes to falsetto's and they at first hurted but i learned how to use it and even car crash has become the easiest thing i wish he didnt lose the falsetto thats unique, but overall still a great band
@Haku548 I accidentally voted down your comment! I agree about the imagination bit... I loved sitting in the yard with the sun on my face, eyes closed, listening to this song. First time I've listened to it in years since someone stole my cd's cos I was stupid enough to bring them to school...
man sometimes i wish was not 15, i didnt discover this band until last year. i wish i was older back when they first came out so that i would have been a fan since the begining and could have experienced watching them mature musically and improve over time like i can when the more recent bands right now. oh well what can you do. either way Our Lady Peace is the best.
same im a few years older than you are and ij ust discovered them too. now im just listening back to all their wondeful albums and i really love them.
if thats the case- kinda sad, i think the falsetto is big part of what makes them so great- makes his voice so unique...ofcourse they are still good without it, but the falsetto is really nice
I'm pretty sure Raine's not doing his falsetto as much anymore is because it's becoming more and more difficult to do it / it's starting to get painful as he gets a bit older. If you listen to him on the Live DVD, he really struggles with it at times. He can't physically do those crazy falsettos he used to do in the chorus on 'Superman's Dead' anymore.
I can actually sort of corroborate this - growing up I could hit falsettos similar to Raine's - that was back when I was anywhere from 14 to 18, but these days it's pretty much impossible to sound good doing it, and it hurts like a mother. I really do miss those falsettos, but what can ya do?
@angryparrot Actually thats absolute horseshit my friend (:, Raine does not sing the way he used to simply because of Bob Rocks presence in the studio, as a band they really changed after using Bob Rock as a producer - and I don't know if you know but he was the one who told Raine to stop singing like that - so maybe he feels a little "weirded" out by it now.
@lohello567 That thing about Bob Rock telling him not to use falsetto anymore may be true (although I can't find any interview that says that), but it doesn't explain why he doesn't currently bust it out in concert. It also doesn't explain why when he does, he can barely get it anywhere near where he used to. Finally, there's a reason they ditched Bob Rock. I doubt his ghost would still be making Raine feel "weirded" out.
This song was way underrated in its time. Still one of my favourite songs of all time. :)
