  • Does he take dumps all around the house?

  • I mean @superstefferz

  • @superstezz u can keep them as pets if ur up to them, they are not protected by the migratory act of 1901 in most states

  • lol sounds like donald duck

  • I have one, 2 weeks old. What do you feed them as adults?

  • @MouseMovies i feed mine a good quality dog food with chicken being the first ingredient. I buy Ceasar small dog food (i have a chihuahua anyways) and find the pieces are small enough for him to eat, as other dog food i have to crush into a manageable size for him. I also used the same food when he was young, only soaked. Protein is the important thing as starlings are insectivores. Dont use wild caught insects or worms or food designed for parrots.

  • I own one, they're fairly easy to keep as long as they get lots of attention.

They hate to be ignored, above all else.

Anyways, it's a common myth that birds can't be returned to the nest, they can, songbirds have no sense of smell.

An imprinted bird, as lupinedivina said, can't be released. My bird got loose for three days once, when he came back he was nearly dead and I only managed to save him in the nick of time.... he would have died in the wild.

  • I really wish I could keep one of these as a pet, they're one of my fave birds! :D

  • how cute! I am in love with starlings and hope one day to have one myself. I have some nesting on my porch now. I would only take one if he couldn't be returned to the nest though.

  • Why such a small cage?

  • did you not read the replies below?! good grief, this is getting monotonous!

you people should stop ASSUMING that what you see is the whole thing....and as already stated, he only goes in at night, he flies the house during the day.....

  • wow. Aww, that's adorable. XD

  • oh...i Should also mention too...when he is out....all he CRAVES is to be with me...rarely EVER leaves my side!

  • As cute as they are, that bird does NOT belong in a cage... A bird that size, CRAVES to be free and fly...

  • Normally he's flying everywhere, he is only in his cage when its time to sleep at night. If you mean "free' he should be wild, that is IMPOSSIBLE, as he was IMPRINTED by humans, imprinting is IRREVERSIBLE. . Wildlife sanctuaries will not take them because it is NOT native to Canada, & if they do, they destroy them, Starlings ARE considered a PEST in both the US & Canada to native species & crops.

  • lol, right before he said bad boy about halfway thru, i swear i heard him say "ur naughty". too cute!!

  • He's so handsome :)

  • um...what you see is not the whole cage....there is A LOT more too it...if you actually took the time to look, you would see that on the right hand side that leads to the rest of the cage, which is very large as well as tall. You are only seeing one area.

  • I understand what your saying here and realize he has been with you since a few days old and that's probably better for him... Can you post another video, showing how big the cage is? It sure looks small when I see his head a few inches from the top...

Don't get me wrong, I love birds and photograph them when I can... I guess nature gets the better side of me when I see wild birds in a cage... Looks like he's treated very well, with all the talking he does though...

  • The cage this video was taken in had these 'peaks', it seemed a waste of space, but decide to put perches in it anyways. That cage was about 2 feet long and 2 feet high. I actually bought him a new cage last fall, a parrot cage that opens at the top so its easier for him to come and go as he pleases. he's out in the morning and back at night. However to make videos of him talking is easier when he is in one spot and i am not close as he will just wait for me to talk.

  • That cage looks sooo tiny...
